@ModelManTom Yeah the model screams for the decal kit. I was penciling in some of the grid lines and went through the decal in the bright spots there near the registry number. Its the original AMT/Ertl kit and I will be doing a Round 2 version with the corrections here pretty soon. Be hitting you up for some of that great LED tape that works awesome on these kits. That's a non paid for genuine plug folks! The stuff is off the hook.
You are correct. You place a bulb facing upward on the inside and don't paint the area being lighted on the inside. In the modeling world it's called the Ratheon method. Who Ratheon is I have no idea but it does add a realistic lighting effect.
@smsno1 The nav lights are from The Old Special Edition Enterprise kit with light and sounds. That kit includes the lights and board for the flasher. The board is too big to fit inside the model and is installed in the base. There are better and smaller ones available now. The rest is just regular LED lighting.
Speechless, just in awe. Come pay day, im getting one. Out of interest Boyd, did you get a complete "Starship lighting kit"? Or did you do the nav lights etc on your own?
Hello Boyd, I know this is a old video but do you know of any place that has these Aztec Decal kit as I will have 2 of these kits I will need these for? I can not seem to find anyplace that still has these or do you know of anyone who has as good as a replacement for them.?
Clarence Smith Clarence the decal kits are out of production and I don't know of anyone that has something similar in decals. There is a painting mask set for it available from Orbital_Drydock though.
That is a B-E-A-Utiful starship Reliant. I really do enjoy your vids, especially on the Enterprise-C. Keep up the fantastic work my friend!

Looks like there is a Lamp under the Plastic
Which brand of paints did you use for this model. The lighting on your model is brilliant, it must have taken a lot of time and effort.
