      @@kratoscar2008 Do you mean he was the only one to do the "king" gimmick and make it successful? Cause if that's what you meant then I agree.

    He may not have had a legacy in Impact, but to say he didn't have much of a legacy at all is a bit unfair. He was one of the best guys WCW ever had. Sure he was no Sting or Flair, but Harlem Heat was probably tied for the best WCW tag team ever with the Steiners. And his singles career wasn't exactly remarkable, but he was still entertaining.
    WWE, it took him some time to fit into, but he eventually made it work. And now he's training young wrestlers (including the new ROH Women's Champion) and had his own promotion. So I'd say things worked out well for him. He had some snags in his career, but who hasn't? He's one of the best of all time. And if you don't agree, I'll hit you with an ax kick.

    Something interesting is that RAW vs Smackdown 2008 (Booker T is in) came out in Europe 2 days before Booker made his debut in TNA and two days after in North America. So the game was out before and after days before Booker made his TNA Debut.
    I wouldnt say he ruined himself in TNA tbh like i think him having a change of pace from WWE was good and i felt like he did all he could in WWE. Plus it was better than feuding with Boogeyman. His run was a bit meh tbh especially when the main event mafia formed since like steiner he was just kinda there but unlike Steiner he wasnt too funny on purpose or accidental. His commentary was fun and painful at the same time. Id argue he was the weakest member

    Booker’s Afrikaan gimmick was gold. The leopard collar robes were gorgeous, the Legend’s belt was gorgeous, the accent was hilarious and the good old flipping out and reverting to his normal accent was always funny too. Big fan of the promos that foreshadowed it at Victory Road 2008 as well. With his house tour and business “portfolio”. Love it.

    No way, he was one of the most over cross over stars in tna. He was a main event player and even had a title created exactly for him. His run with main event mafia was funny and gold. All his matches were always entertaining. From 2007-2010 booker t was the man in tna.
    Had he had stayed with wwe back in 07 and never left he would of probably ended up retiring from in ring competition a few years later if he stayed.

    I think personally the reason why Booker T went to tiene was because at the time he was burned out from the WWE schedule which back then was 300-plus days a year plus he violated the wellness policy and was suspended for 30 days I believe and he actually asked for his release in October 2007 2 months after his last match with Triple H at SummerSlam so I feel like the reason why he went to tiene was so he can have a lighter schedule and when have to put his body through the hail and Punishment of the WWE schedule

    It wasn't that Booker T's Impact Wrestling career was bad! it was the fact that he was in Impact Wrestling in the first place. He was just another former WCW and WWE star taking the spot light from the younger guys.

    “Unfortunately potentially great match was ruined by interference” describes like 75% of the good matches TNA had.
    I don’t know why they thought destroying their own matches constantly was a good idea.
    I think I eventually stopped watching tna when in one episode literally every single match was ended by outside interference or ref bump+weapon. And I realized I couldn’t care about their matches anymore, because they didn’t take any of the actual wrestling seriously

  • @vulcanworf7422

    Booker t recently talked about his tna run he said it was good in the beginning then the rest of it he just went through the motions and just collected a paycheck throughout the rest of his run. I personally found booker's run pretty decent especially when he was on commentary during that main event mafia segment.

  • @pikkon899
    @pikkon899 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The only one who was genuinely uncomfortable during Scott's promo was Kurt. You can tell Kurt had an awkward smile and a fake laugh going on. Sting was the only one who kept a straight face. Booker went there for a main event spot. No question about it. When he didn't get it like he wanted it, he stopped caring and it was obvious. Booker made the choice to go to TNA so this is solely on Booker's hands. The check was the only thing keeping him there.
