@@KDbooks I think I liked his debut more, or atleast that one still lives rent free in my head and this was very fun for me to read but I am not sure if it will stick around. We have a book discussion for it at my local store Monday and I am excited to see what people think.
Sounds very mysterious, love a novel where you don’t know who to trust. The different iterations sound so intriguing! Great review, I’ll look out for this book.
I did buy the book myself, actually preordered and read it. Trust is easily the best 2022 book I have read. I am hoping it will be on the Booker longlist, assuming its publisher submitted it to the Booker Committee for consideration.
Although, depending on the other nominees, I don’t know whether I’d put this at the top of the Pulitzer list, I think Trust may have a good shot at it based on a boost from his debut novel making the final list when it was eligible. Some parts of Trust went slowly for me, but you could argue that those parts were really written by Vanner or Bevel (Ida). There’s certainly some authorly ingenuity to that.
I did not trust Trust… I was like this isn’t workkkklling and then the very last chapter I was like mmm I guess you told a story. That first chapter was so ballsy. At the end I was like… so you sucked for near half the book… but on person. I respect that tbh. Lol Huh the cover here is better. Always surprised when that happens.
A 10/10 from you?!! 😱😱 Better move it up the tbr
Dammit Kieran! I had dismissed this book as one that I didn’t want to read and now…. Dammit!!
Just finished this today and happy I finally get to watch this!
Give me your thoughts

The Wolf of Wales Street! Great book, great video.
When Kieran deploys the piano for a review you just know it’s gonna be a banger.
I wanted more Ida!
As always, you inspire me to read. Great great video. Crushed it.

I unanimously predicted it would win.

I wasn’t sure about this book because of fear abt the technical language, but you’ve swayed me.

It is on the Booker longlist. Is it also on the Pulitzer?
gosh can’t wait to read it tho!!
The structure of this novel is going to get myself addicted.
The subject matter sounds like everything that does not interest me but I'm a sucker for some experimental fiction and this sounds great
