I like freezing the target then activating the powershots valor surge and then shoot the target with the forgefall it does almost 2000 damage per hit and if you hit a weak spot it deals like 3500 damage if anyone wants to use it read this comment
Same here ! It's more technical sniper-like but works perfectly. I don't even activate the valor surge, just target the weak spots. It's particularly effective against big machines. You can one-shot a tremortusk or get a thunderjaw in two/three shots. It's great !
FYI for anyone farming anything near a fire. Auto save there then restart from save. It'll prevent you from having to use 2 scrolls to port away and it's wayyy faster. Monsters respawn when you reload save.
The more I level up the more I’m just blown away by how much they improved the combat system across the board but especially melee. I’m doing a warrior/Hunter build with some survivor and infiltrator. It’s so much fun. Upgraded resonator blast is fuckin op lol
i wish we get NG+ soon ... i'll grind like crazy in the regular play-through then play the NG+ in ultra-hard mode with hopefully a new achievement like in FZD which is what i did with my ultra-high with a stealth build. even in ultra hard mode, i could disappear from sight right in front of the machine in battle. though it was basically a 1hit kill against anything stronger than a watcher~. good times~

Horizon Zero Dawn was released at the end of February and we didn't get New Game Plus until the beginning of July, so I'm assuming we'll have to wait like 4 or 5 months
Unlimited metal shards: After completing the rebel camp near the Thunderjaw, that's using the machine parts, collect the shards from the machine piles, fast travel to the Carja camp nearby (I use that because it's convenient), then fast travel back to the Rebel Camp and you'll find that the shards have respawned. Rinse, repeat as long as you like. I bought some good gear early in the game because of it.
The rope canister ammo is OP. I used shock ammo to hit 1 canister on a lvl 35 Tremor tusk and after hitting the canister with a shock arrow it was completely shocked and I had enough time to detach it's Tusks and do a lot of damage with explosions to bypass it's armor.
The best place to farm is the thunderjaw location in the southeast corner of the map. Stand on top of the highest of the 3 rock formations and the thunderjaw cannot touch you. Just walk back to the shelter and a new thunderjaw respawns.
@@yashsoni7614 I've recently learned the tremortusk location in the northwest corner of the map just west of the lake where the 2 tremortusk are gives so much more shards. 2000 every 3 minutes or so.
👋Hey, If anyone is early-mid game, and needs a no kill metal shard farm just go to the "Rebel Outpost: Jagged Deep" next to a thunderjaw site and complete it if you haven't. There are 5 corrupters there that infinitely drop metal shards if you fast travel back and forth. It's a very good money method on ps5 since you don't have to load to spawn.😎
Been spending my time on both this and the Elden Ring game. Tell you what, HFW takes the cake, hands down. I’ll probably shelve ER and focus on HFW at this point.
Depends on what you like in games, for me it's the other way around... Horizon has too much spoon fed story with cinematics and long ass dialogs, the character gives you tips on how to figure things out like 5s into it, too much braindead jumping puzzles that are there just to be annoying and lastly, the most annoying of all, how bad exploration is in this game, not only you'll find like a bunch of useless loot while exploring, but you'll often encounter stuff locked behind main story progression... After a couple hours into the forbidden west I just gave up on exploration and went straight into story progression because I was tired of Aloy saying "can't deal with this just yet, will have to come back later"... But I'll tell you this, combat and visuals are really cool in this game, and that's what helped me push through the rest of the game.
you can get the enemy to respawn faster by either going to a close campfire quick save then restart from save option in the pause menu or leave the fight area make sure your at least 130m away then go back either option will cause the enemy to respawn, for that slitherfang i just use the nearby campfire to quick save and reload makes farming it much quicker

