"...Not that you care" We care Jake, we care. Thank you for the motivational message by the way, I've got my final A Level exams starting this coming Wednesday. Got 13 in total as I thought I'd retake all the units I got B's in at AS so I could hopefully get as much UMS as possible, but it does mean there's a crazy amount to do :(. If I get the 3As by some miracle, I will actually break down in school and cry until my eyes dry out and my voice goes. Wish me luck!
Jake I have been using your coursework table for over 2 months now. I keep one in my school bag and am printing one off for next week now! Thank you! X
My biggest issue when it comes to revision is that when I don't find something interesting, I get bored and with boredom comes misery, so I'll do something else instead. It's a horrible habit to be in but recently I've been really powering through to get some stuff done. First exam on Monday, wish me luck! :)
Never stress too much - I left my 20,000 word Com Sci dissertation until two days before the deadline. I had notes and ideas but had not even created the document. I sat at my computer for 48 hours solid with no sleep and got it done. I did ok, but decided to plan ahead better next time :D
JAKE NOO!!! Listen I'm just a random 17 year old with a literature obsession and mommy issues but your vlog is what gets me through life sometimes. Whatever you decide to do in life, please continue vlogging. Sometimes I honestly think you're the only honest and kind person on the planet. Who knows we might meet sometime. I just want to say your tutorials on CSS and HTML and study advice are all a big part of my life, just for sentimental value and what an interesting character you are. Really Jake, thanks for sharing your, quite frankly, fucking epic journey with us. I'm sticking to the channel. Good luck and keep updating bro. :) PS/ If you found this slightly weird, don't worry, I did too! ^_^ PPS/ You really do remind me of James McAvoy xD Love from Wonderland (real name is Jean Louis not Greg hahahahaha this is my porn subscription email) Au Revoir mon ami Jake :) enjoy your awesome life and thanks so much for sharing it with me.
Good video. Liked the artistic shots at the end of the drawers and the time lapse dissertation. Hope it's going well. (The only thing bothering me is the lack of "Cambridge vlog 70")
Hey! Do you know how you have to pack your life up and take it back home every two months? What happens if you or your parents don't have a car, is there storage? Or do you have to haul it all back anyway?
Jake, where do you normally learn your programming languages? I'm trying to learn some for a transition to AS Computing; I only really know Python, CSS/HTML, SQL and some C right now.
quick question, I'm Scottish so system is different but I didn't take physics and so won't be able to do it at our A level equivalent, because I didn't think it would be a problem, but now properly researching a lot of colleges like you to have it, was just wondering if you know anyone studying compsci at cambridge that didnt do a phys a level?
jenthebookworm There are definitely plenty of people who haven't done physics. Most do just because they like maths and comp sci and physics complements both well.
You haven't really said much about a job after graduation, which is not that far away. Or are you thinking of staying at Cambridge to get an advanced degree? Just wondering?
It was cool to see the view of the building outside Jake's window. I don't think we've seen the view from that angle with curtains open during the day very often. I liked the time lapse. I have never liked any kind of fish. When I was young I was made to eat fish sticks. Now I just avoid fish. It is a perfectly valid preference. However, every now and again I wonder if I should try some sort of mild tasting fish. I never have wanted to risk wasting a meal on a food I expect to find repulsive. Is anyone able to recommend a very mild fish for a non-fish-eater to try? Is there a fish that tastes like chicken? Many of us do care about Jake's dissertation progress. We watch because we care. :) Are past dissertations available in some way? If I had to write a dissertation I'd like to read a past example of a well performing one for reference. I'd love to be able to read Jake's dissertation when he is done, if it were available. If the graffiti happened over break it may not have been an adult. It could have been a youth program guest if they house them in those accommodations. Jake should document & report it so he isn't held responsible. The sunbathers look rather well covered. I wonder if shirtlessness on formal lawns is frowned upon. For a moment I wondered if ant flavored shots were a thing. We may have become more familiar with some of Jake's friends' posteriors than their faces. ;) I enjoyed the shot of the boats. Creative angles on the camera/food storage scene. Jake's Twitter followers saw this storage change early. Ahh the last bop footage. The end is bitter sweet. I came along relatively late in the present life of the vlog. I am glad that I get to follow along as Jake closes out this chapter in his life and embarks upon the next new and exciting adventure in his life.
