      not a problem mate ill subscribe too, i thought the accuracy was great as well better than the chroni f1. have you tried the lead what you plug into the laptop

    • @srspower
      @srspower  10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Marco Giove No I haven't tried that, I think you can get them from their website and it connects via the serial port. In conjunction with the chairgun software by hawke that could be really useful.

      ill have to look take a look at that then, could come in really handy for finding flat spots ect

    I use one too mate they are very good value for money. I find that if using with an Fac Air Rifle a moderator is needed as my Fac Rapid when firing it doesn't register on the chrono unless I use the Moderator. Watch yourself though as the police do their testing using bisley Magnum pellets and if you were to do a test using them then it would be way above 12ft/lb. Rich

    • @srspower
      @srspower  11 ปีที่แล้ว

      I guess that's the problem. You can make any sub 12 ft lb rifle over the limit with a heavy enough pellet. I might turn it down a little though.

    • @srspower
      @srspower  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** Yes upon advice I have down tuned it by about half a ft lb in the mass spread. So with magnums it would be just under 12 ft lbs now. But to be honest even then if the police used 20 grain really heavy pellets it would still be over. Same goes for any airgun bought over the counter brand new from the factory.

    • @srspower
      @srspower  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** You're right but there are still pellets that would send it over!

    • @Aconitum_napellus
      @Aconitum_napellus 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Doesn't the law stipulate that any rifle that is capable of exceeding 12ft/lbs requires a certificate, most, if not all spring piston air rifles can be made to do 12+ft/lbs with the right or wrong pellet and in certain scenarios.

    • @Aconitum_napellus
      @Aconitum_napellus 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ***** Its only illegal if you get caught ;)

  • @airmojo
    @airmojo 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Does it save a string of shots, or only the last shot ?
    For indoor shooting (which I love to do), instead of a metal pellet trap, I prefer to use a cardboard box packed with cloth rags, or you can use newspapers or phone books, but they can get messy with paper dust and fragments... they are much quieter and no flattened metal shards.

  • @Aconitum_napellus
    @Aconitum_napellus 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    A very helpful video thank you, I shall have to get around to chronoing my rifles with this. I think I'll do it outside though, I don't have a dog but I don't think my house mates would appreciate being shut away.

    • @srspower
      @srspower  10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah indoor shooting isn't for everyone! Thanks for watching :)

  • @PeakyBlinder
    @PeakyBlinder 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    you want a pellet that deviates 3fp wither side of the sweet spot, if you got pellets that drop 10 fp or gain 10fp your accuracy will be all over the place, i used this on 40 different types of pelet and the two that came out on top were the hades and bisley magnums in my s510 tdr regulated, that was with a 180lb fill down to 110 fill, over 180 was closing the valve to fast under 110 was letting to mush air out.
    my gun states a fill from 200 bar but this chrony allowed me to find the sweet spot where the regulator was happy and i now get 70 accurate shots from a 180 bar fill.
    ps use a laptop and input the figures into a spread sheet and that will give you your median score.
    and you can save it and add more columns for different pellets.

    • @sahhull
      @sahhull ปีที่แล้ว +1

      BS... 10fps either way will have an almost un noticable effect on group size out to 55yrds.
      The biggest accuracy issue you have is... You bought an AirArms rifle

    • @richardmajor8335
      @richardmajor8335 ปีที่แล้ว

      If your rifle is regulated and you have a sweet spot your regulator isn't working properly

  • @sahhull
    @sahhull ปีที่แล้ว

    Jeeze I was an early adopter...
    My combro is a mk1... Yes it still works.
    As a field target shooter... Power doesnt matter, as long as its under 12ft/lbs... Accuracy/group size matters more.
    My rifles produce 10.5 ft/lbs ... Because our local anti gun plod test guns with any ammo they can get hold of and not just the ammo you have.