Fully upgraded skykiller with powershots… can 3 shot a frozen apex slaughterspine. Ammo is expensive but powershots are free & refills ammo… so no loss
ahh yes, looks like it's time to change my playstyle from being a stealth archer using sharpshot bow from grass to a more Leeroy Jenkins Rambo playstyle.
I never did the hunter quest in the first game, so I wasn't invested in that NPC and ignored her quest for a long time. But she handed me a really sweet bow. Wish I'd done it sooner.
I've found one from either an Apex Slaughterspine or Tremortusk (same farming run so idk). I'm guessing all the high tier enemies can drop them, like Stormbirds/Dreadwings/Fireclaws. But I've killed a LOT of all of them, enough to upgrade almost all the legendary gear, and have only seen that one. They drop purple mods extremely rare (I did also get a 25% Draw Speed mod at one point as well) I found 2 or 3 more from the advanced chests behind Metal Flowers. iirc both of them were back to back from the San Franciso island area. Chests behind Firegleam seem to drop mid lvl loot. I can't remember the specific names of the chest (pretty sure they were the purple or orange versions) You could try those. I know one was from the farthest SE tip of the island where there was a ?. Look at Legacys Landfall on your map, go all the way down past the Tallneck, then East as far as you can. If you dont get it, you might be able to reload your save to change the loot. Not sure if it works but I'm gonna try it soon. I think the other one was towards the west, slightly NE of the Slaughterspine icon on the beach (theres a Campfire there). Its another ?. You have to go into the building nearby where all the Red Eye watches are patrolling. You'll see the Metal Flower and the chests with your focus.
Wish there was new game + . Litterally beat the game the difficulty one above from normal. I was level 43 with gold and purple weapons upgraded at least twice . Not 4-5 times . And with ease was able to finish the story . Will grind the collectables and sides and get platinum at the highest difficulty now for this reason . Loved the game totally amazing just wish their was new game + so I could keep building on my stats and skills and increase difficulty to max from scratch while keeping my items
nice but i really dislike the warrior bow and dont use them at all, im more a fan of the seeker/wildfire hunter bows with a vindicator spike follow up for close/medium range fights and the delta sharpshot for long range sniping, 1 of the great things about this game is the variety of playstyles catered to and not just 1 OP method, another great video jor keep them coming theyre much appreciated
Man game gives you so many options on how to play. I struggle to use the shredder though. I feel like enemies are just all over me when trying to throw and catch especially on very hard and ultra hard without being on new game plus is frustrating
there is a thunder jaw site that when reloading the area 1 in every 3 reload you'll see the machine dead and 4 rebels around, one of them drop the thunderjaw tale and the others drop some other parts and are very ez to kill with stealth, I use that spot to farm
I've been playing for a while and made myself a Tenakth Skirmisher with full Deep Concentration, Concentration Regen and Stamina Capacity/Regen. It just makes my gameplay all round. 😂
Well, well, well - first of all - thank you for this video. I have already 140 hours of gameplay and never used a warrior bow until I saw your video.... I just completely forgot about it - But now I went and bought some of the purple ones and man - NICE... I still have to get the legendary one however... I am enjoying the game a lot and do my grinding all in Very Hard - which of course takes all very long because I cannot use all my best ammo otherwise I end up poor very quickly... so it has been a grind, but absolutely enyojabe. This game has so much to offer. Miles ahead of the first one. I am looking forward to NG+ to do it all again ;-)

Although I haven't started making my endgame builds yet I currently have 35k shards so I don't think I need to worry about them just yet. Also just gotta love how an old school strat is still reigning supreme
They go fast when using certain ammo types, like the explosive spike throwers and then crafting the ammo. And then having to buy more resources to craft more. I had 70k at one point and after hunting big machines to upgrade the legendaries I found myself with less than 1000 shards very quickly.
Does forbidden west have the same mechanic as zero dawn did where the more you killed of a certain type of machine the more difficult they'd get? I think they called it the "evolve" mechanic in zero dawn.

