Hello Riss, W/B, How are you? I see your green thumb working hard and things are growing as always. Bees make me happy to see, I don't see as many bees as I used to and I had to try the light finger jiggle and even the electric toothbrush method to get my tomatoes going, I am surprised it has worked so well and the Beefsteak plant has 5 new tomatoes growing ;0, Have you ever grown Beefsteak Tomatoes? not sure I ever asked, they are my fav, get so big and great flavor, is a man's tomato haha,,, I wish more people appreciated and realized how we need bees. You are still the prettiest gardener and the pink toes go with planting, you may start a trend lol,, it is 9 am Monday, 25 C here atm and going to usual 30 and beautiful. I always wanted to visit Australia, maybe next year, I am sure the pumpkin will be up for the challenge and fly solo ;). It is always great to see you and see what ideas I can use ;0, I look forward to your videos, I wish you all the best, catch you next visit,
Hi Jimmy! I am well thanks. I hope you are doing well too! I love seeing the bees in the garden also. This is the first year this blue banded bee has visited and he comes everyday, multiple times a day to pollinate my tomatoes and rockmelons! He is so cute! I haven’t tried beefsteak but might give it a go next year! They sound amazing and I’ve heard they are very popular! That’s great that you have so many growing! Well done! Thankyou for the lovely compliment! I’m glad you look forward to seeing my videos. That makes me happy! It’s Tuesday morning here at 11:35am and it’s a bit cooler today and a rainy week ahead. The reprieve from the heat and humidity is lovely! You should definitely visit Australia, there is so much too see especially in the state that I live in Queensland! So many beautiful places! I am planning a trip to New York for Xmas! I am really excited! I haven’t been to the US since 2014 I think! So much to see in your country too! I hope you have a great week! ☺️🍅🌽🥬🥕🥒🐝🐝🐝
@@risslittleveggiepatch Thank you Riss, it is on my list for sure to visit your country, have a safe trip to NY for Christmas. I have been all over NY many times working or visiting and I don't go to NYC anymore, I do love other parts of the state and visiting Niagra Falls is always fun. Always enjoy out quick chats, enjoy the rain and cool off, sure the garden will love it as well.🌽🥕🍅🌼🌻
The bee is the Australian Blue-Banded Bee!! It's a native bee!! Can be very rare sometimes!! So you are very lucky/blessed however you want to put it to have them in your garden!! Well done!!
I thought they must have special ones as I haven’t seen them in my garden before. They are constantly visiting everyday pollinating my tomatoes and eggplants. I love seeing them buzzing around! ☺️🐝
@@risslittleveggiepatch Yes!! I forgot too mention also that they are solitary bees!! So you usually see them on their own a lot!! Not like the other bees which live with hives!!
Nothing new in our garden this month. It's already full to the brim with Summer plants like tomatoes, chilies, zucchini, pumpkin etc. The only thing I haven't grown for a long time that's about to go in the ground wherever I can fit is Amaranth. Also have lots of herbs and leafy greens of course as those are great year round. Great update Larissa (and Mr Risslittleveggiepatch sorry I don't know your name 😊).Lovely to see that blue-banded bee, I haven't seen one since moving to the inner suburbs. Cheers!
Thanks so much! Sounds like your garden is pumping! I’m finding the tomatoes are struggling with this heat now. I just hope they can hang on! I got them too late as I was waiting for the seeds to come! Kevin is my partners name! lol! I hope your week has started well! 🙂🍅🥦🥬🌽🥕🧅
And yes, the bee was gorgeous! There’s been a few around lately which I’m so happy about. Also a blue Ulysses butterfly which I was shocked to see! 🦋🦋🦋
Looks like everything is growing fast. Didn't even get close to 34c this summer here in my part of the UK. Only 11 or 12c now every day here. Peaches looked great. Look forward to more videos. All the best 🇬🇧.
Thanks so much! The corn is going nuts at the moment. I’m having some issues though. I think the heat is knocking them around. 11 or 12c sounds lovely! Haha! This humidity is too much although it’s cooler today with thick cloud cover and a rainy week ahead thank goodness! The peaches were amazing! I just checked the tree and there are three more sizing up nicely! A couple got done with fruit fly and birds but I’m so so happy with the size and taste of the ones I got!! ☺️🍑🍑🍑🍑
Another nice little video thank you 🙏 and yes been so muggy and hot in Bris. Everything seems to be thriving in your garden despite this so congrats. I'm also growing the Small Sugar Pumpkin for the 1st time so we'll see. These little storm showers we've been getting have been nice 😁
Thanks Scott! I think my tomatoes are struggling with this heat! I’m so shocked the lettuce is withstanding it though! It will be interesting to see how the pumpkin goes. Someone local to Brissy told me there’s didn’t do any good last year so I’m not expecting too much from it! lol! I might have to start something else that does well in this area just in case! The showers and rain has been lovely for the garden and the water tank! 🙂🌽🥕🥬🥦🍅🧅🎃
HI Larissa, good to see how well your garden is doing. I nearly always pot up all of my seeds that germinate into larger pots after about 4-6 weeks and then plant them out about another 4-6 weeks later. This week I have been planting out my summer flower seedlings for Christmas. I planted red Celosia around the front of my rose bed and African Marigolds around the back and around the Dahlia bed. Vegie garden is full of summer veg similar to yours. Thanks for reminding me about the ginger. I bought some a couple of weeks ago and haven't gotten around to planting it. Cheers 😃😃
Hi Keith! I used to pot mine up all the time then got out of the habit until I saw someone else do it which reminded me to do mine! The plants are so much stronger that way! I bought some French Marigolds to plant in the cucumber bed to try and help with the aphids! It’s so lovely having flowers in the garden! Yours sound gorgeous! Is your garden coping ok with the heat? Where are based?
We have a lot of cucumbers this time around too Larissa. I made seven bottles of Retro Cucumber relish this morning so I’ll have some for gifts and some for ourselves. I enjoy your videos and hope all your plants do really well and that you will soon be eating juicy rockmelons.
Oh yum!! I will be pickling or making relish this weekend! How does your relish taste? I loooove to tomato relish so keen to make that if the tomatoes survive! That makes me happy to hear you enjoy my videos! Yes, fingers crossed for the rockmelons!! 🤞🏻🤞🏻haha! I hope you continue to get awesome harvests too! ☺️🍅🥕🥬🥦🌽🎃
@risslittleveggiepatch plodding along here. This humidity is doing me no favours. Hoping these storms we're meant to get today, don't do us damage.....garden or house wise!
It's really encouraging to me as a new gardener, to see that not all seeds come up, or do well. I tend to think it's my fault, and get discouraged. I've got pumpkin and zucchini seedlings just emerging. None of the nasturtiums came up, nor the endive. My bean and eggplant babies need to be planted out. I feel happier to try the nasturtiums and endive again, with a different batch of seeds. I grew zinnia and marigolds last year with no luck, so I'll try those again, too.
This time of year I seem to struggle with seed germination! I have much better luck in Autumn for some reason! Maybe it’s too hot now for the seeds! I’ll figure out one day and let you know! 😂🌽🍅🥒🥬🍅🧄
The heat faster than I was prepared for! My garden is starting to struggle now bit hopefully this cloud cover and rain this week will prolong the growth for a bit longer!
