The hotdogs definitely look like they been sitting in water for about 60 years. It's how your fingers look when you been in the bath too long. Deep fried dogs not supposed to look like that 😂
I grew up on Hot Grill, Rutts Hutt and Cousin Joes(deceased, no longer in business). Just seeing this place brings back soooo many memories! Salute you JL for showing love to our 'round the way spots!
Been there since my Elementary, High school and after College by 1985. In 1988 started working at Okonite Cable, and, my Ĺunch stand was TheHotGrill. Loved playing basketball since 1981 1970's, my parents used to take us to slide down the snowing hill righton front. N.J. is the best State in USA. PERIOD Let's Keep America 🇺🇸🇵🇷Great🇵🇷🇺🇸
Happy Anniversary to the young couple there. Man completely loving the positive channel and the food. Keep doing vids and showing people solid places to eat.
JL, Up north, the phrase is “all the way”, which is what ever you are ordering plus fresh chopped onions, mustard and chili (aka sauce, aka gravy). So you ordered two dogs all the way and a burger all the way. Keep up the great work, brother!
My home town! Haven't been there since 87 but we'd jam then go there for dogs. Deep fried, spitting and splitting. Went there since elementary school (#2) in the 60's. Rut's Hut has the beef barb. Both classic heart trouble places. There's also the Castle for more gourmet Clifton fare. Rut's Hut has seating in the front. Waitress.
After that anniversary tale from those kids(!) I'm already lovin' this place. Never got to Rutt's even though I passed by it often when on the road, but I would go here in a minute. All those regulars can't give you a bum steer. 😏🤠
My home town. I'm from Passaic, and I follow you every where in Jersey. Don't have to go there cause I already know. Enjoy lot has changed since I been there.
@Tamiko Smith, I to from Passaic NJ, by the projects ,Aspen pl. Class of 79. Know alot of Smiths and when to school with alot Smiths, white and black . Living in Houston TX now. RUTT HUTT IS THE SPOT TOO!
Awesome to finally see you up North around our neck of the woods 😂 I've had Hot Grill a few times throughout the years. Love the fries either way with gravy or sauce. When I'm in the mood for a hot dog, you gotta go with "all the way".
The couple that's been married for 60 years warmed my heart. I've never been to any of these places because I don't visit NJ but the food y'all had looked really good.
I grew up in that area. For a “plain” dog I prefer the ripper at ruts hut. When I want an all the way dog I prefer the Hot Grill. Either way you can not go wrong!
The food tells you a lot about the , and you will taste the understanding and experience love, and Unique why the food is prepared. The chili dogs large size, the chili dogs, gives you the flavor you’re looking forward to having.
JL you definitely put me on some new spots thanks. Hot Grill is a local gem try to make your way to Kikiriki in Paterson ribs n chicken with the sauce bustin
Went there after CYO on Friday nights with my boyfriend back in 1961. Got married and moved to CT. But everything we made a trip to Jersey (and there many because my and my husband's family lived there) we would bring back the hot dogs all the way for our 6 children. I now live in Florida but my now adult children still go there. Just looking at those hot dogs I can still remenber the delicious smell.
I've been going there for 30 years. I get the french fries with cheese and gravy not chili. The gravy you had without the chili meat is what I put on my cheese fries. You can buy the gravy in containers to go.
Cheese and gravy be rocking there, all the way sauce dogs amazing, been to the place a thousand times, Johnny Haynes in Paterson was awesome too they moved to fair lawn
I'm from NJ but grew up going to Rutts Hut. I know theres a debate over those 2 places. I've wanted to stop at Hot Grill but never have. Its not that close to my home and I usually just want to get back home whenever I'm near it.
You are always so kind to all of your restaurants. I am not convinced you like their sauce. Cumin is like cilantro. Some people adore cilantro, and others say it tastes like dish soap. Cumin is one of those spices where you either love it or hate it.
Their Roast Beef sandwiches are the best on earth, yall missed out... Get the platter, gravy on the side, their gravy is amazing. Personally prefer them over Rutts hut but can't go wrong either way
The dogs themselves have so much flavor I can eat them plain. Dip it in your vanilla milkshake so that salty sweet combo. Used to do that as a kid. Sometimes I still do.
Hot Grill Is Awesome! So Is Rutt's Hut Nearby! Check Out Hiram's In Fort Lee!!!!!!! You Have To Try White Manna In Hackensack For The Burgers If You Haven't Already!
Hot Grill for sure! Don;t sleep on the cheeseburger all the way! Lots of history with the all the ways . I started eating them at libbys in Paterson and Falls view in Paterson..
Hot Grill is great, I tried Rutts Hut but I would choose Hot Grill over them anytime. Only critique on the Grill is the wiener is Pork only (not beef) since my last visit years ago when I was in the area and the cost is up there especially if you are ordering big. Overall the Grill is still worth the trip.
The term "all the way" is a North Carolina staple. It means chili and coleslaw. You order it as a footlong all the way or cheeseburger all the way I'm in Pa but I'm from Salisbury NC. We also have a dip chicken located in Cleveland NC. The place is called Frankie's Chicken Shack. Ahy body using the all the way term up here is a ohony
I don't what's more impressive the food or the couple that's been together for over 60 years!!!
The couple for sure
The hotdogs definitely look like they been sitting in water for about 60 years. It's how your fingers look when you been in the bath too long. Deep fried dogs not supposed to look like that 😂
60 yrs of being together and she stuck around on a glizzy diet. That's definition of a ride or die.
@@ryand9036 definitely the couple I can’t keep a girlfriend for than a year 😂

