Not Home Ec now.... It's Family and Consumer Science... Home Ec was too girly and everyone knows that NO girl now ever wants to have a home and cook and sew... They all 'want' to be working professionals. 🙄 We complained because we didn't have a choice to be anything besides a housewife, (or teacher, nurse or hairdresser if you HAD to.) But, now, sadly, most girls don't have the opportunity to stay home with their kids, if they want to. We basically just went from one extreme to the other. (So, did we really win women's lib, or just trade for another kind of stuck?) Sorry... It hurts my heart to know that most moms only get a few weeks, or if they're lucky, months at home with their new babies. I was very, very lucky and got to stay home with my kids for a few years. There were a lot of trade offs living on just one income, but it was the absolute best and I wish every woman/family got to have a choice and opportunity, if they want to. Even if staying home is only while the kiddos are really little, or not, and going back to work as soon as mama is ready (as long as it's by choice!) Anyway, I just looked it up and there are only about 6000 schools left in the US that offer anything like Home Ec or "Family and Consumer Science" at all! They say that most schools couldn't afford to continue teaching the classes (???) and "girls are more carreer oriented and not interested". 🤯

these were basic tips taught in home economics classes
bc of the stupid school system/sgovernment who believe this skills are no longer important there are no longer taught, therefore these "tips" seem magical and wonderful and mesmerizing.
while really they common knowledge to people in the sewing/tailoring line
it comical how you people kill me, how you come cross things, things the world used for decades and try make it's like some new discovery.
NOTHING IS NEW
it's all been done before, just forgotten
that's all.
