You're a natural teacher. You take the art of filming, and break it down into simple steps that anyone can follow. I really enjoy the way you present. Thanks for your efforts :)
@@chilledrob YT must know that "great minds think a like" lol. I do like Thomas Alex Norman's teaching style. Hey, I'm excited to watch your next vid :)
I absolutely agree with you here Greg, 100% 🙏 I spent a while messing around with camera/video stuff but I don't think I truly had my "light-bulb moment" until I watched a few of the videos Thomas put out ... And it was all down to it being broken into simple steps with "before" and "afters" 😲
@@FitByTravel Well said! For some reason, the simple approach really appeals to me. I've done all my filming on my smartphone. For me, it's so simple. Thanks for your comment :)
Please create a patron so we can thank you for this! Or a way to PayPal you for it. You continue to demystify this for me. Finally starting to get it. You’re basically showing us how to ‘express our own experience’ with the film-making craft. And you show in detail how you translate emotional personal experience with film-craft. Don’t ever take for granted how much you know and already forgot. That’s what I love that you seem to do. You remember all the noob stuff and bring it in for comparisons with the why it’s a noob behavior. Keep it up!
you are my newest teacher..in my opinion you have shown something very creative in producing videos without having to spend a lot of capital to buy all the equipment..thank you ..
Thanks for the tips! I will try to remember some of these the next time I film an adventure video for out backpacking gear company. See you on the trails! -Jonathan
I'm really glad to see this video of yours. I like the way you express yourself through what you know, I find this tutorial very natural and effortless. Kudos! so much love form the Philippines!
What a great piece. Very informative structurally, technically, but also feel and personality. The bits of humour and/or pleasant errors are really the perfect bow to tie it all together. Terrific job, I’m winter camping tomorrow, will certainly try your tips out! Thanks!
How is really helpful!! I am very new to vlogging. I go for hikes a lot and I've been hating the footage that I've been filming. So it gives me some inspiration!! So thank you
Thanks for the tips, I also find that having a light weight tripod can be great for capturing still shots that can really help the viewer focus in on a view or landscape. Great video!
i really enjoyed this video and will help me out so much as my videos are getting boring as I'm just filming random things and i wanted to add in more fun and good shots as well into it but never knew how so this will help out so much thank you.
Brilliant advice & I love the raw genuine instructions. We have a small family hiking channel & always Looking for advice to improve our content. Thank you so much.
Awesome information here! Thanks for all of these tips. I have been wondering how to make my walking videos less uninteresting so these tips will definitely come in helpful! 👍🏼💪🏼
Another amazing tutorial, Thomas! Yeah, I’m officially addicted to your tutorials. I’m also enjoying the LIFE CAPTURE ACADEMY, it’s worth all the penny and much more. You’re an amazing teacher! Love your humor in your tutorials here on YT, they bring so much humanity and positivity. Thank you for sharing your beautiful world with us!
Thanks Thomas. Everything I know I have learnt from you and the academy. Highly recommend everyone to take the course. Finally started making episodes on my own channel beyond the original ones you have seen of Archimarathon Spain+Portugal. Keep up these great videos. I share these with my friends. I do miss the Facebook group. Cheers.
Great video! Loved the touch of humor here and there 🖤 Would love to try these tips... but alas, we still have sheets of icy snow all over. It isn't easy filming when your feet can't stay put 😂
A new youtuber here. I should have watch it before my hike, but think I was able to apply some tips here, On my next hike and vlog I will follow all your tips.
Thank you Thonas Alex, I really love these Behind the Scenes videos. I am excited for the weather to be warming up to get out and try some of these techniques.
Thanks for the tips! Your BTS with screen on screen is a great help to how we could make such a cool cinematic B-Roll for beginners like me. I would definetely try and apply it in my next video..
This had got me inspired to bring out my GoPro again! Great videos man, and also nice soundtrack in the back. You really know how to give instruction but show clear examples so there’s no confusion even in the thinking process of making them. :)
Wow, your teaching skills are awesome and very easy to understand and learn from you, which I loved, liked and admired keep sharing knowledge and wish you good luck see ya soon!
Love your video mate, they have been extremely helpful to me. (way better than other I've watched on channels with far more subscribers) "It's almost like I've planned this video" - you're hilarious Senor Norman. ^^
Thomas, excellent video. Loving these BTS teaching, and with the screen in screen... bonus. Thanks brother. Very good use of SFX, the steps, the feel of the tree, birds, breeze through the branches and the surf.... nothing was to loud, just enough to know it's there. I've seen some b-roll that the SFX's are far to loud.
Great tips! It’s always good to get some inspiration for new camera angles. I recently started to film all of my hikes. Next month I will be hiking in Austria. Can’t wait to try these tips 😄
I really love to watch your tutorial.. It really helps me a lot in my food cinematic filming.. Thanks for the ideas.. Take care always and God bless ❤️

Bud it's always nice to see your tutorials and i agree that's insane what you can do with a point shoot camera, got a canon g7x mark 2 and it's still a beast for b roll i think 😉👌 thanks for the video keep going man 💪
Hiking cinematography is literally the hardest lol. There is usually harsh lighting, unstable footing, it makes for shaky video. Bugs, weather, snakes, etc.... thanks for the tips I will use them!
