    As a pilot with 1,000 ish hours of 407 time and about half of that long lining this is a good video. Dont worry about the internet haters. It takes a lot of nerve to upload a video like this. Great video and keep them coming. And please please get a helmet ASAP. Have 2 good friends that are alive becuase of a helmet and have met a handful more. Fly safe!

    i watched a guy in a little 3 bladed machine lifting building supplies into a steep construction site once. I rode my moto up and watched. He had the chopper stripped out as much as possible and used a little wiggle move to gently move into the right spot. Was facinating.
    Really makes you realise those guys who fly the skycranes putting transmission towers together must be real guns.

      If you can buff out the "mistake "(while slinging) it's not a mistake... just part of ops. Scratch.. peel or bent... yeah.. that's a mistake.
      Most of that drill rig stuff has been strained or bashed through every earthy item out there... Hard to imagine they might have been new at some time.. !!

    This is what 🚁are build for! Love the work man, well done. Creating videos is not a 30 minute job. (Which very few people realize.) I use to work as the ground crew on long line operations in the Eastern DRC in Africa and also sat in the helicopters to be the pilot's spotter sometimes, especially when they were new to the sling world. It was some of the most epic times of my career. 😎💪🚁

    I found with the four pointers we often put D rings on the load side and the D ring would flop over without correcting itself when tension is made and the whole thing lifts crooked. 13:29

      With a 50 ft. or 150 ft. line below you... and 100lbs + on it, the ground crew MUST be aware... and know how to recognize when to get your ass out of the way.
      You are just going to arrive at the scene of your accident if things go to shit in a low hover.

    Nothing worse than guys that stand around staring at the load with their hands behind their back when you’re fighting the wind, bumping up against 100% the whole time. JUST GRAB THE DAMN THING!!

    Do you over-torque first? Does the machine latch the over-torque condition or can you reset it?

      Na, the machine has 5 seconds between 100 and 105% before the computer counts it as an over torque. Which might give you enough time to get you out of trouble

    Soooo... the intro image shows an ex-Niagara Heli bell 407 slinging... but the video shows a white 206.. Maybe it was Photoshopped ?
    Often wondered what happened to those 407's.. (now Astars at NHL) Went to GSHL... expecting to see 407's ,, but No.. Now that I have left... they have them... Grrrr.
    Best little worker machine ..evah!!

      Yeah we operated an old Niagara heli machine, and it’s a photo from a drill move that I did on another job.
      The machine I used to move this drill was a white 407…. Not a 206… but yeah they look kinda similar so I get the confusion

      @@bushpiloting Hey thanks bush. Ha.. got about 5000 in 206's...about the same in 407's, about 2000 in Astars, B4's and a bunch in 500's. Moving drills was great, if you got a great crew... there was long time before you got to go for a 'P' or a coffee.. then there were times when all hell broke loose, ... cable snags, wind,
      Enjoy...and respect Mother nature... best advice ever.

      Generally 100 foot. It's pretty standard for this line of work

      @@bushpiloting Hi mate, loved my few years bush flying but did the maths, and went back to being a chiropractor so I can actually retire one day. Started flying at 41, so left it quite late! Have a instructor ticket now so you never know, I can always take it up as a hobby job. Love your videos, keep 'em coming. Where did you train/first job?

    I don’t know the 407 specs but if you are operating so close to the limits quite often, is this the right helo for this kind of heavy jobs? Just asking…

      Na, it's all good for the job. If I were to just go a bit slower or burn off an extra 10 minutes of fuel before lifting a heavy piece, it would make all the difference.
