Yeh right ,sales pitch for tape ,i applied my bich primer when the timber is dry ,tape wont stick if the wood i wet ,i also painted all the cut ends but leave the bottom of the timbers so it can breathe, i also am laying 4" DPC on top of my joists, this will then sag each side of the timber to divert water away from the timbers ,as long as you have good airflow under your subframe all will be good ,also keep your wallplate 1" from the house wall with plastic packers ,this helps with airflow

Bitumen paint works fine folks, Is much cheaper and everything spoke about is highly debateable, Bitumen emmulsions have worked for decades, don't let an advertisement fool you ! 😂😂😂

The way that paintbrush is being deliberately mashed into the wood with more watered down bitumen paint going down the sides than the face thats being painted 😂

For first layer, mix little turpentine with bitumen and apply thin layer so it penetrates and let dry before applying thicker layers and dry in between. It is not suppose to spread like Vegemite.

funny been using bitumen paints for over 40 years. no problems.
