    Ah yes, sounds sweet, love the brass weight config. Would like to see hear them on some L+F cherry black hyperglides :)
    Honestly, this is what the NekoGO should have been. But wait already have a ciel60 lol
    anyways, I thought chickenman proto'd with the Jixte and released the CIEL or is it the other way around?
    But man... I am jealous of that PC Jixte.
    Right now, I'm just waiting on the Moonlight. I think it's going to be my only chance at a quality Gummy O-Ring 60% PC board.

      @@versecurated cherry hyperglides sound great! When the final vid comes out reviewing both this PC Jixte and my older Alu one, I'll be sure to include a cherry mx sound test in that vid.
      He might very well have prototyped the Jixte prior. Based off of his website and Paramout Keebcord, I had thought that the Jixte was the planned successor of the ciel60 since the Jixte protos were announced at the beginning of last year, and the ciel60 was announced back in 2021.
      Yup, lots of promising PC 60% oring boards around the corner! The Devour from Anorexous, the Moonlight as you brought up, and at a much lower tier, the BakenekoGO lol. If you do pick a "higher end" PC oring 60 up, it would be interesting to hear your thoughts on it.
      I've never tried a Moontower or any PC o ring 60 beyond $240 (what I paid for this Jixte since it was on discount), but it would be interesting to see if anything beyond the $200-$300 price point brings anything more to the table besides aesthetics/the designer tax

      I love my PC ciel65, I just wish you didn't need to solder in the LED strip for rgb.

    Sounds great! For some reason, I couldn’t tell much difference between weights, stainless steel was slightly higher pitched? how would you describe the difference?

    • @HubertTheMad
      @HubertTheMad  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Very similar between everything! Weightless did have a bit of resonance and rumbliness, which makes sense I guess (it may not have come through perfectly on video), the brass weights versus stainless steel was very tough to differentiate between. If it's the same price (it was for these protos, but dunno when the Jixte eventually hits in-stock non-proto sales), I'd go brass just because it weighs heavier (not everyone's preference of course, but definitely mine haha).
      If brass will cost extra.... Well, at least with KTT roses on PP, the sound differences are negligible

      @keypothecary 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@HubertTheMad there was the resonance I could hear from the weightless, thank goodness the weights helped clean that up. I guess we let the material cost wars between brass and SS begin!

    Was thinking of picking up the board do you think just the back plate weight will be sufficient for the results you have or would you suggest both.

    • @HubertTheMad
      @HubertTheMad  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Good question! So I actually recommend three things.
      The first is to buy the board (or the create-your-own-combo package) when there's a sale. Paramount Keeb do not usually have regular sales, but I picked up my alu Jixte when they had their 20% off during the holidays sale from last year, and this one when they had a random 20% off sale a few weeks ago. There is a chance of a specific colorway selling out, but based on watching the page of both the pre-selected colors as well as the make-your-own Jixte, I don't think it's AS big of a deal. Especially with BFCM and the holidays coming up in a few months, it may be worth it to hold off (or maybe another random 20% sale may occur before then).
      The second recommendation is to wait for a week or two. I'm halfway done editing my Jixte review where I actually have sound tests of both this PC Jixte and the alu one weightless, with only the internal weight, with only the external weight, and with both weights as well as a KBCompare link to listen blindly to figure out if you hear a difference.
      I have an older Jixte video that has some Jixte configs in there (th-cam.com/video/w9mK6FgJHcE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=sfqA87ciiSKPzkbl), but it's only the alu one. So, I'd recommend waiting at least a week or two for that vid to come out to see if you can hear the difference.
      Last, but not least, I'd say that if it were up to me, I'd pick up both. Both internal and external weights do their part to affect sound, especially in Bakeneko-esque 60% keebs like the Jixtes, but it's more of a "necessity" for the alu version as it helps reduce any sort of hollowness (not that it's as bad as a weightless Bakeneko60, but it definitely does more than the external weight when it comes to pure sound. An external weight is good for heft and does help with sound a bit). The PC one actually fairs quite well with just an external weight, and there isn't really a hollowness problem, but if you are able to, I'd definitely get both. It's not AS big of a deal if you go with PC versus alu, but yeah.
      To summarize, if you can, hold off for a week or two until I finish editing the Jixte review video as well as hold off to see if PK does a 20% sale or some sort of sale to grab the Jixte of your choice at a lower cost, especially since we're just a few months away from BFCM. But, again, it's 100% up to you, and I'd feel bad if I told you to hold off for them to sell out.
      Like I said, however, judging by how long it's taking for the Jixtes in general to sell out, I don't think it's a big issue!

      @@HubertTheMad DAMN, thanks for that reply, yeah I was scrolling their website and they said holiday sale free delivery, but when I tried to check the shipping cost it ended up at 180 which is turning me away from the board
      I’m happy to wait for another discount period and wait for your video to come out, just been chasing a polycarb oring and this seems really promising lmao was a fan of my old ciel.
      Did you by chance have the discord link or invite I tried to join throguh their website and came up with error every single time

      @@juantoreno Jeez, $180?! Yeah, even with a discount, I don't know if I'd want to pay that much for shipping alone (unless all boards cost around that much for you for shipping). The discord is discord.gg/PAKJ7ec7Pr
      For sure! The Ciel was (still is tbh) a great board, and I also enjoy o-ring 60s of both PC and alu variety. Glad to meet another enjoyer of the same stuff haha

      I'm nearly done with the actual review itself (I'll upload that tomorrow or the day after), but I recorded the sound tests of the aluminum Jixtes and PC Jixtes with both weights, with an internal weight only, an external weight only, and weightless if you want to skim and listen how they sound like in different configs!
      th-cam.com/video/JkH2Qdag_8I/w-d-xo.html
      th-cam.com/video/9U2Id_GbCl4/w-d-xo.html
      ParamountKeeb ran another sale last week (25% labor day sale), and I'm sure that they'll run another Holiday sale or something, but if the shipping is $180, I definitely would not buy one... That's way too much, and almost the price of the boards themselves
