Really frustrating that the Bar adapters aren't more specifically referenced when purchasing. Also with the HD cross bar there is only one rubber seal, which side goes up and which side goes down??? One side has measurements and no rubber, the other side has no measurements but does have rubber. Also in the printed instructions it says a minimum of 24 inches between bars, this video say 27 inches. I am completely frustrated by this simple lack of cohesion and direction.

Would not have understood the printed instructions without this video.
    Installed on round bars.
Could not tighten bar adapters to spec before inserting the bars as per the instructions, because the bar adapter would sink below the level of the bar seat adapter and the timberline tower itself and would make the opening too small to fit the bar into.
Had to install bar adapters loosely, insert the bars, get the width correct by placing on the rails and marking the bars, then tighten the bar adapters to spec.

Why aren’t the bar adapters listed as necessary for installation on the website? I added my car make and model, chose the bars and towers that I have and voila! The Yakima website says that’s all I need.
I now try and install and the bar adapters are listed as necessary but not included. I go to Yakima’s website….and they’re out of stock. Super frustrated that this system has had so many necessary components to buy that aren’t outlined when you try and buy the system.
Where can I get the bar adapters?

Fairly easy to install. Just mounted on a 2022 Ridgeline

I have a 2023 Crosstrek with Timberline + 50 inch jetstream. In what measurement do those timberline thing in the crossbar? I have the inward part of the timberline at "33'' not sure if that's too deep or too close to the edge. :( There's no paper that goes for this info.

I didn't either with my Corebar adaptor until I went back and loosened the CLAMP BOLT (narrator calls it the bar adjustment screw) MORE than "8 times" so that it sat higher in its housing. The Corebar adaptor was then able to catch, not wobble anymore, and I finally got 3 clicks. And yes, I drew blood in the process and needed a bandaid just like the demonstrator.

Erm. . . what bar adapter?

Let me know which bar? I assume you are using one of our recent towers. If so let me know which bar you have and I will list the adapter's part #

Yakima Racks At 1:40, the narrator says to insert the bar adaper, but I didn't have a bar adapter. I have the CoreBars, so they don't require the adapter. Thanks for the quick reply. Cheers.

@@YakimaRacksOfficial The video shows a silver bar adaptor getting screwed in - not part of the Corebar set. Or maybe my 2020 set has it built-in? We are screwing down a black loop.

When installing mine's, I don't hear a gas cap. Not matter how much I tighten it.

Put more mustard on it. The torque Allen driver will feel really tight but will give when you give it the proper torque amount

I don't either. No matter how much I tighten. I worry I am overtightening.

Horribly finicky product, with inadequate instructions enclosed, and then this video with atrocious music...it really seems Yakima wants to piss off its customers.
