    • @AfricanCichlids
      @AfricanCichlids 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's what I was thinking. I wouldn't add the archers with the cichlids. I don't know if they'd hold up well and settle in like the mono has. I'm thinking more a separate tank for them and maybe move the mono in with them, my only worry would be is that the mono has lived with the africans about 4 years now and it's become pretty big and aggressive and it's kind of an asshole at times,i fear it might start throwing its weight around with less aggressive fish.

      The better question is what can't you keep in that size tank. I would stick to fish 2ft and under (with the exception of eels)...Giant Gourami, Peacock bass (any type besides temensis), pikes...the list goes on

    • @dwsdarius
      @dwsdarius  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thats a nice size tank for a red devil or midas cichlid, or a trimac; those will defintly have the best personality. You could also try a carpintis cichlid, an oscar cichlid or a pink tilapia. People over look tilapia but they can be very cheap if you buy them from a farm and they are very smart and get a decent size too

    Out of all of these,the Oscar is the one I keep because of how common they are and also because of their personalities.Mine is very interactive,always following me every time I pass by the tank and is always eager to eat during feeding time,even leaping at te food even before it touches the water.It is supposed to be a Tiger Oscar but its colors look more like that of a Wild Oscar because the red colors on its body is a lot more subdued.A friend of mine suggested to feed it color-enhancing food but I declined because I actually like to keep its colors more like that of a wild oscar.

    When I picked up my (30) gallon tall tank this summer for free I now realize the large fish in it was an Albino Oscar. The fish had NO Room to move and had lots of algae bloom. I really was not a fan of it's face. It did seem to have a sweet "personality". I made a 50% water change and it got swim bladder and that was the end of him. Your sharks are nice looking. I just mentioned to my daughter that if she gets married in Israel I wanna go to the renowned aquarium.

    The Burmese clouded archer (videos on my channel) is a full freshwater archer fish. NO salt required. This species is fully isolated from the ocean and are great alternative to brackish archers. They have similar body shape and overall behavior and they only get 6 inches. So in a 125 you could keep probably up to 9 of them. They are a little more expensive than most archers but always worth the money. Tankmates can be pretty much anything that is not a bully (I keep mine with semi aggressive cichlids like severum, geophagus, etc.) And also will look great with any schooling fish too big to eat (probably 2+ inches to be safe with an adult Burmese archer) sooo Congo tetras, silver dollars, roseline sharks, giant danios, etc. along with the listed cichlids.

    • @dwsdarius
      @dwsdarius  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Awesome info, I was under the impression that all archers need brackish water, this of course makes things much easier

    • @wolfmania10
      @wolfmania10 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      DWSDARIUS FISH TANKS yes it’s a very convenient fish because it can go with a lot of tankmates! Basically anything bigger than 2 inches that won’t bully them. But with them being rare they do tend to be pretty expensive but gradually getting better. I’ve never seen them in a pet store (my local pet store that gets all my exotic fish had never even heard of them) so you probably can only find them online. I have multiple videos on my profile talking about them if you want more info! They’d definitely look great with some of your tanks if you were interested!
