I remember seeing a gameranx video about this and they said cheat codes and some glitches are used for testing purposes so maybe this is why you can enter the Odyssey early

By now most people know you can use the Odyssey's tailpipe as one of three ways to enter the ship, but the fact that that loading zone is present while the Odyssey is unactivated is crazy.

That's just a heavily modified version of the normal odyssey. They moved it to this area instead of its normal spawnpoint and blocked off the pipe hitbox, but since you can go out of bounds you can go to it.

You should see if you can get into the room where you fight Bowser in the moon kingdom without activating the fight
You only activate the fight when you go up to him though

Hey DGR, I have a great “Is it Possible” challenge for you! It takes place in the Seaside Kingdom. Here’s the challenge: You need to make it to the checkpoint on top of Hot Spring Island from the Odyssey, but here’s the catch, you have to make it there WITHOUT TOUCHING WATER! You also aren’t allowed to checkpoint warp, ride Dorrie, or capture anything. I wish you good luck, Dave!!!

My Theory: The pipe was a testing phase object that was never removed, but placed OOB and detextured so people couldn't access it by normal means.
It's the exhaust pipe that mario can use to enter the fixed Odyssey from the back.
My Theory: The pipe enter object is there because it's out of bounds so the devs never thought people would be able to access it and to trigger it requires to press the crouch button in a certain area.
i think it was just left in since it was out of bounds and they didn't bother to remove it
But hey, THATS JUST A THEORY, A GAME THEORY!!!

Is this possible without the first moon skip? Or even would you be able to collect 5 moons and and power up the odyssey before the first moon?
The bridge that falls when when you collect the first power moon blocks of the place to ground-pound through the ground.
I said this last video, but can you do the Honeylune Ridge cave captureless?
Kevin Synan I would say no because of the Bill section, we've both seen some crazy clips through level geometry.
My guess is no, but the cave can be completely skipped without captures pretty easily.

Nope. Tried it before. Its a good challenge to skip the second flower batch, and it MIGHT be possible to do flowerless, but i doubt its humanly feasible

You should try to get across the river (in Cascade) without capturing the first chain chomp to trogger the bridge falling. I've been trying but I keep hitting an invisible wall :(
