Why would u want SAO? Isn't the benefit of a hammer fired gun to have that short double action trigger pull? Im not trying to roast you, im actually just curious, still learning about this stuff.
@@mattysee24single action only will have a singular and consistent trigger pull; while DASA, assuming you’re carrying with the hammer down, will have a heavy initial pull, followed by crisp single action. Due to the double action, the DASA won’t be as crisp and have quite a bit of take up compared to the SAO, even when shooting single action. Neither is objectively better, just personal preference.
I am fortunate enough to HAVE A P229 SAO LEGION.. and its by FAR THE BEST MID SIZE EDC pistol with an INCREDIBLE trigger and reset. Thank you SIG for this pistol i can TRUST MY LIFE TO. ❤❤❤🔫🔫🔫

@@masonsheppard1236 I traded my Legion for my Zev. The Zev feels way better in the had but reliability is probably going to be the same so to me it was worth it but you’ll have to decide if it is to you.
I own one too. I picked it up with the tall X-ray sights and red dot optics included. Shoot crappy initially until I zero’ed the red dot. Then pretty much shot really good and tight groups with it. Tempted to switch out the Romeo Pro with Holosun 507T, though… not cause its better, but wanted something with solar backup.
@@gearrunner yeah a buddy has a sa like this and probably the way his hands are it kicks that thumb safety on sometimes when shooting. Strange sounding but it happens I’m sure with practice and different grip from shooter it could be eliminated. Just thought I’d share my experience. I had the same thing happen on my ruger max9 but it’s a a tiny pistol and that thumb safety sticks up. Also I wanted the one with safety for pocket carry, but looking back it would be better to get the “pro” that doesn’t have a safety and get the one without the ruger optic and put your own on. It has a stupid red dot that only works in light. It doesn’t have a battery to power at night. Pretty silly imo
The sig p229 SSE (stainless steel elite) is even better because the frame is stainless steel instead of aluminum alloy, its a lot heavier and feels amazing although it doesnt come optic ready

I’m very torn on whether to buy the SIG Legion or CZ Shadow 2 Compact. The only hard pill to swallow is that the Legion was significantly cheaper and has gone up in price dramatically

Honest question. Why would anyone want SAO? U can’t cock the hammer of a DA/SA handgun and from there on its SA for the rest of the magazine unless u decock it. If you go the SAO route, there is no DA ever…

I highly recommend getting the optic shroud for the Romeo 1 Pro. It's a great optic, it just gets dinged up easily
1,000% agree - I have the p226, one of my first guns and still my favorite. Mine came with the Romeo pro and that’s the only thing I changed.

What sight tool did you use? I got to make some adjustments but the trigger is sweet along with the overall feel when shooting.

It really depends on what you want it for. If you ever planned to carry it, definitely the 229. For home defense or range use 226.

The newer Sigs have extra holes to allow mounting of different optics so need need for a plate system

FYI - I'm pretty sure you have to get the SAO trigger to get a manual safety. The DA/SA triggers just come with a decocker.

226 is full size, this is mid size, think glock sizes, 226 is around the size of the glock 17, 229 is similar size to a 19

9mm sig p229s make me sad. .357 S I G, or nothing. The gun was made for the round, the round was made for the gun.
Honestly it’s better in 9mm, ammo logistics is far more applicable