For close quarters human fights, farming shards, quick takedowns and economical reasons, a maxed out Carjas Bane has to be one of, if not the best weapon in the game. It's also one of the most fun weapons in the game. It decimates everything.
I am using death seeker's Shadow mods 15% crit chance increase, Highground damage 25%, Component tear 25%, burning enemy damage 18% and last but not least Stealth Damage 25%. As my ohh sh.t weapon i use Glowblast sharpshot bow, Mods Overdraw 15%, Draw speed 25% and reload speed 25% use that bow because of the tear and plasma shots and also because i use the Braced Shot if i get in trouble with more machines at a time. Never really used the warrior bow at all. Armor wise i am using legendary Carja armor.
That's like it's me typing lol, I play exactly the same give or take some mods. And I also use the legendary Range armor which I just got. Before I use the Tenakth range outfit. I also use the Corrosive Blast Sling and the Spike with the exloding javelins (don't remember the name). Still undecided on the 5th weapon so I alternate, usually between the Tripcaster and the Ropecaster.
I can’t do that last gauntlet run. I’ve tried at least 30 times and I always get hit right near the end where I end up stuck or turned around so I lose in the last 15 seconds every time..
Is the part that was in the first HFW gameplay reveal in the game? Where you fight the Regalla Tremortusk on the beach trying to find Erend?? I’ve finished the story of the game and am currently 50% completed, still have several side missions and errands to run but none of them seem like they’d be the quest.
Okay fine since no one said it you can loot a purple 15% concentration coil at the end of the what was lost side quest by looting the scorcher it's a guaranteed item
I am SO TIRED of the weapons and how most of them have the same FREAKING element(s), I can carry 6 and 4 weapons has acid. This is bullshit, and a total waste of weapon spaces. I like certain bows, certain shots, and to get these in the rounds of 6 weapons 3-4 always have acid shot mixed in and its useless to have that many.
I have a question whether it be okay if I play the game till the very last mission but don't do last mission but then do every other side quests and every other mission befor the last mission in the game
Yes i highly recommend doing all side quests possible the benefits they give are massive ( mainly skills points which are good in general but also give you easy access to the techniques = fun/op but more often then not they do give you powerful weapons amour or coils like what was shown in the video) this is what i do most of the time during a main quest most of the time you are lead to a new area like plainsong or thorn marsh or you walk through a tiny tribe either way most of the time there will be side quests i would do them right away or save them until i completed my mission then do all the side quests in bulk! Forbidden West's side quests aren't as boring as you think btw before publishing the game they wanted to make sure that the side quests had more plot and interesting story to them but also making them fun but most importantly rewarding! which i can tell you my self they definitely did just that but ofc its up to you hope this helps

Additionally, you can ready a 2nd arrow and fire 2 shots for twice the damage, only technically costing 1 shot of "power" from your valor surge.

That's my plan. I'm going to fully upgrade all my armor and weapons so I don't need to worry about destroying machine parts in NG+.

Pro tip: at scalding spear you can buy a coil that gives 100% tear damage to sharpshooter bows , very useful if you use tearblast arrows a lot
that coil doesn't effect tearblast arrows only impact and strike through ammo

Yea the metal shard problem starts When you want to uprade every legendary weapon and armor

I just got this game yesterday and I am beyond overwhelmed! I'm still in the early "tutorial" missions.
Finally, someone who recognizes how potent Freeze is in the Horizon games. It is by FAR the best status ailment to use.
Frost was absolutely broken in zero Dawn. I’d just use my champion bow to freeze any enemy, then unload with my striker bow.

you can quick save a nearby campfire then restart from save/checkpoint to respawn the machine really quickly. yes this still works

I just cheesed the arena with advanced spikes. Since you get all the materials back, it’s easy to spam

You don't have to fast travel away to reset the spawn, you just need to run about 100 steps away and make sure the spawn area is not within sight.

Hi there can you help explain the difference between component tear and tear damage coils? Which would be better to use on the sharpshot bow?
Best late game farm is the tremortusk site northeast of stone crest. I get 2000 shards in a couple minutes.

I tried getting into the Warrior Bows, but didn't like how you have to be close to aim... I'm more of a Hunter and Sharpshot Bow.
You don't have to go to a campfire to make machines rewpawn. Running away until you see the body dissapear is enough
And then there's me running boltblasters & exploding spikes since the near beginning XD

Although I haven't started making my endgame builds yet I currently have 35k shards so I don't think I need to worry about them just yet. Also just gotta love how an old school strat is still reigning supreme
They go fast when using certain ammo types, like the explosive spike throwers and then crafting the ammo. And then having to buy more resources to craft more. I had 70k at one point and after hunting big machines to upgrade the legendaries I found myself with less than 1000 shards very quickly.
I use stealth and precision bow with bracing shot and range boost. Near enough 2 shot the biggest of machines.
The best way to farm shards is to go to the coast and kill lobsters and crabs. Their irrediscent shells sell for 150 each.
Where do you get impact damage coils? I've not seen a single one so far

Does forbidden west have the same mechanic as zero dawn did where the more you killed of a certain type of machine the more difficult they'd get? I think they called it the "evolve" mechanic in zero dawn.

