Mitsubishi Outlander (inc PHEV) Key Fob Battery Change - DIY - Quick / Easy / Cheap

- In this short video I'm going to show you how to change the battery for you Mitsubishi Outlander key fob quickly, easily and cheaply at home.
The battery you will need is CR2032:

How to change your Mitsubishi Outlander key fob battery:
1. Remove the emergency key.
2. Insert a flat head screwdriver into the groove and gently twist open.
3: Use your screwdriver to gently pop out the old battery and replace with your new CR2032 battery.
4: Snap the two halves of the fob back together and insert your key.
Your Mitsubishi key fob battery should now be working properly and the dashboard warning message resolved.

How does the car knows the key needs changing?

Not sure on how it does it exactly, presumably via the same keyless entry. It will prompt you the key fob is low on the dashboard display.
