    Love how the powder room came out; I would paint the gray part of the light gold; instead of using the PVA glue which has so much water and contributes to the warping/lifting use sticky adhesive sheets which will save you some time; as far as the bricks use egg crates to get the texture and save you some more time; and I love your little doodad findings because you seem to find so many uses for them. Happy New Year. Thanks for sharing.

    Great build just a hint, I built a fire place last year and used glittered craft foam for the bricks, when I painted them, I was surprised at the texture they had and moreso, they didn't weigh down or buckle the cardboard I used for the project.

      Thanks for the tip : ) I like using the wine box inserts, its free :) but i hate the warping, so i'm going to try something different on my next diorama build, i have big sheets of styrofoam i keep from packaging, i'm hoping a layer of that, and maybe a layer of cardboard and then foam board, i like using the foam board over top because its a smooth finish :) hope it'll work... i might try the glitter foam sheets on a smaller project to see how it goes :) thanks so much :)

      @GingerLolaMiniatures I'm no fan of the warping, either. Yet, try the idea on a small project to see if you like it, if not, carry on as you have. I do like your bathroom sink legs idea, though, I've seen it nowhere before, plus it solidified the strength per each leg, now that idea gets to using up all of my extra wooden sticks!

    Paint the top of the light gold to hide the gray. Beautiful job!

    I think it turned out great! Those bricks …. So much work! Wow!
    To make the light look more cohesive, maybe you could paint the gray part black. I think that might help unite it with both the wire “shade” and also the room itself.
    Thanks! Kathleen

    I love each element individually ❤ but all together it’s just a bit too busy for me with the different patterns and details 😊 However, I like that because it gives me a chance to see what other people think design wise and how I would design something similar ✨💖☺️💖✨

    Get some double sided sticky tape to glue your bricks on that’s what several miniaturists I watch use. Avoids the warping issue. Use cardboard with egg crate material bumpy maybe next time to cut your bricks. You can more easily get that textured look you want but don’t have to glob on all that baking soda. Looks good though maybe help next time

    Paper clips for door knobs? Looks like brads?

    For spreading glue, if you use an old credit card you’ll get a more even coverage and then less warping ;)

    Why do you always mix baking soda with you paint? Paint the back of the light gold so it won't be so noticeable.

      I could be wrong bit I think she dose it to give the textured wall look like when you mix sand in paint your going to paint a room with.

    • @GingerLolaMiniatures
      @GingerLolaMiniatures  2 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      It makes the paint thicker and adds more texture : )

      Do you need the texture when you are covering the walls with cardboard bricks?

    • @GingerLolaMiniatures
      @GingerLolaMiniatures  2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      no.... i think i thought it would look more like grout if i thickened it up, don't think it made a difference :) it looked better on the bricks

      exactly :) sand works too, i have a couple of jars of sand i found at a garage sale, need to try that next time :)
