  • Switched it up from lakers to browns. Jigged them in similar ways but instead focused on ledges and schools of bait vs looking to mark fish on deep flats. Casting also resulted in a couple fish.

You go to Cannonsville, that’s average fish size if you jig by a ledge there. Same goes for Ashokan. 7-8 lbs is average trout size. You just gotta use right color in right spot.

We have some stud browns on the western side of Lake Michigan. Having said that, Jesus you put on a clinic! My PB is 23#, and there are 35#+ swimming in the lake, though very rare for sure. Looks like you had a blast my friend. In reality, our browns are highly overlooked, mostly due to the kings and cohos and acrobatic rainbows/steelies that get targeted in much deeper water. They (browns) are a lot of fun on light tackle. Especially the Seeforellen strain. Absolutely loved this video!

Great educational video…thank you. I’m new to deep water presentations. When trolling down to 50 feet in a kayak…how do you get the Flicker Minnow Deep Diver to that depth in your hobie ? Are you adding weights to the line above the lure and allowing it to drop before you troll and what speed are you targeting? Thank you so much and congratulations on a great week in upstate NY.

Wonderful fishing! Those big Browns had shoulders on them ... darn near ocean sized. Hard to imagine the fight they would put up as sea-run fish. New York is not alone in socking it to non-resident vacationers who want to go fishing. ( and it might even get worse ) But, as expatriate New Yorkers, we both know the drill. Complaining long and loud is our birthright, damnit.

Dang those lots bigger than what I ever caught there. That atlantic salmon would a won the derby. I know exactly what ya mean about the traffic, after that first holiday in spring the smooth water is gone. Didnt see any leechs hanging off any fish maybe i will head on up again. Kinda quit when the lake became infested with leechs .zebra mussles, and the slime that sticks to you line.
