Well I guess that Devs wanted to make another Don’t Starve project but making it “lore based” would be hard since everything they add there would be cannon so making it a non-canon spin-off was a good idea in my opinion

If it's not canon, then what would justify the shadow creatures attacking him they clearly want him back on the throne, and they do succeed, this clearly happens just before a new reign,
I remember playing the experimental builds they added a new crafting tab filled with overpowered gear some comming from the forge you can only unlock these gear by rolling for them which i imagine is gonna cost gems or something

Right now the beta test is in China, the author of the channel was provided the apk file by testers for datamining and extracting in-game trailers. I have a few more on my channel, and some came out earlier. Technically, everyone could have seen this as early as July 5
