    Distinguishing between variations of essentially the same technique is important. Less power and more speed, or more power and less speed… different timings on follow ups, different purposes. Good stuff mate.

    sometimes i like to throw a straight right when i use the second body kick because it essentially loads it up when you bring that back leg back to your stance and you can also step off angle after you throw the right or finish the combo off with some more strikes

    Kru told me to hit the opponent while my leg is slightly bent not with a total straight leg but close then push of the opponent by straighten out the leg completely so your leg bounces back land on high foot 🦶 using your calf like a spring then do the same again or a harder variation with more hip twist sending your arms backwards etc like you plan to go trough the target,, you should know at least a few different round kick's and have a heavy bag at home to become a good round kicker.. it's so many different round kick's that you could make a pretty thick book about roumd kick's but I guess average hobby fighters using three four different one's plus the switch kick variations and angle step variations of the same round kick's

    snap back is more of so they don't catch it... speed of kicks it's better if you change the type of martial art kick you are throwing... cuz thai kicks are going to slash through because of the drive of the waist movement you actually either put it down fast or get back to position. if you just want to score go do taek wondo kicks they are fast. it's still a kick. cuz if you kick with no power in muay thai they will catch it they will eat it and catch and sweep you. but I'm not an expert.. they still drive it with their waist but just pull it back or drive it down as a step immediately upon contact.

    Solid roundkick principles and demo. That custom wood bag hanger is sweet! Looks like it's made of 4x6s (?) are those stained softwood or like a teak hardwood? Does it hold up well and adequately stabilize the lateral forces? Looks like a nice alternative to the $pendy welded up steel ones from Monster, Ringside etc..

    • @avopeac6300
      @avopeac6300 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      you are supposed to swing your arms for balance which translates to speed and power. you set up kicks with movement and punches, no one is gonna be inside hooking you when you'd be throwing a roundhouse. if you roundhouse when someone is close enough to hook or can react and close the distance during the kick, the kick would have no power they would just catch and sweep you anyway. it's a slow move that needs an opening

    • @Jacktoriousrexrex
      @Jacktoriousrexrex ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I used to train Muay Thai but went to a kickboxing club just for a free lesson and some exercise. I've literally experienced a coach saying this to someone while I was sparing them. "he's bringing his hand down when he kicks hit him" the dude could not hit me. How is a fist going to connect with your face when you're throwing kicks that naturally keep your apponent at a distance where it's not possible? Your head is about as far away from them as it can be when you throw a kick. As someone else said swinging your arm back as you kick generates all that power like a scissoring motion. If you were throwing a kickboxing point style kick without the arm movement you're more likely to get hit.

    Thats not a snapkick. The snapkick you keep chambered longer and snapping at the end.
    Perfekt example is inside legkick on rear leg. Telegraph a thai lowkick so the opponent raises front knee to block. But you keep the leg chambered untill u pass the block then snap hard on the opponents rear leg.

      @@BumleyGames Yeah I missheard I guess. He says snapback. Never heard of this and to me the two kicks looks almost the same.
      To score points in tkd you would use a snapkick.

    • @BumleyGames
      @BumleyGames ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@staarfajter922 I practice MT and the kicks here are similar but slightly different. The "snapback" has a more direct path to the target, lifting straight up at a 45 degree angle. The first kick the normal kick also has more rotational force applied by the turning of the upper body and more pivoting on the standing leg, whereas the "snapback" the kickers torso stays relatively stationary and you pivot slightly less which allows you to recover much quicker and get your leg back into your stance. I've never personally heard the term "snapback" kick but these two styles of kick are definitely taught, it's good to mix both the same way you might mix different kinds of punches with varying amounts of power and directions.

      @@BumleyGames Ahh yes I see. Its the kind of kick stiff people do and the beginners ;)
