    I think what might be the most impressive is that you used a tail stripper, I've always skinned them all the way out... Then again skinning one in under 18 minutes while doing a demo video is pretty impressive too. Great info as always pick... up a few things and it only part 1....caught a 31#er yesterday....it was amazingly larger than any other that I've caught so far...looking forward to 2&3!

    Otter crap is hard to get off your hands. To all you fellow outdoorsmen, I hope you use gloves. I just skinned one in the woods and my hands still smell horrible after washing them. Thank you sir for this video!

    Hey great job!, Just a little note i noticed that your skinning it dry, I dont know if you have trouble with your Otters being considered singed but i used to when i handled my otter dry. My grandfather taught me to keep them damp untill there on the stretching board and now i get top lop otter. Just a tip. GREAT VIDEOS!!!!

    • @CoonCreekOutdoors
      @CoonCreekOutdoors  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      NADJIWON CRITTERCONTROL Ive never had a problem with them grading as singed. I have heard the same thing about keeping them damp. I think using the pvc beam may have something to do with it also

    Hey stu got a question for ya. You reckon that number 2 coil spring dukes are alright on beaver. That's all I got and I don't got the money for any conibears at the moment

    • @CoonCreekOutdoors
      @CoonCreekOutdoors  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      chase partee a number two would not be my first choice for beaver. not by a far cry. but if its all you have then you might as well use em, just set for front foot. more than likely you are going to end up with a bunch of snapped traps and toenails. personally i would just wait until i have the proper size trap for the job so I'm not educating the beaver. just my thoughts. best of luck hope you get em

    and also have you tried to put him in the wash before skinning ?

    • @CoonCreekOutdoors
      @CoonCreekOutdoors  9 ปีที่แล้ว

    once home tanned, dried and broke, how do I repair or replenish singed otter pelts to look better? thanks

    • @CoonCreekOutdoors
      @CoonCreekOutdoors  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      A otter becomes singed when the guard hairs are lost no getting that back. You can shave the entire pelt to make all the fur uniform.

      That's a pathetic comment on multiple levels.
      He's from Illinois, not exactly southern.
      Obama's career started in Illinois.
      Abraham Lincoln, the great republican who freed the slaves was from Illinois.
      So yeah, Illinois is clearly a super raschist state currently and has been in the past.
      And your so close minded that you honestly think one person can't dislike another person based on merit, job performance, or just disagree with their agenda and it has to be based on race?
