I sometimes feel embarrassed to call him an Aussie, because it feels like trying to bask in his reflection. We were just so lucky to have him be or Countryman, and only hope in the internet age he can get the recognition his talent and kindness deserved.

please forgive my comment as I have no intention of being rude. But there is a really nasty high pitch migraine inducing feedback squeel coming from this recording. Might want to look into that, hopefully its a once off thing.
But awesome reaction, John Farnham is well loved across the globe by many legendary singers and musicians. His name though is not that well known in the public outside of Australia. When listening to any more of his songs I thoroughly recommend making sure all video's are Live Concert recordings. Studio is good, but Live is always brilliant and he really shines through amazingly.
This was originally a Beatles song..... John Lennon got to hear this version in early 1980, before he was murdered in Dec 1980.... and he said, that this was the way he wanted to do this song... but the Beatles manager/music company made them do the upbeat version...... John Farnham is an absolute legend... he's called 'The Voice' for a reason..... not just the song he sings.... 'The Voice'... which was written by a UK man, who wanted to demonstrate against Nuclear Proliferation in the 80's..... he slept in.... didn't make the protest, then wrote the song 'You're The Voice'.... John Farnham took that song and made it an anthem against our governments and the people in power..... xx
