My mom tracked down my Nana's half sister and they met on my nana's 60th Birthday as a surprise. It was glorious. My nan died 7 years later of cancer. I am so glad my mom did that. Never wait to join what God put together, love is such a blessing. I am so pleased this family has more of what their hearts were seeking. May God bless you all and peace be yours forever more.
Im 54 and have been searching all my life for my Birth-Family this gives me Hope, Thank you! I finally sent off for my Ancestry. excited but for some reason alittle bit scared. waiting for it to get here.
Something like this happened in my family in my grandfather's generation. My great-grandfather had an illegitimate child as a married older man. Unfortunately this long-lost half-brother named Robert wasn't interested in finding out about his natural father until after my grandfather's generation had all passed away and he was quite elderly. His younger biological brother was looking into it for him on the sly in case Bob ever became interested and had found us using Ancestry prior to the DNA offering. I actually corresponded with the brother about something entirely different before we connected with Bob.
My mother lost contact with her father when she was nine years old. Her father was called back to Italy his home country during WWII. She never heard from him again. I found out through my genealogy research that he married another woman. I have yet to find out if he had children with that new wife. There's a possibility that he had children with her? That would mean my mother has half siblings out there somewhere? Thank you for sharing your story. 💞
My name growing up was Marie Claire.Thinking nothing of it When I got to be twelve years old . I was making my Conformation as I am a catholic. My mum as I thought of her gave me my birth papers and not to open them A month later I got them back and yes they were opened .so I had a look and to my shock not mine. Told the nun all she said was to bring them home so I did. To my surprise my grandmother told me yes that they were mine . My mother s name was Rose Claire . The lady a d her husband were off the same name claire and the people I went on holidays in England where the rest of my family. The lady Rose yes she was my mother. I later found out I had a brother and sister He was 9years older and my sister 3years younger.i never got to meet her as she had passed away. Of cancer she had been adopted as a 6week old baby . My brother and I got to know each other TG He passed away of cancer. He was fostered in kells co Meath left a wife and left 3 sons the family members are still there. My sister left a husband and 1son 1giri they live in Sussex England out side of the town of Eastbourne Sussex where I lived and when I was in Ireland my brother worked just down the road from where I lived in Ireland. There is so much more. But my hands are so painful Oh I forgot my name now is Noeleen Claire Married name is Olsen..
I love seeing happy half sibling stories like this because it's not always like this. I know two people who have half siblings, and their siblings don't want anything to do with them. 😢
I found my mother in laws biological father's family. I promised my husband and his family I would not contact anyone. I've kept my promise but I wish they'd contact someone...I've been waiting for almost 6 years!!!
I have a bunch of DNA matches but none of them relate back to my surname. All are on my maternal line and none the paternal. Guess I'll never know, until I leave this world. I'm the last of my line.

Dale's wife, Polly, is such a nice person. I love how she's as excited about her husband's finding and meeting his half-sister and her family.
Even though they all had just met, they’re all very soft spoken. So happy for them to all be together now.
This gives me hope in finding my mother's biological father and family.