Sixty one years of togetherness. Congrats to them. So amazing...
love seeing the old couple showing the pocket watch. time capsule in a conversation
Been going to Hot Grill for 30yrs! Used to play basketball across the street at Nash Park! The best in NJ for me 💯

I wish you 36 more, Blessing to both of you.
We stayed up in there in my high school days.. thanks for showing love to a classic spot
Hope you truly enjoyed. Been going there since a kid. I also get a tub of their sauce to have at home.
That’s cool you featured the song in the intro that was playing at the restaurant. King Canyon- Mulholland is a good jam.

60 years wow !!! And still together❤
Wow glad they are getting the love, I’m in Atlanta and when I come home to Paterson that’s my 2nd stop after White Castle 😊
Awesome to finally see you up North around our neck of the woods 😂

Wow JL you make great connections with people out there and show us great dishes. Interesting style hotdog!
Love this place! Took my daughters there when they were toddlers. Even bought them the Hot Grill toy van.
I really like the human touch, the interviews. They give a flavor of the place's heritage. I've been to Rutt's Hut, need to try Hot Grill.
Any day I see you've posted, I know its a good day. Many thanks.
When I used to live in Passaic NJ, I loved Midtown Grill and Rut Hutts. Fridays night or some we hanging at white castles

Great review, happy anniversary to the couple. Here's to many more
My family and I use to go there. Now each time I go home to Jersey it’s a must have.
Went there after CYO on Friday nights with my boyfriend back in 1961. Got married and moved to CT. Quote of the Year: “ it’s like - pic your own heaven” .. point well made .. lol
I've been going there for 30 years. I get the french fries with cheese and gravy not chili. The gravy you had without the chili meat is what I put on my cheese fries. You can buy the gravy in containers to go.
The food looks good and you guys are enjoying it too much, you'll making me hungry. I like my dogs all the way.
Great video gave me Bourdain Vibes! Keep up the great work.
This is my spot! Next time try the cheese fries with brown gravy🔥
My go to order is a double cheeseburger all the way, onion rings, and a strawberry shake! Got me homesick watching this.
Good place. Always giggle when I see it spelled, "Weiner."
I'm so happy you finally tried my spot!!! You have try the Texas weiner in Plainfield, NJ it's the BEST SPOT!!!!
J&G too in Dunellen.
Italian cheeseburger at Kennedy fried chicken in Plainfield. I love some Texas Weiner as well as Red Tower chicken gyros.
I love a great Dog... Especially a spicy half smoke.
Cheese and gravy be rocking there, all the way sauce dogs amazing, been to the place a thousand times, Johnny Haynes in Paterson was awesome too they moved to fair lawn
My favorite Lunch spot. Burgers and fries with the magic sauce and Root Beer for the rinsing

JL, you really know what you're doing.
Nothing but love for you.
🥰🥰🥰
Fries look like they come from the standard 20lb box of frozen industrial fries.
You forgot to tell us to look away 😅
That’s my daddy’s watch!! Eddie Murphy voice lol
61 years together, that's a fucking COUPLE right there! That's love in the purest sense.
JL straddling the fence on this one haha
My old stomping ground, LOVE THE HOT GRILL!
Hot Grill Wins because of the ‘All the way’ Dog and Burger
You are always so kind to all of your restaurants. I am not convinced you like their sauce. Cumin is like cilantro. Some people adore cilantro, and others say it tastes like dish soap. Cumin is one of those spices where you either love it or hate it.
No it's how the cumin is used cooked n mixed up
Great job always
"did you get it? yeah i got it...." lmao
Now Go Check out The " Mid Town " on Main Street in Clifton 😊 or Johnny and Hanges in Fairlawn
Midtown is gone, I was just drove by the old Clifton Post office building few weeks back and saw it was now another restaurant.
Rocking that Cunningham jersey!
Their Roast Beef sandwiches are the best on earth, yall missed out...
Get the platter, gravy on the side, their gravy is amazing.
Personally prefer them over Rutts hut but can't go wrong either way
Sunday April 2nd 2023 watching this foodie video with JLJUPITER
I was listening to hear if he said the hotdogs were deep fried lol cause if not they looked like some old ass gas station hotdogs 😂
Right, all wrinkled!
I love them both!! Different but both really good!! Love the couple how cute is that?
Your buddy takes some monster bites! Great videos
Get you a woman you can take to get a hot dog on your anniversary and she’s happy. You’ll be with her for 60 years guaranteed 💓!

We say all the way in the south. I live NC and all the way usually means chili, slaw and mustard
