I started my channel about 4 months ago and I really appreciate tips like this. I kept trying to grow my IG and I spent so much time on it up till the point I hated it. And I realised, IG just isn't for me, I'm not good with photos, I'm not good with stories and the constant uploads. In the end, I stopped IG and use the time for TH-cam engagement instead. It really helped when we focus on what grows and not what 'might' work.

So so helpful! I always get caught in that trap of “I need to grow my other socials to grow my TH-cam” and then I waste time scrolling or aimlessly posting on tik tok or Instagram. I always have to remind myself growing TH-cam is the goal, so spend the time working on TH-cam!

I started watching you about 10 days ago and I have learned so much! I searched for how to do a you tube, and found you. You are the best! I am now getting ready in the morning, hair, makeup, getting dressed! and what a great feeling rather than sitting around, working in jammies! Also the 30 minute stay on task exercise! oh yeah, took me 3 starting overs re-setting to 30 minutes, and getting thru it without getting side tracked!!! This is a great video! I have always been pretty good at time management, but also find myself distracted by other things! When I get really in the zone I can spend hours working on something, but if I’m not really in the mood then it may take me longer. And example of this is my TH-cam videos it can take me between 20 to 40 minutes to film a video and another 20 to 40 minutes to edit it depending on how long the video is and what extra things I need to do when editing! I’ve found that if I’m super focused, I can actually film and edit a video in a very short amount of time and it still turns out really good!

Thanks Cathrin. You're absolutely right concerning the timing technic (often called Pomodoro technic) being a game changer. I use it when programming web apps in order to focus exclusively on a task instead of jumping from my mailbox to twitter etc. I also limit my TH-cam sessions to one pomodoro and then go back to programing or executing whatever task i planned for the day. We can waste time 'actively' procrastinating without being fully aware we're not doing anything really productive.
Ι had a lot of views on one of mine, but I think it was random, for some reason youtube picked it up and it got 1.5k views when usually I get around 200-300
I just started with TikTok and repurposing for shorts. One of them got 80k views on TikTok yesterday and the shorts version is at 100 so I wonder if it'll take the YT algorithm longer to pick it up

That last tip sounds great and I'm going to incorporate that into my life. I already do something similar because I know my main procrastination technique is to convince myself a task is going to take hours; I like to turn the tables on myself and just challenge myself to see how much of it I can get done in whatever time I have available. It's amazing how often I exaggerate how long a task will take! I do like the idea of altering that slightly to fit the task to the time available, so thank-you for the suggestion.

I’m a stay at home mom. In our schedule is a two hour “mommy essentials” time. I started with one hour. But I’ve been doing two for years. Sounds selfish but the kids look forward to it as it’s their free time as well or they finish chores homework etc. Hope it helps hang in there 💕

@@Lindsay_Lexus I totally understand! I applaud you for acknowledging it. People can be mean. I started around six months. I made it natural because kids love routine. But I started with thirty minutes. I went to an hour closer to two. And no problem. I think it’s healthy. No tantrums at two or three. My daughter is 15 she and I are súper close. My son 7. I know it’s hard. But that small amount of time just made us so much closer and appreciated. Kids learn healthy attachments. I wish you well.

I started watching you about 10 days ago and I have learned so much! I searched for how to do a you tube, and found you. You are the best! I am now getting ready in the morning, hair, makeup, getting dressed! and what a great feeling rather than sitting around, working in jammies! Also the 30 minute stay on task exercise! oh yeah, took me 3 starting overs re-setting to 30 minutes, and getting thru it without getting side tracked!!! This is a great video! I have always been pretty good at time management, but also find myself distracted by other things! When I get really in the zone I can spend hours working on something, but if I’m not really in the mood then it may take me longer. And example of this is my TH-cam videos it can take me between 20 to 40 minutes to film a video and another 20 to 40 minutes to edit it depending on how long the video is and what extra things I need to do when editing! I’ve found that if I’m super focused, I can actually film and edit a video in a very short amount of time and it still turns out really good!
I'm mostly having a hard time defining my brand and target audience atm. I know generally what niche I want to be in but I still feel like it's a bit broad.

Thanks Cathrin. You're absolutely right concerning the timing technic (often called Pomodoro technic) being a game changer. I use it when programming web apps in order to focus exclusively on a task instead of jumping from my mailbox to twitter etc. I also limit my TH-cam sessions to one pomodoro and then go back to programing or executing whatever task i planned for the day. We can waste time 'actively' procrastinating without being fully aware we're not doing anything really productive.

Ι had a lot of views on one of mine, but I think it was random, for some reason youtube picked it up and it got 1.5k views when usually I get around 200-300

I just started with TikTok and repurposing for shorts. One of them got 80k views on TikTok yesterday and the shorts version is at 100 so I wonder if it'll take the YT algorithm longer to pick it up

That last tip sounds great and I'm going to incorporate that into my life. I already do something similar because I know my main procrastination technique is to convince myself a task is going to take hours; I like to turn the tables on myself and just challenge myself to see how much of it I can get done in whatever time I have available. It's amazing how often I exaggerate how long a task will take! I do like the idea of altering that slightly to fit the task to the time available, so thank-you for the suggestion.

I’m a stay at home mom. In our schedule is a two hour “mommy essentials” time. I started with one hour. But I’ve been doing two for years. Sounds selfish but the kids look forward to it as it’s their free time as well or they finish chores homework etc. Hope it helps hang in there 💕

@@Lindsay_Lexus I totally understand! I applaud you for acknowledging it. People can be mean. I started around six months. I made it natural because kids love routine. But I started with thirty minutes. I went to an hour closer to two. And no problem. I think it’s healthy. No tantrums at two or three. My daughter is 15 she and I are súper close. My son 7. I know it’s hard. But that small amount of time just made us so much closer and appreciated. Kids learn healthy attachments. I wish you well.
