Can't believe that red hook loved Jinx from arcane so much, they named the best quirk after her.
Disease tier list when?
Tantalism is actually useful, if you have move resistance or immobilize. It's just free dodge!
Also the Worries literally just makes stress resistance effects useless, which is only stagecoach items and trinkets, maybe also some effects from Jester
Also Agal Bloom and Diphtheria are the only 2 Diseases that can actually kill you!
Hemorrhagic Fever and Oozes just give you DOT.
Everything else gives you debuffs and random token, more than half are just -HP
You mean an IRL disease tier list?
What i find so crazy about the jinx is that on top of the insane effects it does… it also grants combo at times. I looked at the roles and every frontline tank character (which benefit the most from the jinx) they all love combo. Maa can self heal for free from it using crush, crusader has several interactions with it, leper loves it, etc etc. such a crazy trait that is pretty much an insta lock on all tanks.
Funny how cosmic hater is basically monarch the quirk. Also I feel like bloodthirsty is on par with Jinx just because how stupid 30% damage is. Like, there's only a few things in the game that give you unconditional damage modifier, and even on heroes like vestal occasional judgement with 30% more damage is usually a solid chunk of enemy's hp. But it's just me being a bit nitpicky more than anything lol, everything is nicely put.
Completely agree, it breaks the game when on certain abilities. It allows you to kill things turn 1 that prob shouldn’t have died in 1 turn. Warlock occultist for example is a great character to put it on, and with him being in the backlije he is rarely punished if the vulnerability sticks. I even had something silly like bloodthirsty plague doctor and what happened with that is I could one shot enemies with incision (using surgeon) that shouldn’t have been one shotted. Naturally bloodthirsty scales higher with crits, vulnerability, strength tokens etc. it really allows you to chunk enemies and bosses alike thet make the game feel like easy mode.

Btw Disarmer can only appear in 2 Academic Studies and is not part of any other quirk pool making it probably the rarest quirk in the game? Very underwhelming effect for that lol
Relatively certain that Compassionate is also not in the general pool, because I've never seen it.
I believe Death Seeker and Martyr have a chance to replace Escape choice with Fight when visiting Nodes with battle. Its actually nice for building relationships

Deadly is a little overrated but I still can't resist locking it in whenever it shows up

Agreed, it's a free Gold Crit Trinket that's better and lets you slot in a more unique trinket on your hero etc
The facts that crit calcs off the max damage roll and has a high chance to reduce stress makes have a decent crit INSANE. A high crit hero can almost solo stress heal. Crit dots destroy bosses... Big hit to the shuffle street cred :/
i believe wiki is just wrong on tactical thinker as i used it just a couple days ago and it was definitely dodge +
Could be nice to make a tier list about the negative quirks based on how much they should be avoided
I had a lot of success with Breacher PD; when I did the 5 memories duelist achievement my party was often Occ/Duelist/MAA/PD and between duelist and MAA she was back to rank 3 quickly. Did have her as surgeon to make up for the positioning shenanigans, tho
Lethal faint should be a lock in for me. Just free Crit tokens alone can make massive value. If you're facing enemies with alot of blind, or dodge, you will get those tokens, ESPECIALLY with combat items, which let you immediately spend those. Even disregarding combat items, having a useless turn become a buff is actually crazy. You could compare having this quirk as using Take aim, but you lose a blind token or remove a dodge token from the enemy. Ofc, if you dont miss, you at least still hit. So this quick essentially guarantees that you never waste a turn when attacking or debuffing the enemy!
True that!! I had lethal faint in my Dismas a couple of runs ago and double shot into guarantee crit, especially with mastered, it's GREAT. You can kill those pesky spiders very easily and farm like 2 crit tokens at a time with grapeshot blast
I would rate Defiant, Jinx and Bloodthirsty next to each other depending on the hero. Jinx is cracked and all, but it's also random. The enemy needs to A: target the hero, B: miss the resist, and C: pick an effect that's actually relevant/affects the fight. Over the course of a whole run, the tank is going to be taunted over the nontanks and that's value you're leaving on the table.
IMO, Raw damage DPS get more out of Bloodthirsty and Defiant is huge in panic situations on your squishy supprts/DoT DPS. Sometimes the Elite Enemies Ordained Champion lineup goes over the top of Jinx and suddenly you're playing around Death's Door and you're in a spot where Defiant saves your hero where Jinx wouldn't.
Also Daredevil is basically a negative quirk because it forces Shambler fights.

I lock in Bloodthirsty in my Warlock Occultist. He is a glass cannon with high crit. It's insane how much the quirk helps him. I'd also spring to out it on Shadow GR.
Defiant on my Flag let me spam his abilities maybe 30% more before having to heal him. Though it can though off calcs for being under 50% when you need it.
Sometimes I wish the descriptions were more clearly separated. Got a shadowborn Grave robber and was super happy till I realized the stealth was also a part of the below 50 flame

My FIRST ever dd2 run, the day early access launched my pd got breached and I was so confused.
Tactical thinker does indeed still give dodge+, looks like the wiki needs to be updated, again..
Me when pd has breakthrough (or whatever quirk that moves you to rank 1 and gives taunt with block)

I remember one time i had a character that started with Essentially 0 Quirks, as they just had Thick Blooded AND Thin Blooded, which both do +/-15% Plague Res 😂

you know its bad when i got the jinx on my pd, but the best part is that everytime i get cleaved its always proc lol
i actually took the cosmic hater and locked it on my HWM. The reason being most of the time you lose party member on confession bosses so very good on trying to do grand slam

How about bad quirks tier list? Some of them are not that bad, actually, like "Pyromaniac". Also it's kinda interesting which quirks can stay untouched and which one needs to be removed ASAP. It'll be interesting.

Remove hypochondriac, melophobic, and anything that causes blind or seems super bad, like shattered will.
31:00 Relationship Quirks are too low. All the % affacting all other heroes, so 3× 10 & -5. AND 15% not hate each other is HUUUGE. Its procs after Inn, on the Road, during fights, all the time.
We pay and gambling for better relationships in the Inn and @ShuffleFM puts ALL the Relationship Quirks in the "Its meh" Cat. with the Scounger things?! Please...
More respect for Bon Vivant, Compassionate, Peacemaker, Sunny Disposition
Inn items are way more important to building relationships than random 5% chances imo. The quirk only matters 2 or 3 times a run since the valley doesn't count. Very low impact.

The wiki has all the quirks but I don't think anyone has a doc sheet of it.
I felt like robust was good , how is disease resist a myth?
why does the 2nd part of that game not have anywhere near the positive reviews as the first part had? is the game worse or whats going on?
why not a negative quirk tier list? It could be useful, maybe some players tend to over or understimate some of them

Forgive my newbness but im still playing darkest dungeon 1. Is there a place where i can get a up to date quirk guide? Many of the posts that ive seen are out of date.
I realise this is a subjective tier list but most of these just seem like guesses "yeah idk what that does - perhaps its fine right?"
It's because a lot of them have such a minor thing that it's rarely a factor