    It depend what country you are. You have 610.82 ft/s. It's illegal for us in canada. The limit is 500. After that you must have a licence. thank you for the video

  • @Bushcraft-xz6xd
    @Bushcraft-xz6xd 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I find it incredulous we have a 12 ftlb limit that we CANNOT legally use! We have to set up our guns below the limit to allow for inconsistencies. It's akin to having a 30 mph speed limit on roads but only able to go 25. At least with the speed limits you get a leeway to allow for speedometer inconsistencies allowing full use of the allowed limit! With air rifles it's the opposite. You should legally be able to use the 12 ftlb limit as set in law with an absolute limit of say 12.5 ftlbs? Otherwise we are cheated out of .5 ftlb of energy (for all the good it would do) but it's the principle of the matter.

    • @Enpassantful
      @Enpassantful 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Bushcraft1974 ISWYM, even our drink drive law has a margin for error built in. The legal alcohol limit for driving is 35 mg of breath but a driver will not be prosecuted with a breath alcohol level below 40 mg. I suppose you could make a case based on similar grounds, if your rifle does not consistently exceed 12fps.

    • @airwolf8915
      @airwolf8915 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      exceeding speed limits in the UK, the 10% +2
      is not the law it is the 'guidline' for the police officer doing the booking and is discretionary.
      He can take into account the circumstances pertaining to his stop.
      Considering how lethal a motor vehicle, of any description can be. An airgun @ 12ftlbs Oscar less of a threat.

    Why is your pellet trap up side down? No wonder all the lead goes on the floor.

      Mine is upside down too... I keep a bucket under the catcher so the lead goes into the bucket.

    Misnomer, a pellet catcher catches pellets.
    yours does not.
    I use an old, pillow either in a box or not, the pellets are arrested in the poly fibres, a .177 fired at sub 12ftlbs even @ point blank,will not pass through.

    i have this one but it disappoints me.the chronograph results did not match with the softwares Strelok + and Chairgun Pro.i have calibrated it based on the reference number given on the unit and its 100fps slow.this is rubbish.

    • @ImNoBSING
      @ImNoBSING 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      nathoi If your bullet drop numbers are correct, the chrono is broken. If not, try changing the BC in the Strelok to match the bullet drop.

    dangerously close to what? what's going to happen if it goes over the woosey limit? is the world going to end? before I had my ticket I used to turn my rifles up all the time to about 18ftlb and had no problems at all as I only use them on my permissions as long as you keep your mouth shut there's no problem. only reason I got my ticket is I wanted more power (30ftlb) and rim fires,but I can't understand why some people are so terrified of that limit, also you say a friend had a rifle that was over and had to send it off, it's funny how you said with that problem?? problem how's that a problem? the more power the better! people have been brainwashed so much about that woosey limit and so scared of the law, its a bit like saying I won't smoke a joint in my house as I'll get nicked, how when nobody knows! people need to grow some balls!

    • @srspower
      @srspower  9 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      +Rifles Are Awesome I don't know how much shooting you do but if you shoot often over a long period of time on a permission the chances are that at some point someone will call the Police on you. I have had it happen to me out Pigeon shooting. I was doing nothing wrong and was polite etc and all was well they went away and I carried on shooting.
      If you had an air rifle there is a high possibility they will take it off you and check it. If you get caught over the limit it 'could' mean prison time.

      +srspower We shoot on a farm in Banbury and have been doing so for the last 15 yrs and as the landowner owns all the land we have never had any encounters with police as he would be the only person to call them, all that you automatically get 5 yrs if your rifle is slightly over is a load of rubbish seriously I know someone who got caught with one that was 16.7ftlb and they just told him to turn it down, different if a crime had actually been committed with it. only reason I actually got my ticket is I wanted a proper 30.5ftlb rifle which you can only aquire with a ticket as a normal sub 12 you can convert to about 20ftlbs and that's your lot as you need the FAC valve which you can only aquire with a FAC!

  • @Chris-de6rm
    @Chris-de6rm 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    If it's shooting 11.5 ftlb with a 14.3 grain pellet it will certainly be over with a 16 or 18 grain pellet. Bisley Magnums are 21.5 grains, god forbid they test it with those. In reality you're looking at having the rifle tuned to 10 ftlb for use with a pellet that has "acceptable" trajectory. All this for the sake of staying within the limit when the police test the gun using extreme-end pellets that are impractical for the average user anyway. THE LAW IS AN ASS!
