- NO, REAPER ISN'T META YET, that said it's much less of a meme than previously. Something interesting to note is that this is horrible to play on most encounters, turns out being animation locked by shroud 2 three times per loop isn't the best when there's mechanics to avoid on the floor smiley face.
This will likely be grinded again soontm, just wanted to upload something now that I'm reasonably happy with the rotation.

I just tried this for 1 hour with both scholar (34.7k) and eagle (34.5k). I'm gonna stick with eagle because accuracy sigil is yikes, maybe you could upload eagle variant since you're so good at grinding this shit ^^

Now officially 21 dps above the d/d condition deadeye bench from last patch (shh, it definitely didn't get a 140 dps buff since). Finally power reaper is up there with the good builds!

Staff is the best off hand? I wonder after the buff on auto sword attacks resetting the 2nd ability, isn't it better to just auto attack and 2nd/3rd skill on the sword till the wells come off cd and just slap the shroud burst again, im new and still in exotic gear, but i feel like the staff thing is just slowing me down and lowering my dmg, if i'm wrong i'd love to tell me where, cause i'd love to improve

Just started playing GW2 4 days ago and I'm a necromancer. I just hit level 80 I'm gonna choose reaper and I'm gonna follow your build. My main hand right now is greatsword and offhand is axe and battle horn so is the staff really necessary for this build?
You should be fine playing Axe/Horn but the rotation is slightly altered and your dps will be little lower.

Power Reaper 35k
You can play any of the elite specs as Condi build 👍 Reaper is the best Power build for Necromancer.
Everyone should have at least one Power and one Condi build ready to play in some rare cases you need to swap, like Raid Wing 6 👍
Blood Magic (1/3/3) with Healing Well skill can be taken over Soul Reaping if you need reviving potential on all Necromancer builds but it is the strongest on Scourge which has condition build only.
But why would john anet make Reapers only movement skill in Shroud part of the DPS rotation. I'd really like to use it for you know movement.
Harbingers even have two short ranged and high damage movement skills in their shroud. This could easily be replaced with one long range movement skill and one high damage attack. Purity of purpose btw 🥲

How do you get all those constant repeating buffs without other classes with you? Besides like regular vuln and might for reaper because I see like all other like 8 buffs that reaper can't get normally.
hey, when you bench a class you want to simulate a "real" raid scenario in which you assume you'll have quickness fury alac might etc and all relevant conditions on the boss. You do that by interacting with both consoles in the training area and apply all boons on you and all condis on the golem. The exact setup is found on snowcrows.com and depends on the class you play because some require specific boons/conditions to be on the golem. Reaper needs vuln and chill on the golem and might fury alac and quickness on itself. If you don't apply the boons or the condis, you will not reach nearly as much dps as in the benchmark. Also as an aside: reaper quickness/might/vuln generation is far from great now that you play staff. It's only okayish below 50%, and even then quickness is really tragic.

hey, no we use it for damage but it's the weakest of the marks so we skip it when using it would delay wells->shroud loop

people will be able to give you specific pointers if you join our discord, it's linked on Snowcrows.com. Now for general things to look out for : make sure you have the right gear, that you applied the boons to yourself and the conditions to the golem via the two consoles, make sure you're doing everything just like in the video, as fast as in the video. If you're not sure what you're doing wrong after all this, simply look at a log of yourself and try to compare it to the log in the description. If you still have questions I have a video on my channel about how to play reaper. It's from a year ago so the rotation has changed but the idea is still the same as well as a ll the animation cancels used. And again, if after all that you're still unsure, asking in necro channel on discord is your best bet to get advice c: hope that helped, cheers
@@scwestet well i didnt applied conditions on golem...what condition need to apply? and yea neeed practice to press skills fast as you...but i find this build kinda squishy..maybe i need to avoid dmg better
@@m.f3815 same condis as in the video, if you check the website there's a guide on golem setup to reproduce the same environment. The two relevant ones for reaper are 25 stacks of vulnerable and chill

I'd argue it's still not decent, you still lose more than better options in real fights and this is on par with quickness catalyst sooooooo imo still needs 2-3k more

im a bit surprised that the change on shroud to really was that impactfull that you use it now in the rotation. in the old one you never used it if i remember correctely? also whats the reason that staff is used now over axe/warhorn? also could you tell the traits?
Hey, shroud 2 is a bit better than doing an auto chain and so is shroud 5 below 50% and shroud 5 is much better below 25%. We use staff since the staff buffs a few patches ago, been a while really and the traits haven't changed since either, just take soul marks when you run staff

Hi, how much you estimate dps would axe warhorn do? And what would be the rotation with axe warhorn instead of staff?
@@Tom67Slick didn't grind axe but I got 1k5-2k lower on axe, rotation should be the same replacing staff loops with axe 2

Just out of curiosity, will Signet of Vampirism be a teeny-tiny dps increase on the golem? Do you use Blood Fiend to get better heal for the scholar rune buff?
heya, that's an easy one to figure out :) I can't log in right now so I can't give you an exact number but you can figure it out yourself very easily. If you look at the log, blood fiend does 96 dps (hover over its dps to see the number, or just divide its total damage by the duration of the log). To figure out how much dps signet would have done, take 100% - shroud uptime in the log, so 100% - 59.363% = 40.637%, and multiply the damage signet does by that number. Signet pulses its damage every second so it's really easy to test, just go in special training area, put might on yourself, get soulbarbs activated by going in shroud then exiting and hit the golem once, then see what the number that pops up is. That number is therefore the dps signet does, and 40% of that number is what it ends up being with the shroud uptime we have. Hope that answered it, cheers :)
tldr: regardless of the actual numbers, the difference is a 2 digits number so it's clearly not worth considering in any meaningful capacity.
@@scwestet Hi, thank you so much for the details! I tried to test this by just auto attacking the golem with either the signet or the blood fiend before I asked the question, and I thought the signet would give a tiny increase.
But I didn't realize the signet's passive effect only exists out of the shroud.
I was wondering why no power bench videos use signet but the ones for scourge do. Now it makes sense!

its not possible to compare the benchmark if u have all condis on the golem from beginning. I thought benchmark is only 10 condis and your own condis
10 condis includes all damaging conditions, so if you do all condis or 10 condis the golem takes the same amount of damage over the duration of the bench. The only time all condis vs 10 condis isn't comparable is when the class has modifiers on targets affected by certain condis/cc (fear taunt immob etc) which reaper doesn't have, so there is no difference between using 10 condis or all condis on reaper, it just saves some time setting up the golem to just click "all conditions" instead of picking 10 ^^
