Great potato haul. We lived in Toowoomba for 10 years. Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers is so beautiful. We are heading back to the Lockyer Valley at the end of next year on nearly 1acre. 💚
Thanks Moneita! I could easily live in Toowoomba! It’s so pretty! Oh I’m jealous! I would love an acre of land!! I would go wild with gardens and fruit trees! lol!
You've grown some great looking crops. Late season or main crop potatoes and reduce the number of sprouts on each seed potato should help grow bigger potatoes. All the best 🇬🇧.
Thankyou for that clarification! I thought that’s what I needed to plant for bigger potatoes! And yes only two eyes on each seed! I am excited to try that next year once it cools down again! I hope it’s not too cool for you over in the UK yet. I lived there for a year back in 2008. It was the best year of my life! London is my favourite city! ☺️🥔🧅🥦🌽🥬🍅
Wow what a bountiful harvest, everything looked so healthy and large. That racked worked great. Wow the tree was loaded with mulberries, such beautiful trees 🌳 loaded with produce. Such an healthy lifestyle, wishing you an awesome week.
Thanks so much! It’s definitely an abundant time of year! It’s great to see all the hard work paying off! Yeah I’ve never seen a mulberry tree so loaded before! It was awesome! Wishing you an awesome week too! ☺️🧅🥔🌽🥦🥬🍅🥧
I am still learning that vegetables continue growing during winter in Queensland. No harvest for me for another month or two because I didn't plant until spring. Now I see it with my eyes, I believe it! Next year, I am going to up my planting game in Autumn - Onions, Potatoes, Cauliflower. Thanks. :)
Hi Lynda! Yes I start planning my garden in January when nothing is growing. Get all my seeds started for Autumn. That’s the time I love most. I will be doing videos about it so you will know what to sow and plant then! Thanks for watching! 🙂🧅🥔🌽🥬🥦🍅
Nice harvest Larissa. I struggle with cauliflower and broccoli for some reason. Brocollini or sprouting broccoli works best for me. For potatoes, I'm a cheapskate and just use offcuts from store-bought potatoes in large pots. Always get a decent harvest with no disease issues. geat video. Cheers!
Great harvest Larissa. I had a good harvest of onions this year as well. I use a mini greenhouse from bunnings and sit them upside down similar to what you did. Great video. Cheers
Thanks so much Keith! That’s great you had a good onion harvest! They are such low maintenance plants. Thats why I love growing them. That’s a good idea with the greenhouse. Was that the backyard farmers brand because I did see that and thought that would work well!
Oh nooo! That’s so disappointing for you! This weather has been so inconsistent this Spring. We have three days of over 30 at the moment then we drop back down to 23 for a week. Luckily cucumber grow quick when it is warm! ☺️🥒🥔🧅🥦🌽🥬
It was really nice to see you barefoot in Nature. It's not only feels good but healthy too. Our feet and soles love that freedom. They love to spread their toes and feel various textures of soil. Be ALWAYS barefoot in your garden.
Hi Anthony! Yes you should! They are really easy to grow! This variety is Hunter River Brown. I tried seedlings from Bunnings last year and they did really well too! ☺️🧅🥔🥬🍅🌽
Thankyou. My friend Nicki has @loveofdirt channel, there is Self sufficient Me who is located near Caboolture. He has a huge channel and I really enjoy watching Anthony from Sydney Backyard Veggies! Even though he is in Sydney he has very good information! 🙂
@risslittleveggiepatch thank you I do follow those two. Such a Shame there's not more. I hope you stay safe with these expected storms and your plants don't suffer ❤️
@@mandaAU09 it is a shame! Thanks so much. You stay safe too. My garden is pretty well sheltered thank goodness so fingers crossed nothing will get destroyed. I just hope my peaches don’t get blown off! I will be devastated! lol!
@risslittleveggiepatch I'm glad to hear that. After SE QLD got wiped out a few years ago, I'm back to being petrified of storms. We had 3 rounds of hail and lightning hit a massive palm just outside the window I was near. Can't describe the feeling of the thunder and lightning being simultaneous. I could feel the electricity through my body.
Oh gosh! The storms are frightening and they are getting so much stronger every year! I nearly got hit by lightening in my early twenties so I’m a bit scared of them too! 🙈
I'd say that your growing medium is too far down behind the rim of your grow bags, the sun is much lower in the sky during winter/dry season. Professional growers use winrows to grow in and plant at least 300mm deep....so in a grow bag....200mm min depth with the soil/potting mix 30mm below the rim to allow for the mulch.

I admire your bravery picking mulberries in a white top 😄
Haha! I didn’t think about that too well did I! Luckily I didn’t get any stains on it, just on my hands! 😬
Oooh. So jealous of your cauliflower. You have given me confidence to try again.
They were pretty easy to grow. Just have to make sure it’s the right season. They are a cool weather crop. ☺️
The restraint you showed whilst picking those mulberries! It would've been one for me one for the bowl! 😆
I know! I really wanted to weigh them and see how many there were. We ate quite a few after that though! 😬🌸🌽🥬🥦🍅

@@risslittleveggiepatch Sorry not sure of the brand but they are about 1.8 high and about 0.75 wide.
Thanks for that! 🙂
What a bumper harvest Larissa! So interesting in the difference in potato sizes depending on where you plant them!
Thanks Hannah! I will crack the code for large potatoes one day! Lol! Thanks for watching! 🥔🧅🥦🌽🥬☺️
Another awesome video and harvest Larissa! So many potatoes, onions and califlowers! Love corn so can't wait see that as well!

Rustic potatoes are known to grow to a nice size.
Your garden looks very organized and well thought out.
Thanks so much Steven! I’ll definitely be trying some different varieties next year! Fingers crossed I get some large ones! ☺️🥔🧅🌽🥦🍅

Thankyou! It actually works really well!
Wow! some of those onions were huge! Great work Larissa!
Thanks Jane! Weren’t they! I don’t know how I’m going to eat that huge one! It will take all week! lol! 🤣🧅🥔🌽🥦🥬

I’m jealous of your weather, I got my cucumbers finally planted and then we had 2 nights of unexpected frost and they are gone 🙁

Nice harvest mate!! Where did those potato grow bags come from? They're solid as!!
Thankyou! I got them from Aussie Gardner Store. They are really good quality! I highly recommend them! ☺️🥦🥔🥦🌽🥬

Wow! I need to give onions a go next year. What variety did you plant?
Hi Anthony! Yes you should! They are really easy to grow! This variety is Hunter River Brown. I tried seedlings from Bunnings last year and they did really well too! ☺️🧅🥔🥬🍅🌽
Potatoes are heavy feeders. Big potatoes require lots of food
Ok thanks for the tip! I did put loads of chicken manure in each pot when I planted but might need to give them more during there growing season! 🙂🥔
