A German biker took the 411 for rallying in Bosnia this year and it performed surprisingly well. The only issue was that the entire headlight assembly isn't built for the kind of strain involved in such use and, well, erm, returning to recently a occurring theme, did very gothy things. Die, disintegrate, go down in misery and demise, infinite eternal sadness. That kind of jazz. Without the jazz. Died to death. Very nice review! 🤗
It's a bike one can afford, reparable most any place (in the world), and leaves the purchaser with the ability to take those adventures (due to costing a lot less). I know three people that have bought the 411 this past year. Glad your wrist is doing better Saffron, take care and have a lot more fun on the Himalayan.
Rode a 2018 model to Nordkapp 2 years ago from Belgium. Whole trip was 8600 km. No problems whatsoever. Getting to Oslo includes 2 days of motorways through Germany, Denmark and Sweden. Stayed around 5000 rpm on the motorway which means 100-120 km carrying a 58 ltrs topbox and 39 ltrs panniers. I would have loved to ride my Suzuki on the motorway though. It's the ideal bike for Norwegian roads if you're attached to your driver's licence.
I bought a Scram 411 in 2022 after riding cruisers for about 20 years, my previous bike being a Shadow 1100. Remains my only form of transport, although I will probably get a second bike this year for longer trips. I don't have any plans to get rid of the Scram.

Slow? Can do 70mph+ easily for 6hrs straight. No problems on motorway, passing traffic etc. Stays with and passes traffic easily with some to spare. 80-85mph is razzing it.

My other ride is a Vmax 1200 I bought new in 2002, that is lovely and low, in fact despite its 620llbs it's easier to paddle than the Himalayan, but if I meet a puddle, I have a three day cleaning job to keep it pristine. Hi Saffy I just bought a green Himalayan and have only done 85 miles so far. It's slow, but that's to be expected from a retro bike and especially a Royal Enfield. They all are so wouldn't be suitable as an all rounder. That's not a problem for me because I have two other road bikes and wanted a bike to explore back roads, tracks and for camping trips. My Honda has a digital dash, but I don't think it would look right on the Himalayan since it's a throwback from the 1950s which is why I bought it. I wanted a retro motorcycle without the reliability issues.

I think YEZDI adventure bike is better than re Himalayan 411.i am from india.in India royal Enfield is getting strong competition from JAWA YEZDI company.jawa yezdi is producing bike with liquid cooled engine.yezdi adventure is the first Indian adventure bike with a liquid cooled engine.yezdi adventure is faster than Himalayan 411.its lighter than himalayan.looks of the both bike are almost same.but yezdi is more powerful than Himalayan .cause its engine can produce 30 bhp power output.yezdi bike is having all led light setup.metre console of yezdi adventure is fully digital including integrated navigation facility.yezdi bike has company fitted type c charging socket.also yezdi adventure bike has 6 speed manual gears.price of yezdi adventure bike in India is around 2,560 British pounds which is almost same with himalyan 411.but yezdi adventure is equipped with 334cc engine.fuel average of yezdi adventure is 30 kmpl.fuel tank capacity is 15.5 litre.top Speed is 145 km.i think yezdi adventure will become popular if it goes to the Europe.you can check that bike on TH-cam
Disagree with light traveling adventure, i know people who have toured on this bike 2up fully loaded and had no issues...horse power is for speed. Torque is for low down power which is perfect for heavy weight on a bike and not speed....soo i disagree with intro.... And this bike was built for india and if you uave been to india you will often see family of 3 or 4 on this bike and Indians are noe getting fat these days....and you wont believe amount of stuff they can and do carry on these bikes.....with no issues...if seat was bigger i expect in india they would put full size cow on the back and torque on himi woyld cope well .

Go girl go 🏍
Chugga chugga chooooo chooooo
This bike is what the price is. Cheap, rust prone, and low quality. It sounds like a tractor but it does the job. I wouldn't take it on a long trip off road but that's me. Honda Africa Twin or BMW GS that's what I would trust.
Doesn't matter what brand and type of bike I ride as long as it is a Kawasaki Vulcan. 😉
I took one out on demo , it was so flipping slow .
Its not a bike for speed! But, it's good for what it does!
@@SaffySprocket As long as you’re happy with it 🙌🏻
So not a fan of the instruments But over all your in love hey Saffy ? I can see why 😉
All is going well until the wheel comments ...
Made you look a little bit childish, unfortunately.
Childish ... :p are you new here 🤣
Royal Enfield must have been cringing when you were describing the typical user
Most people cringe at me it's cool 🤣😎
Calling it light weight is a bit far fetched.
Was machst du nur im Gelände du beherrscht das doch überhaupt nicht !
CB500X or the new NX500 with the new TFT dash any day, Himalayan looks dated, like something from 30yrs ago.🤢
That's what I like about it!!! Although I just can't get use to analogue dashes 😅🥲😅🥲😅🥲😅
@@SaffySprocket yes it does the job, and it is as cheap as chips, but it’s ugly, who wants fork, gators these days, I would rather spend my money on fish chips and mushy peas, there are much more nicer looking and more capable mid range adventure bikes out there Just for a few extra bucks, I ride the same bike as you, the CB50X 2023 model in black.
I wish I’d waited now for the NC 500 Just for that TFT dash.
Ride safe Saffy 👍🏻
411 is old now try new himalayan 452 its better than this
Could do without all the crap up front. Just a speedo and some idiot lights.
Gothy Sprocket wouldn't like it.
