Supa the foodie, as a local i usually don't watch expat or foreigner videos on amsterdam, because they bore me. Yet your videos are so positive and fun to watch, i am loving them. They are a pleasure to watch, i love your expressions. Very entertaining! Cheers
Next time you're with Hass, ask if his grandmother or mother (or aunt or any older woman in his life) can make you some homemade Boerenkool stamppot met spekjes en jus. Mashed potatoes mixed with kale, baconbits and dark gravy paired with either smoked sausage, pork cutlet or just THICK slabs of bacon (speklap). and make sure you dig a little hole in the middle of your mash for the gravy! If there's any actual traditional Dutch food, that is probably it. And if it's made by a grandmother...that's just S-tier.
Supa! I didn't know you had your own channel. So good to see your smilling face again. Dave and Matt pointed me towards your channel. I just subscribed! Glad to see your getting to do something you enjoy.
Indonesians were brought over from the colony to work as indentured labourers after slavery was abolished. Same goes for the Indians & Chinese. Thats why you have Suriname-Indo, Suriname-Indian and Suriname-Chinese food.
Thanks you so much for taking your time to clarify my doubt. I didn’t know Suriname-Indo has this correlation since those two countries are on the different continental 🙏
@@supathefoodie thank u also for showing places that no other Amsterdam vlogger has. It was getting very boring with everyone showing the same old place over n over again. 😆
Pity you missed an oppotunity at that Kroket lunchroom (Van Dobben) : it is a white bun like the one had with the kroket but..with a giant portion of meat called broodje halfom. Basically the same bun but with a meat mix of coldcuts. The mix is made of liver and salted/cured beef/veal. They put on proper amount of butter on the bun, salt and pepper and well delicious. Similar to American meat subs but add quality bun and meats. This bun is typically Amsterdam (as a 010 guy grudgingly has to admit LOL) and heavenly delicious. Ah fond memories to visit Granny once a month on Sundays and then go with dad to some cinema (cartoons like Bugs Bunny) and eat at Van Dobben. P.s. warning; watch not to eat your fingers,
One thing to learn about peanut sauce is that there are two different kinds: one is the one you get at the Indonesian is darker, spicier and better with rice and sateh. The other is the Dutch variant which is sweeter and fatter and lighter in colour which is best eaten with Dutch snack food like a kroket, mexicano or fries. People then claim that there is no difference, but I really notice the difference when Chinese kitchens keep mixing them up. The Indonesian original with fries is just gross and watery. The Dutch one with satay is too sweet, and you'll miss the yummy spice to it. This is really annoying when I order sateh at a chindo (Chinese indonesian), because I expect and want the indonesian kind like in the video, instead they give you snackbar sauce Try a patatje oorlog at a Dutch snackbar next time.
Waarom hebben jullie geen lekker drankje bij je eten? Wie eet er nou zonder drinken erbij? Jammer voor de scene thuis met al dat lekkere indonesische eten!

Biggest no no. Do not eat rice , bami etc with a knife! Spoon and fork is the best way to go 😊
