I would like to thank a few people Melvin @ Capital Helicopters for allowing me to take footage on the work site website: www.capitalhelicopters.com/ instagram: / capitalhelicopters Vanessa: @ Drone North for enlightening me about her operation website: dronenorth.org Rueben @ Reuben gray music for creating the Audio Tracks for this video and more to come spotify: open.spotify.com/artist/77V2Z... instagram: / scruff323
I flew an AS350 B3 for SGL through this same area back in 2011 or 2012. If I recall the job was for NWT Geological Survey conducting a mag/spec survey, the goal was maintain 200 AGL or less through this terrain. It was some of the best flying and scenery of my life. We spent nearly 10 weeks at the hunt camp on Palmer Lake. Thanks for sharing the scenery and updates on the exploration work.
Great documentation of a fantastic but very tricky job! So many factors, clouds, the position of the sun and shadow... Great footage. Some of these landing spots looked really, really tricky!! Thanks for the great editing. Must have taken a lot of time and effort!
Might be the first time I’ve heard someone say they hate mountains. 😆 Really enjoyed this one, and thanks for taking the time to make the content and sharing. 👍🏼
Hey Darcy, it's Cody a previous geotech drilling employee. Using my fiancés account being I only have Facebook I have tons of ground footage from the turnagain project in June/july 2022 if you're interested to receive them. Very surprised to stumble across your account as you were the original one to inspire/encourage me into becoming a rotary pilot.
Really cool video, loved the drone operator's personality lol. Seems like she's got a pretty sweet job! (Even if mountain weather can be a bit of a piss off, despite it's beauty!)
Great stuff, only thing I would say is you need to get your passenger to wear the shoulder harness as its not just for their safety, its for yours also!
Bush flying seems to be 90% of the VFR helicopter work in Canada, so all you need is a CPL. God have mercy on a student who takes instructions from me 😂
@@bushpiloting so with just 150hrs, they will put you in a turbine in Canada?! That’s wild! I’m at 1600 hours and still can’t find a turbine job in the US haha

Livin’ the dream!
Epic scenery and really glad you never met that animal you were afraid of!
Best video yet.

Two of our favourite things combined. Great video!
Awesome video! Keep them coming.
"I've got a got a radio so I can tell her my final thoughts..."😂
Great video Darcy, looks like a ton of fun
Awesome video Darcy. Love your storytelling too. I've used one of those drones for Surf Rescue. Good to see our Heli jobs are safe too
You are living my dreams sir.

Thanks for another informative and entertaining video mate. The filming, editing and voice-overs are slick.
Love what u do mate bloody awesome my youngest brother runs he’s heli mustering company in North Queensland
Awesome video.. I want to see a video of the final landing you walked away from😉
What a good gig!! Keep the vids coming
These videos have been awesome
New Subscriber.... loving the rotary content, diving into more of your videos...keep up the great work.
As a fellow drone op. Keep on flying Vanessa
Love your videos
that 407 is sweet
That big hill sounded like hard work mate😂
the tripods are datum points in space that are constant. the drone can refer to them.
Similar to a surveyors monument.
Nice viewing
Some really great video shot with the 407. Well done.
Fantastic, really enjoyed that... *cries into coffee in sterile office*
Wow great video
2:44 How is the heli not tipping forward 👀
Another great video, what is all the drone work used for? Didn’t catch if you mentioned it. Thanks
Great stuff, only thing I would say is you need to get your passenger to wear the shoulder harness as its not just for their safety, its for yours also!
Beautiful scenery!! True bush flying. How did you get into this kind of job? CFI for a while first?
Bush flying seems to be 90% of the VFR helicopter work in Canada, so all you need is a CPL.
God have mercy on a student who takes instructions from me 😂

@@Snowcat89onXbox360 there are not man piston helicopters in Canada. It's either turbine or unemployment
@@bushpiloting Ahh so most people leave the country for a while to build time?
How do two Aussies end up working out of such an amazing location? How do you even get a visa over 30?
The age for the working holiday is now like 34 or 35. We have both been in Canada long before that age limit
Having done some LIDAR work myself, why not put a larger, more capable LIDAR system on the helicopter and complete the job in a lot less time?
Last year I did a LiDAR job with a B206L in Australia. This year they went with drones due to it being cheaper
Are there no mosquitoes?
Occasionally on warmer days 😮💨
I hate you, yet I love you. 👍
