    I have used this method since the first time I tried Kumihimo, and when I commented on someone's channel, I was roundly ridiculed; however, I can often make 3-6 bracelets per day using this "to & fro" method. I also realized early in my beading that to change the direction of the spiral, just tie a tight knot around the area where you want to add a large hole bead, braid the length of the area needed to include the big bead, then switch to "left DOWN" and "RIGHT UP". I'm glad to finally see someone else sharing this method. THANKS!

      Don't worry about what people think. You do what's comfortable for you when you choose whatever method to use. I have a disk at home that I'm side-eyeing lol. I'll try this method first and see how it turns out. Have a great day and thank you for sharing your comment. It's nice to chat with fellow crafters.

      Thanks Pru - really interesting. I wonder how easy it is to undo the braiding when you make a mistake - is it harder than the conventional approach. Unfortunately I do make mistakes - lots of time lapse between doing kumi projects.

      very good video but .. in my opinion.. i always prefer the other view when we see the kumihimo disk as if it was in front of me..the part when we see you face to face is quite confusing sometimes... at least for me :-) thankx for your work !

    This is great - I had no idea that there was a handle option. I have trouble with my thumbs and needlepoint was difficult. This is the same pinch grip, so I am very happy to know that I can use a handle and hold the disk in a comfortable position. Thank you for the speed braiding tips. Very helpful.

    I have an intricate counted bead project on my disk right now. I will try this out immediately to see if it works for me. Thank you, Pru.

    I had booked in for a workshop on Kumihimo when I discovered your tutorials, and I am positively delighted them. You are just a joy to watch and listen to. Your tutorials are easily understood and very comprehensive, I have learned so much from them, although I am still a beginner. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. I have looked at your website (not being a whizz on the computer), but I can't seem to see any of your patterns for sale (or don't look in the right places) Do you have them for sale? It is more the placement of beads that I need help with. Many thanks once again, aussieKrys

      Hi Krys, this is the link to the shop on my website. There are several pages and the tutorials are on the later pages.prumihimo.com/shop/
      I am so glad you have found my videos useful. There are now over 50 of them! In addition there are other instructions on my website under the 'Resources' tab.

    I'm not sure, so turning the board left or right the spiral is the same? What if you only use the same 4 strings. Thanks for reminding me I have so many jewelry making things, I forgot how many discs I'm going to start again, you produce beautiful prices and I should give it another shot. Thanks a lot. I'm disabled and I forget more than I'd care to admit.

    Can you make a video about this pattern-creating app? I'm not sure to pay 21 € for an app which has only a few pictures in the app store for explaining.

    Why is satin cord encouraged for this style of braiding?

    • @Prumihimo
      @Prumihimo  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      JACK ATTACK - It is good to learn with because it has a slippery surface, making it easy to achieve even tension. Howeve, you can use pretty much anything you want to and you can get some great results if you experiment with different yarns and cords.

    I must not be seeing more about this pattern on your webpage, you indicate in the video you will be leaving more about this bead pattern on your webpage. The only thing I found on the webpage was a picture of the disk with a few beads showing and a link to this video. Do I just repeat that sequence shown in the picture? I would like to try making me one of these for spring...thanks...

      Sorry Glenette. I have been a bit slow to get the information written up. I will get it done in the next few days. Sorry to keep you waiting, but it is a cute design, so I hope it will be worth the wait!
