Ruto was ambitious from when he started politics. He knew what he wanted and stay focused on it. Indeed Ruto is a real deal. He made things happen... Kudoz to him. A good documentaries.

Ruto was bound to be president. If not 2022, in 2027 or 2032. He was and still is an unstoppable enigma. He made Raila President, he made Uhuru President, and now has made himself President. The guy is a political genius. Give credit where it's due.

Politically have learnt much via Ruto's political prowess. Between 2013-2017 he controlled most financial crusial dockets. Between 2017-2022 he created tribal control politics (numbers) inclusive of early referees won.
Raila naye is a great guy always beaten on his own game. A times i feel he likes keeping power to himself rejecting thourough oversight on his political future. Were it was Raila between 2017-2022 could have never got to handshake mind game.

I'm not a politician neither am I a kenyan.But I have followed kenyan politics for way too long. One thing I will admit is dismiss William at ur own peril.The fellow is a genius in planning and resonts well with the locals.besides he appeared prayerful than the other side.He may have influenced the results but give him credit for his role.

He couldn't have engineered anything because he had been 'kicked' out of government by the thankless Uhuru.
The internal security minister is the one who was chairing cabinet meetings, not Ruto.
Ruto's vice presidential security (GSU guards who also guard the president) had been withdrawn and been replaced with ordinary askaris whom we call AP (Administration Police).
Ruto was only DP because in KEnya, vide our new (2010) constitution, a president CANNOT sack the DP!
That is the only saving grace for Ruto. He could have been fired had it not been for the law.
Uhuru was frustrating him in oreder for him to quit but people told him not to fold. We told him to hung on.

Moral of the story,be smart dont relax even if the victory is just on your nose tip, Raila knew he will be president, RUTO knew he'll need to work 10times harder to be president..and it payed off.

Ruto presented himself as the change candidate, Raila on the other hand continuity candidate. There are Pros and Cons on either end but change sounds appealing for all.

Uhuru protected the likes of Waiguru before 2017 since he needed them. After 2017, Uhuru did not protect the likes of Waititu, Sonko, Ndindi, and Rigathi from corruption accusations, and Ruto took advantage of hosting all goons citing they were oppressed. Combining dynasty vs hustler narrative, my fellow kikuyus fucked us. BBI was to help Kenyans, but it was critical. Ruto's true colors and leadership qualities will be seen after 2027 if he makes it, the same cycle as Uhuru. Mark this, Moses Kuria and Alice Wahome among others will not be CSs after 2027. Rigathi will never be supported. They will betray and in fact, kill each other before 2032. we will be there!!

There was nothing strategic in Ruto Victory. If there would be, I'd call it "Sympathy Votes technique" My country is brainwashed with religion and Tribalism. Uhuru did not steal his elections, Ruto was the master rigger. Chebukati was Rutos man in ODM. Nobody knew it but what Ruto used to say " mtajua hamna system," was a direct message.
What stopped St Uhuru from refusing to be president after Ruto had purpotedly "rigged" him in? What a useless reasoning. Uhuru and Ruto were covertly reading from the same script but only fooling this jaluo the way Moi and Kibaki had fooled this cheap jaluo.

I guess Ruto had shared his economic ideas to Uhuru when they were pairs, and Uhuru saw how harmful the ideas were. That is why he warned anyone he found on the road not to vote for Ruto. He saw the man as he his. I once told my parents that Ruto can actually make a good president but not when the economy is down.
