@@bhadwamodi8294 There were many sad stories happened in war for both Vietnamese and Americans. Without knowing the details, one could not know for sure. After the war, both countries did not establish normal relationship until 20 years later. People on both sides had to move on with their lives. As active soldier, one had to follow order to leave or to stay. Once the communists overran the South, how could he get back to Vietnam to look for her? Vietnam between 1975 to 1995 was like an Eastern block Communist country where normal Westerners were not welcomed and viewed with suspicion. There were Vietnamese parents, in the last days of the war, handed their children to strangers who had ticket to leave Vietnam knowing their kids future would be better with strangers than to stay back home with them under the communists.

These stories always choke me up as someone who's father walked out on them. I've met him only once 15 years ago, and it was not planned. Complete coincidence. It was awkward, and uncomfortable. Even at age 15 I could tell he didnt want to see or talk to me and I found out later that several members of that side of the family didnt even know I existed at all. It always hurt to know my father wants absolutely nothing to do with me, but is happy to raise his three younger children (my half siblings). Seeing stories like this makes me envious in a way, but also restores my faith a bit too. Maybe one day my father will see the light.
So sorry for your experience....hard not to feel anger and resentment for such rejection...but hang in there....things might yet turn around...I could never reject my child...no matter what. I stayed in dysfunctional marriage for 31yrs...estranged for many years...but I HAD to see my children EVERY DAY...not negotiable...until they were educated and could fend for themselves...and still have a great relationship with all three of them...and their spouces.
@BRIANDER100 it's surprisingly good actually. My older brother and sister make effort to talk to me and invite me to things, though unfortunately we live in different states now so it's hard to get together as often. I finally met my 2 younger brothers for the first time a couple years ago when one of them turned 21. He told our older sister to invite me to the party so he could finally meet me, which I had been waiting and hoping for for years to be honest. I figured if I was patient, that eventually they would reach out to me once they were out of his house and no longer bound to his rules, and when they finally did, it really felt good. Unfortunately I still haven't been able to meet my youngest sister, as she just turned 18, but I have hope for that some day too. Even my cousins on that side of the family (who only met me once almost 15 years ago) still to this day make an effort to check up on me on a regular basis. He's pretty much the only one who pretends I don't exist.

A tear jerker!!! So glad they found each other. What a story!!! There are some beautiful endings in this wicked world we live in. I'm so happy for you two.
It's a beautiful world. It's the nut jobs who try and make it wicked for the rest of us.
I can't even fathom knowing having a daughter out there and it taking 50 years. I don't know what I'd do without my daughter. it'd have driven me mad just looking for her. Glad someone was able to put it together for them
Headache, to tell you the truth....
He was not forced to leave Vietnam, he abandoned his pregnant wife like thousands of other American soldiers. He might have Impregnated few more Vietnamese women and his other kids are not fortunate enough to meet him.

What a phenomenal event! Even at 50 years of age, the genuine joy that this beautiful woman shows is awe inspiring! And the culmination of a lot of work on her part by finally uniting with her daddy is well worth all of her hard work. Such an emotional high! Congrats to both father and daughter & I wish you many years of making up for lost time.
Hello how are you doing
Linda is much younger then 50 years of age.
@@cityrooster8983 So, did you listen to the audio of Linda? Do you think she is lying? Why would she make that up? She does look younger than 50, but I believe she is 50. What was your purpose in questioning her age anyway?
She looks like she is in her 30s
Yes,@@kenh5799 I watched the whole video and have seen situations like this. She is lying. I had followed this particular story and now she is disappeared, ,just like all the others did.
50 years is a LONG time, one HAPPY story of the Vietnam war. Thank you for your service to this country and to Vietnam.
So happy for both as a Vietnam Veteran it touched my heart as many more Vietnam’s children wonder where their daddy is today. This was a great success.
Hello dear how are you
I wonder how common it was for Americans to marry and have kids with the vietnamese.
@@865style not common for many reason but soldiers did left many white and black babies to fend for their life. It was not the right thing to do but some did the right thing and married then returned to America with a wife & child,
@@865style Most of those people have immigrated to the US or other countries but are no longer in Vietnam. American soldiers did not have many children with the Vietnamese because most of their love was physical trading. Like the story of French women falling in love and having children with Nazi soldiers.

That's beautiful, her dad never denied her existence, and accepted her with an open heart and open arms😊
She is very beautiful, and looks so youthful. What a great meeting and acceptance from his family now.
This type of good news make me cry, and I'm a pretty tough veteran myself. My father and uncle's served in Vietnam and grandfather in WWII. I am a veteran of Desert Storm 1990-94.
It is so special how just genuinely happy and grateful she was to have met her father. No inhibitions or anything, just pure happiness to finally have him in her life. Sometimes with these reunions you can sense a bit of pain or sadness, probably from all they’ve been through missing a parent in their life but this was just pure joy. So happy for them. Thank you for sharing such a beautiful moment. It gives others out there a lot of hope ❤
It's ironic that this video showed up on my home screen today because my 2 siblings and I just found out that we have a half sister. What a beautiful reunion this is. I think our meeting our half sister will be just as special.
This woman has a uniquely beautiful heart. What a life giving spirit…full of forgiveness and ready to love when offered nothing for 50 years. Wow. I’m sure she has faced a lot of hurt and confusion but she has determined it won’t define her…only love will. She is living an abundant untethered life. She inspires me. She is the blesser and blessing. Just wow.
Yes, his daughter is beautiful both inside and out. A beautiful heart is right.
OK I'm a grown ass man and you are making me cry I couldn't imagine not being able to be with or even not seeing my daughter for so long. God Bless you guys. You better be keeping your word and talking with her every day...
Wow. What a treasure! Her mother did a great job with her.
What a genuine happy reunion between father and daughter ❤ hope they enjoy all the moments together.
What a beautiful story and reunion! She wore a beautiful Vietnamese traditional dress!! So glad they are finally met! God bless them!

I just want to say from a Vietnam veteran daughter Thank you for your service and Welcome home Sir 🇺🇸
I dont know the circumstances and tbh its not my business. All I know is that there is a profound bond and love there. I had tears watching. I wish them both every happiness and blessing.
Who would ever guess that something so beautiful, loving and rewarding could come out of the ashes of a war in another Country??
Thank you sir for your service and may God continue to bless you and your gorgeous daughter. 🙏
Thank you for this video. Made me teary and happy at the same time. I lost my father to stomach cancer when I was 20 years old and I have always known, he is still with me in spirit. This girl got the inverted luck I had, she didn't have her father in her first years of life but she will have him, in the second half of her life. May God concede them many years together. :) He looks like a decent, honorable man, and she seems to be a very smart, educated girl.

This is such a heartfelt reunion. But the veteran could have done many things to make sure he reunites with his then pregnant wife, why did it take 50 years? Sir did you not make any attempt to bring your wife and child to America. This lady carried that love for her father rather than resentment..my respect to the mother who raised her well. Nothing great about this story. He just fucked a random woman in Vietnam and escaped all his responsibility as a father.
This was so awesome, I cried right along with you both. Praise God.
Maybe one day my father will see the light.
what's your relationship like with his side of the family and your half siblings ?
@oscardunn4769 thank you. I appreciate that. I commend you for your situation. To be in a bad relationship for so long for the sake of your kids takes courage. It's clear you love them very much and they are lucky to have you.
