    In New South Wales, Australia, there's a recent traffic law that states we have to slow to 40km (25mph) when passing stationary emergency vehicles displaying their emergency lights. That's for the safety of police, fire, ambulance and volunteer emergency workers.

      The law in BC, Canada, where this video was taken, requires 70km/h in a 80km/h zone or higher, and 40 kmh if the speed limit is lower than 80.

      that law makes a lot of sense Robert it also shows respect and concern for those working on the scene.

    I am beginning to wonder why they even bother putting mirrors on four wheelers ,they never use them.

      Or the inside rear view mirror.

      The realization that a 140,000 pound (in the case of this driver) missile takes a lot longer to stop than your soccer mom mobile is a tough one to grasp 🤔

    • @heronimousbrapson863
      @heronimousbrapson863 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Maybe because you can't see with the outside mirrors any more after a passing semi has thrown slush all over them and the windows as well. It has happened to me more than once.

    Hey buddy, I live up in Alberta and I was just livin in Kamloops for the summer. Im lookin to become a Class 1 driver.. how is it? conditions? pay?

    • @jordanray6459
      @jordanray6459 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Snazzareth pay and conditions will vary depending on the company you are with. For the most part you’ll have to take what you can get for your first driving job but once you gain at least 5 years experience some better opportunities will open up for you.
      Pay and conditions also depend greatly on your situation. If you’re single with very little financial obligations then you’ll be comfortable with the pay to start out.
      You’ll also have to decide if you’d rather be a city driver, regional or long haul. City driver you’re home every night and the pay is almost always hourly. Regional driver you are home for a few nights a week or more, pay is sometimes paid hourly then by the mile after a certain distance from your home base. Long haul you’re home very little and pay is usually by the mile.
      Trucking in Canada is becoming much more difficult to make money at. This is mainly because a lot of immigrants are now trucking and they do not expect a lot of pay so the industry has brought wages down to match the demand. Generally if you’re a home grown Canadian who is used to good paying jobs with good benefits it can be a hard adjustment moving into trucking. However, wages will get better once you have more experience and you will have a lot more freedom in what kind of job you will take.
      I’m being honest with you so you don’t start in trucking with a false sense of what the industry is like. Starting out can be rough but once you’ve gained experience you’ll be laughing. Good luck!

    sorry ...a lot of those situations you are finding yourself in is because you are over driving it.....you have the visibility but you are not anticipating...and you need to do that......every one has to slow down in winter and hanging the horn button isnt gonna fix the problem....but ye....you're a pro driver so no hope in hell that you gonna change ....right ?

      derek riddler that's why I post these videos, so I can get judged by a handful of people that have zero qualifications or experience of where or what I do nor any videos of they're own to contribute LOL
      I mean the government must just bonkers to issue me a license and employers must bonkers to trust me with there nearly half million dollar equipment, insurance and company, and customers must be just bonkers calling me back day after day to move they're expensive valuable products rightttttt :-D
      Get a ride along with someone and get the real facts and experience

      Slow down? He's already crawling uphill in that last clip. The people that needed to slow down were all in the left lane.

      Can't change the little ones from checking the mirrors, but maybe they'll learn from scaring the shit outta them with the horn and a huge ass bumper in thier face. Get out the way bitch, we own the road!
