If an eyeball planet has enough weather & atmosphere, the side that directly faces its star would have a more tropical environment. That means it's likely that a realistic Suluco would have tropical weather around the front of the planet.
Bro thats so awesome. Do it!! you should be able to do almost all of the kcalbeloh system with near future, I think I will need Far Future to make it to the planets in the black hole system & back. I used a near future craft to get all the way down to the brown dwarf system that was pretty cool! Check it out!
@boguekerbal I used near and far future together and did a tour of the entire planet pack, took a detour to do a flyby of the black hole itself. Only took around 100 in game years. Some of those burns take a long time on my old PC.
@@bradley9201 Niiicee. I'm going to break into using Far Future for my black hole system expedition in a few weeks. it's gonna be like the big finale to this series. Let me know if you have any tips!
@boguekerbal Honestly, u have been playing on sandbox, but when you use the large engines, make sure that you have enough radiators, because I didn't and when I was burning towards cool to the wormhole my reactor blew up and I lost electricity. Playing with usi all of my 50 kerbals died :(
@@bradley9201 That's a good idea, I bet it gets hot over by the black hole accretion disk. the engine on my craft isn't one of the humongous ones so hopefully it'll be ok. Thanks for the tip! Stay tuned to see how it all goes down haha!
I really liked this video, and wanted to leave a comment. Also, I don’t know if you know about action groups, but you can set all the deployment of radiators and robotics(among pretty much everything else) in the VAB.
Bro that is so awesome, thank you!! I have a few ideas for tutorials on the kcalbeloh system that I might do cus I love getting people into this great mod!
I find it quite interesting that both you and Matt Lowne happened to upload videos about surface colonies in KSP at around the same time and both to Kerbin's south pole. Even tho you were just testing the modules there before sending them to Suluco. Still found it interesting and also great video :D
Haha yeah I noticed that too!! His South Pole base came out after mine haha maybe he watched my video that would be crazy. He's a legend. He seems to be really getting into the surface base mods rn. I am thinking about doing a double base mission to the double gas giant system in Kcalbeloh, they have an ice moon & a gaseous moon, & I was thinking of sending two bases there, each with different surface base mods used to build them respectively.
@@boguekerbal Yeah, watching matts videos actually rekindled my interest in KSP. once i had a similar problem with docking ports not separating, so i sent a vehicle with robotic arms with rocket engines, and it could dock with the stuck cargo ssto (that was stuck to my cargo truss) and melt off the docking port to get it free
@@boguekerbal yup it had a advanced grabbing unit, and on each side it had a set of hinges, and pistons, so it could change the distance the engines were away from eachother, so it could deal with objects of different sizes, its in one of my videos: "Cargo Shuttles to Laythe, arival - KSP Exploration series season 4 episode 11" and you can see it in action at 7:24
The idea of using SSTO to bring cargo down the planet is quite genius! I use FAR, so it's very big pain to make sstos, but it's a very interesting idea. Also, could you tip something? How do you balance Oxidiser and Liquid Fuel for RAPIER ssto, because well, they will use oxidiser only once in orbit.
Thanks!! What is FAR? and yeah I can answer that, its mostly down to testing. For this craft in particular, I don't actually fuel it up all the way to capacity to keep the weight down. With SSTOs sometimes less fuel is better. So through testing once I figured out how much liquid fuel I need to get to the speed where I need to switch to rockets with oxidizer, I just trialed and errored it again through multiple test flights adding more and more oxidizer until I am able to get into orbit! Another tricky thing is that the rocket mode seems to consume liquid fuel & oxidizer at different rates, but I don't do anything fancy, I just trial and error haha. Thanks for the comment!
@@boguekerbal FAR is Ferram Aerospace Research, a very advanced mod which adds cool aerodynamics (pain), and voxel drag instead of part, two main points are "you can make fairing out of anything" and "fast enough brick will fly".
