- Rescue workers searching for missing missing British teenager Jay Slater in Tenerife have found human remains, police say.
Remains were found in an area where the teenager went missing, Reuters is reporting.

They offered him a lift, but the condition was that it was goint to be after they first had some sleep, so that meant he would have to wait for a few hours in that house, probably not even sleepy himself, so he decided to check for a bus instead. Bus wasn't coming for the next 2 hours, so I could see him just walking around to check the area and its beautiful natural landscape, while his bus wasn't coming, only that it ended up costing him his life..

So true. I always suspected this had happened, but did not anticipate that the remains would be found so soon. I thought they might be found by a hiker or climber in a few years. So very sad for the family.

Just can't understand why his friend lucy didn't go to his location like she said , surely he would have been calling for help and if he was close to his location someone should have heard him 😢
Lucy did go looking for him at the air bnb and around the area. She met with the two men after Jay had called her. She did try to find him. Everyone wants someone to blame but this was just a young man getting lost, it was an accident.
How could see go there without a car? And without hiking experience she could have ended up like Jay. She did the right thing in contracting the authorities when he didn"t return.

@bridietulloch1520 no she didn't , she called police and waited for an update , then she called back then decided to go and have a look , if she had gone straight away she could have seen him.

Do not be naive, if he was lost he would have remained along the road and he would have been seen by passers by and not in the deep bush.

It seems a bit odd all this time they have been working on the jay slater case and now all of just a sudden they have found a body in the Tenerife sea..... Seems a bit shady....

i think it was in a pretty remote area, carrying a body is not something that's "easy" - he may have been forced to go there by the two men he was with and then the body got covered

Sadly the most obvious answer where he would be found especially realising that the whole ravine was full of sheer drops and looks deceiving as a shortcut to the sea
The questions that require answers are
1 why would he go up to a sleepy mountain village with two older men who weren’t in the club with jay and the reason was because he wanted to carry on the party!?
2. Why would he want to party with 2 blokes?
3 why on the screenshot of jay’s location he sent to Lucy have two different phone signals on it that of the phone owner and another person who was sharing their location with the phone owner?
4 why didn’t Brad go looking for jay with Lucy in the American woman’s car?
5 the length of time it would take jay to walk back when Brad told jay to switch his location on was 3 hours longer than the time Lucy said?
6. Brad admitted that he was sharing location with jay

Latest reports 1700 15th July says not yet officially confirmed that the body is that of Jay Slater.
