It's pretty simple: Henry Stickmin is a single player game, and Among Us is multiplayer. People can only play Henry once, it's popularity after that was mostly through memes, people are still playing Among to this day. The fact that Among us games can have have up to 10 player and each and everyone one of those 10 could be streamer or youtuber means that it really only took 1 stream for it to spread like wildfire.

One of the devs worked on flash games for YEARS. That’s what the Henry Stickmin Collection kinda is. His series of choose your own adventure flash games, with a new game that closes off the series. I highly recommend it, as the collection remastered all of the games.
The Henry Stickmin Collection is my game of the year for 2020. So much fun and passion put into it. I'd been playing these games for years and the Collection really does them justice. Even though it is a shame that all the copyrighted music and other game references couldn't stay in.
About the Henry Stickmin collection, that was made before the explosion of Among Us and it did have some references to it, but that game also did really well because it was a bit of a finale to the flash era of Henry Stickmin.

Ok so for a bit of background on this game, I think this was a byproduct of the Henry Stickmin collection since that series of games just released recently, and it contains many Among Us references. As for why the artstyle looks like a Newgrounds game, that's because Puffballs United, the artist, was a Newgrounds creator. Henry Stickmin and Dig 2 China started out as flash games. I think Dig 2 China still is a flash game. Great review. I love playing this with my friends.

I’ve noticed with other streamers that they would either not look at the chat and have the mods overlook it, or put it in sub-only with mods and a honour system in place with the other people in the session so that everyone gets the most out of it. Cause you John and the others doing this game would be great fun to watch.
I played this game fairly extensively when the current DLC was sold as packs, so I can offer a few tips and tricks: If you want a very easy kill as an imposter, disable the lights (provided the vision of the crew is small enough) and strike roughly two seconds later, OR hit someone at the electrical box. Time it right and you'll get away without anyone the wiser. If you've not noticed, Vents do not let your kill timer decrease. Also, camping in a nearby Vent for a body to be found and then bullshitting your way out of it is a good, but challenging, strategy. The Lab task in the first and third maps and the scan the ship task in the second can be left to work on their own, giving you time to do other tasks. The first map has the shortest time for repairing the reactor and O2, so don't dilly-dally! The final map's Specimen room has no Vent, only access via decontamination. Use that knowledge carefully; it can be a blessing or a curse.

Among Us seems like a videogame adaptation of a card game I remember playing called "Mafia" or something. It was basically this, solely focused on the executions and the trials, but there was also an angel that could protect any individual from being assassinated by the mafia, though they would have no idea who the target would be.

I've found that the maps do make slight changes to the game. Assuming you run the same settings the amount of time to get to certain areas or how spread out the players are matter. It's harder for an impostor to find a victim on Polus vs The Skeld, but it can take longer for crew to find the body and easier for the impostor to have an alibi. So some settings are better for each map and how you decide to configure them can make impostor or crew easier to play.
A fun reversal game is "Hide and Seek" where you set the Imposter to limited vision, the Imposter announces themself at the start, and the Imposter has to try and kill everyone before the tasks are done, no reporting or meetings, and you can talk while you work. It's a fun change of pace.
I think the Henry Stickmin collection may have something to do with Among Us getting popular. When that collection came out I'm thinking people checked out their other games, then like you said people started playing it and it took off from there.

Among Us seems like a videogame adaptation of a card game I remember playing called "Mafia" or something. It was basically this, solely focused on the executions and the trials, but there was also an angel that could protect any individual from being assassinated by the mafia, though they would have no idea who the target would be.

I've found that the maps do make slight changes to the game. Assuming you run the same settings the amount of time to get to certain areas or how spread out the players are matter. It's harder for an impostor to find a victim on Polus vs The Skeld, but it can take longer for crew to find the body and easier for the impostor to have an alibi.
So some settings are better for each map and how you decide to configure them can make impostor or crew easier to play.
A fun reversal game is "Hide and Seek" where you set the Imposter to limited vision, the Imposter announces themself at the start, and the Imposter has to try and kill everyone before the tasks are done, no reporting or meetings, and you can talk while you work. It's a fun change of pace.
Oh, the kill counter is turned down too, so the Imposter isn't doomed to fail waiting for the recharge so long. (Like 10 seconds rather than 30)

I think the Henry Stickmin collection may have something to do with Among Us getting popular. When that collection came out I'm thinking people checked out their other games, then like you said people started playing it and it took off from there.

I actually feel like being a crewmate (at least with the RHS gang) is MORE nerve-wracking. As an imposter, I can actually pull things off quite well, but as a crewmate I'm paranoid about EVERYONE.
