    Quote from New Life newsletter:
    2, 4, 6, 8, What do you Appreciate?
Whatever you do [no matter what it is] in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus [and in dependence on Him], giving thanks to God the Father through Him. Colossians 3:17
If the moon were visible only one night a year, just imagine how much we would anticipate and celebrate that night. Yet because it is such a common sight in the sky, we often fail to even notice it. Even the most magnificent things tend to be taken for granted when they are familiar and easily accessible. On a regular basis, it pays to put some sincere effort into remembering and appreciating all the good things we have. So many of the things that seem common and ordinary, which we rarely even give a second thought, would be severely missed if they were to disappear. In many ways, it is good to be able to rely on the things we’ve come to expect. Just because we can rely on them, though, is no reason to forget about them. Look around you. How many of the things within 10 feet of you would you sorely miss if they were gone? How many other things which bring real value and sustenance to your life do you take for granted? Actively appreciate all you have.
Father in heaven, how truly blessed we are! Forgive us for despairing sitting in traffic, rather than being thankful for a car to be in. Fill our thoughts and hearts with thanksgiving and joy for all the many multitudes of blessings You have given us. In Jesus name, AMEN!
We often take for granted the very things that most deserve our gratitude.

I had a 171 that was as dependable as you could as for over 10 years old unfortunately someone nabbed it out of my truck at the gas station while I was getting a Gatorade

    Quote from New Life newsletter:
    True Strength
For the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel has said this, “In returning [to Me] and rest you shall be saved, in quietness and confident trust is your strength.” But you were not willing. Isaiah 30:15
Strength is often quiet and inconspicuous. Loud, showy and obnoxious behavior almost always is a sign of weakness. Bragging requires very little effort or substance. Working behind the scenes to get things done is what takes true strength and commitment. There’s little need or desire to brag when you’re able to actually accomplish something. True strength is kind, patient, thoughtful, understanding, persistent and effective. Any coward can be cruel or rude, but it takes strength and confidence to be kind and polite. It is easy to complain, but it takes strength to actually follow the positive steps which will solve the problem. To find strength, look not to those who merely claim it. Look to those who live it. It takes nothing to make even the most spectacular promises. You’ll find the real evidence of strength and effectiveness in the results, not the claims.
Father in heaven, help us to live lives of quiet strength, not of brazen claims. Give us the strength to have self-control when someone is rude, to love when it’s hard and show grace to those who don’t seem to deserve it. In Jesus name, AMEN!
True strength is the courage to admit our weaknesses.

    Quote from New Life newsletter:
Does the Past = the Future?
Brothers and sisters, I do not consider that I have made it my own yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead. Philippians 3:13
A major source of discouragement is the mistaken assumption that the future equals the past. It is difficult indeed to keep going when a previous experience has produced so much disappointment. But the fact is that life does not have to follow a straight line. At any point, it is possible to change direction. Great accomplishments often come on the heels of bitter disappointments. Rather than assuming that you’re doomed by your past, consider all the ways you can create a bright future. Each day, each moment is a new opportunity, independent of what has gone before. Learn what you can by looking back but spend the bulk of your time and attention looking forward. The past may be full of despair, but you don’t have to live there anymore.
Father in heaven, no matter what our past may look like, help us to live looking forward to what lies ahead. Thank You that Your mercies are new every morning! We don’t have to live based just on what has come before! In Jesus name, AMEN!
The past doesn’t equal your future… unless you live there.

    Quote from New Life newsletter:
    Out of the Heart
You brood of vipers, how can you speak good things when you are evil? For the mouth speaks out of that which fills the heart. Matthew 12:34
Much of what’s on the outside comes from what’s on the inside. External situations ultimately are the result of internal values and thoughts. Unfortunately, we too often allow the negative external circumstances to control our internal thoughts, which in turn affect the external circumstances. The result is that we get stuck in a rut of negative thinking and negative reality. Your internal thoughts are separate from the external world. Sure, you can internalize, comprehend and consider the external world in elaborate detail. Yet on the inside, you have the ability to be completely independent. You have control. Even people who are in physical bondage can control their own internal thoughts. There’s no reason for your thoughts to reinforce any negativity in the world outside. Break the downward spiral. Take a positive initiative with your own thinking and experience what a difference it truly can make.
Father in heaven, thank you for this reminder, that we live from the “inside out”, just as the old song says. Forgive us for thinking we can think one way and live another. Help us not to be double minded, but rather to place a guard on our hearts and minds, that even our thoughts would please You. In Jesus name, AMEN!
What comes out of your mouth is determined by what goes into your heart.
