    I have a metal sided mobile home with the flat metal roof and I m wondering if I can put rain gutters on the side of the house like you did here? I want to get the rain from pouring straight down the side of my house. Thank you in advance for your response and a roof 9cer is not feasible at this time.

    I think Craig, this is the first video on the subject that I have seen that deals with this clearly and simply and is also applicable to UK products available rather than US biased. What would you say is the maximum horizontal length of guttering to run before a down spout is required? I have a very long barn and other long outbuildings which would really need a down spout somewhere in the middle.

      Many thanks for your complementary comments, I'm not to sure of the max length you'd need, but if you could add additional down spouts then you could also use a deeper flow gutter that takes more water than the standard one I'm using, I'd say it would certainly work well for around 20 to 30 meters in length

    Hi Craig, geat video, really helpful. Two quick DIYer questions....I'm thinking of replacing my half-round guttering with 'square' guttering following the existing pattern of joints/connections etc. 1. Are the bracket fixing points on the facia for half-round guttering the same for 'square' brackets? i.e. take out the existing half-round brackets & use the same screw holes for new 'square' brackets? 2. Current downpipe is round - is there a conversion pipe - round to square?

      You'll need to use square brackets with the square guttering and yes you should get them near fixing close to the same screw holes, if not you can fill them and paint over if wood facias.

      Yes you should be able to buy an adapter top go from round to square for the down spout

    How i wish that here in the Philippines there will be materials that you used for gutter. My problem is our roof made of bricks that has no gutter installed. You have a bright idea Sir! Thank for sharing .

    Have you tried using an extension bit for your electric screw driver, then the drill doesn't need to come in contact with the brackets

    My flat roof is just a OSB sheet roof with no fascia boards. At the moment the rain water just drips of the edges. How would I go about attaching a guttering system in my circumstance?

      Hi mate, depends what the lip edge is like, you can get slim gutters to fit onto it, but remember, to not make the water stand it has to be at a slight angle for the water to run down. Cheers

    Hi Craig, how much roof overhang do you need to the center of the gutter to make sure the rain goes in ?

    • @MrandMrsDIY
      @MrandMrsDIY  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, usually it's about 2 inches, mainly just so it overhangs and the water can go in, cheers

    Why is the gutter not a bit higher, nearer the roof edge?

    • @MrandMrsDIY
      @MrandMrsDIY  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It doesn't need to be with this structure, and its how the roof SIP panels sit on the wall SIP's it had a hang over so it created this depth

      @@MrandMrsDIY And SORRY to say but I copied the same way you installed the rain gutter and ours leaks a LOT of water!! Was told that the gutter needs to be UNDER THE DRIP RAIL / TOP MOLDING‼ Ladies and Gentlemen the rain water will partially follow the drip rail / top molding run down the face and behind the rain gutter! Asked me how I know…