Great video!!! Personally as an old time Monster Hunter player i like to farm machine parts the way the game difficulty was intended otherwise i think is a great farming method.

Can anybody tell me what the last machine overide is in the fabrication terminal? I finsihed the story and scanned all machines in my notebook. And all cauldrons including Gemini are complete. But it says cauldron unknown.
sharpshooter build with braced shot + ranged master is absolutely broken. You can literally 2 shot a Thunderjaw.
Kinda feel bad for the fireclaw at 2:13. Dude put like 20 arrows into its groin.

For close quarters human fights, farming shards, quick takedowns and economical reasons, a maxed out Carjas Bane has to be one of, if not the best weapon in the game. It's also one of the most fun weapons in the game. It decimates everything.

Complete and win all of the gauntlet races and you get the Legendary Carja Warrior bow as a reward. It's that simple.

I am using death seeker's Shadow mods 15% crit chance increase, Highground damage 25%, Component tear 25%, burning enemy damage 18% and last but not least Stealth Damage 25%.
As my ohh sh.t weapon i use Glowblast sharpshot bow, Mods Overdraw 15%, Draw speed 25% and reload speed 25% use that bow because of the tear and plasma shots and also because i use the Braced Shot if i get in trouble with more machines at a time.
Never really used the warrior bow at all. Armor wise i am using legendary Carja armor.
Not sure where I got it, but I have a mod that says 100% tear damage...yes, not 10 or 15 but 100!
That's like it's me typing lol, I play exactly the same give or take some mods. And I also use the legendary Range armor which I just got. Before I use the Tenakth range outfit.
I also use the Corrosive Blast Sling and the Spike with the exloding javelins (don't remember the name). Still undecided on the 5th weapon so I alternate, usually between the Tripcaster and the Ropecaster.

I can’t do that last gauntlet run. I’ve tried at least 30 times and I always get hit right near the end where I end up stuck or turned around so I lose in the last 15 seconds every time..

Is the part that was in the first HFW gameplay reveal in the game? Where you fight the Regalla Tremortusk on the beach trying to find Erend?? I’ve finished the story of the game and am currently 50% completed, still have several side missions and errands to run but none of them seem like they’d be the quest.
My biggest pain I deleted accidentally my all saved data of the game bcoz of Wings of the Ten weapon bug. I was in the main quest after Gemini.

This is only effective in lower to medium difficulties. Once you are playing Ultra-Hard mode, you will need a lot more damage.

Go to quests scroll down there should be a thing called “jobs” and then press x on the job you would like to do

Okay fine since no one said it you can loot a purple 15% concentration coil at the end of the what was lost side quest by looting the scorcher it's a guaranteed item
Someone told me the salvage camps give you more shards than vendors for the stuff you sell. Can anyone confirm this?

I am SO TIRED of the weapons and how most of them have the same FREAKING element(s), I can carry 6 and 4 weapons has acid. This is bullshit, and a total waste of weapon spaces. I like certain bows, certain shots, and to get these in the rounds of 6 weapons 3-4 always have acid shot mixed in and its useless to have that many.
You didn’t say how you got the bow or the parts to upgrade the items
I have a question whether it be okay if I play the game till the very last mission but don't do last mission but then do every other side quests and every other mission befor the last mission in the game
Yes i highly recommend doing all side quests possible the benefits they give are massive ( mainly skills points which are good in general but also give you easy access to the techniques = fun/op but more often then not they do give you powerful weapons amour or coils like what was shown in the video)
this is what i do most of the time during a main quest most of the time you are lead to a new area like plainsong or thorn marsh or you walk through a tiny tribe either way most of the time there will be side quests i would do them right away or save them until i completed my mission then do all the side quests in bulk!
Forbidden West's side quests aren't as boring as you think btw before publishing the game they wanted to make sure that the side quests had more plot and interesting story to them but also making them fun but most importantly rewarding! which i can tell you my self they definitely did just that

Those 2 requires you to play the main quest, and they will soon be available

U will need to get to at least story mission 12 to get all the special gear
