    I am saving those decals for my 537 scale Star Trek IV Enterprise-A. I will paint them with the Martha Stewart Pearlescent Paints to simulate colored aztecs.

      Are you going to putty & sand to get rid of the "wood grain" effect from the engraved Aztec pattern? I'm curious because I have the ST VI boxing. I wonder if Round 2 would reintroduce the "smoothie" if everyone griped loud enough.

      @@Dragon_Werks As for me, on Model #12, I painted those small panels with Pearlescent Colors. But that was on the 2017 Reissued 537 kit, which I used as a testbed for Alignment and Stabilization Tests.

      @@SeansModelBuilds2017 did you fill the windows and add something clear to the planetary sensor ?

      @@Dragon_Werks I put sprue flash behind the Saucer Rim Windows and painted them white from there. I just added some Pearlescent Colors to the Planetary Sensor. I didn't know about Aftermarket Parts when I built this Model. But I do know now, and I have a whole set from Lake Monster Details for my Motion Picture Refit.

    Micro Set first then Micro Sol. The Sol softens and dissolves the carrier film.
    Are you thinking about using any Lake Monster details for this kit?

    Jerry, Micro Set/Sol are misnamed. Micro Set (blue bottle) is #1, while Micro Sol (red bottle) is #2. I find it easiest to label the lids as 1 & 2. For those who don't believe, just contact Micro Scale.

    Hi Jerry, I'm doing these same aztecs from HDA right now myself. Did you happen to adjust the contrast of this video where you show the decals as stills? My decal sheets are so light and subtle that I can barely see where to trim them and I'm curious if yours are the same way.

    • @TrekFanNCC-1701
      @TrekFanNCC-1701  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, in fact I adjust the contrast for all my photos in order to show all of the details on what ever is in the photo. Best of luck with your build!

      Thank you, I was worried for a minute, but I will be using your stills to help me define where to trim mine!No knock on HDA. The decals are lying down beautifully.

      I am glad my photos could help. I am looking forward to using them. I am still working on painting the four color Aztecing on my 1/350 Refit. The decals will be a nice change. =-) @@oldb-1kenobi

    The better Aztek masks are probably the ones made by Lou Delmaso over at Aztek Dummy for both the 1/537 and 1/350 kits.