Perspectologist Undergraduate dissertation are general kept in the faculty library, which in Jake's case is the Computer Laboratory. It is often possible to read these things in the relevant library, by contacting the librarian in advance. Theses are located generally in the University Library. Speaking as a fish lover, Cambridge colleges generally used to serve a lot of fresh salmon, I seem to recall, but after spending seven years in Cambridge, it took a long while before I could look at fresh salmon again. I think we are witnessing the birth of a talented film maker, who I have no doubt we shall see a lot more of in the future...
Retew Boy Thanks for the background info. It sounds like Jake may have a way to review some past dissertations to help glean an understanding of what is expected. I am unlikely to make it to the Cambridge Computer Science Laboratory in order to read Jake's dissertation. My visits to Europe are rather infrequent these days. Perhaps he will choose to share it in an electronic form for broader review if he is comfortable with that.
Rabin Kandel I've never met Jake in real life, and I may never meet him. I am just another TH-cam subscriber. I suppose having watched all of his Cambridge vlogs has created a bit of a one-sided familiarity. I do feel like I know him through his vlogs - to a certain extent. He probably knows next to nothing about me. That is an interesting dynamic. I am quite fond of Jake. He is a charismatic and inspirational person who has invested himself in sharing with the world. Given my own tendency toward introversion, I really admire that. I love the community he has built around his vlogs and I am glad to be a part of it. I hope that I can contribute some good energy. I just wish TH-cam didn't truncate my longer comments in their iOS Apps. :(
This is actually excellent advice. Shame my course is all coursework in which it can in fact, be too late. Although I, and I'm sure most other people, haven't let that happen (yet) xD
I think I did the short course when I was in year 10...is that the one with the four sections like community cohesion, family, and the other two I don't remember..and the timing is hell But good luck:)
Also, I'm at the end of my second year as a law student (at ruskin) and I know you need a 1st to get into Cambridge for a masters. But do you know anything about the interview process or whether they take into consideration A level grades? Bea x
Can you please answer my question below, How did you get on to study abroad at Cambridge? I mean it's definitely not easy, but can you give me a few tips you've been guarded by so that I can try them out hoping for Cambridge. Besides, I know this comment is too awkward to answer, but please do answer. Thanks in advance. Love, Sota (pseudonym)
Imagine a vlog within a vlog within a vlog with Jake asking, "I don't know where the vlog ends and I begin?" You've just imagined Vlogception. Put away the nerd and become the man, splash some on today. #metrosexuality
Bea Livingstone Students still call it Cindies, the same way still call Kuda 'Life'. For some reason the names just stuck and we learn it like that when we start in first year. Friday is a terrible night for students to go out too, we stick to Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday.
"...Not that you care" We care Jake, we care.

The view of your room is so beautiful! :)
Lovely video, jake :-)
I love this - I was in Cambridge until last year and I relate so much to you!!

Will you continue making video's after you finish Cambridge?
Btw 720p60fps is the best
IkBrengDePost yes, definitely!

Which A-Levels did you take for your computer science course at Cambridge, Jake?
Hey Jake what is the difference between computer science and software engineering ?
omg your camera is amazing! what make is it?
***** The better looking one in this video is a Canon G7X. I alternate between that, a Canon S120, my iPhone 6, and sometimes a Canon 600D.
Loved the new outro.
does he not look like Eric Forman from That 70's ahow
Asdfgh....I'll start tomorrow.

What's the name of the song used during the first 40 seconds in this video? :o
You haven't really said much about a job after graduation, which is not that far away. Or are you thinking of staying at Cambridge to get an advanced degree? Just wondering?

Ah, hatred towards salmon, long time no see... :-)
60FPS
60 FPS is awesome.
✨ snack attack…lol

I hate salmon too....
Damn, 60fps is peculiar for vlogging. Looks nice, but a little nauseating at the same time.
Ha why do you call it Cindys? Its Ballare? And Friday Fez is way better ;)
