I really really love the idea of actually scaling two Western animated characters, it's something so rarely done in the vs or scaling community, outside of Death Battle, so this feels so cathartic. It’s a tie because neither of them can kill the other person. Death cannot kill Kai because Kai was already dead and he’s a spirit warrior, and Kai cannot kill death because death is death so it’s a tie there is no winner.
Death is technically a Grime Reaper type figure, and the whole point to the Grime Reaper to guide already dead souls to the after life. So Death could technically just force Kai to the afterlife. After all Death hates people who can cheat "death" in any sort of way.

9:28 ok just a quick nitpick here, but its a magic bag. The bag probably conjures what ever you desire from it, as long as it was placed inside prior. A bag in general would rather useless if you can't take things out of it, so obviously there will be magic to allow you to retrieve whatever you put in. Doesn't change anything however, since shrek magic and kung fu panda chi likely arent similar enough to compare and we can't reasonbly compare death to the bag anyway.

I would argue that Death isn’t technically living, and chi is described as the life flow of the KFP universe. So Kai wouldn’t be able to take Death’s “chi” because he technically wouldn’t have any. Because traditionally, the grim reaper just guides the souls of the dead, he doesn't actually kill anyone himself, let alone have advanced fighting skills. The Wolf in The Last Wish is clearly a _unique interpretation_ of the concept, so you can't just say "he's the grim reaper, so he auto wins," when his job was NEVER to kill people (one of Puss' previous lives literally calls him out on this). We don't have *_any_* reason to believe his actual fighting skills are any greater than what was stated, and Kai out scales everything in the Shrek universe (he also can't be killed because he's already a spirit).

@@TheSlowScholar It’s been shown in the Shrek verse that fire can kill ghost in Shrek 4D Dragon killed ghost Fardquad with her fire even someone like Puss could damage ghost and spirits in his respected show also Kai isn’t really dead because he didn’t die due to natural causes he was banished by Oogway and the Spirt Realm isn’t really the afterlife it’s one exclusively for kung fu masters that’s why there’s barely anyone there and it’s somewhat irrelevant due to anyone being able to leave if they have enough chi. Also Po didn’t erase him from existence he just pumped his soul with to much chi then he died instantly and if he was erased then how could The Chameleon change into him and he was literally brought back in the fourth movie sure he didn’t talk or do much but he was still there.
From what I understand the uni argument for Shrek 4 isn't that he created a space time but the fact he survived said reality being erased, cause as we see he wasn't sent back to the main reality like everyone else and yet still survived

Now that is the true question. Both have such different themes that both are insanely threatening. And the best part is that they both give off the “I’m here” vibe, but one being bombastic and the other being an threat.
Apparently, there is Puss and therefore Death scaling to The Arcanum which be superior to magical spells such as Artephius's magic spell that he did to conjure Puss Dos who is a clone duplicate experiment gone wrong. When Artephius conjured up Puss Dos, it created an ethnic pressure imbalance that desynchronized the spin rates of the hermetic realm barrier loop membranes causing dozens of Pusses from other universes to be sucked into the Netherworld. To give a more perspicacious explanation of what he's saying. The ethnic pressure imbalance is referring to the disruption caused by a conflicting or unbalanced energies that have disrupted the natural laws of things. You can sorta think of Puss Dos as an a anomaly for that upon creation. The desynchronized spin rates is obviously pertained to the disruption in the magical energies or forces that govern the fabric of reality within the show's universe as afterwards it talks about the hermetic, sealed off, realm barriers between worlds/universes. It has similarly multiple realms inside of it for the different Kung fu Masters. A realms within realms situation if you will. There has not been a confirmed number of the amount of warriors in The Spirit Realm. Their would at least be multiple dozens, hundreds, if not thousands of realms inside of it. So, you can get Kai escaping the Spirit Ream to be just as if not more powerful than the casting of Puss Dos.

IMO Kai overpowering spirit realm works kinda like black holes warping reality. They don't have to be universal level in terms of power (they have finite mass and finite energy) yet ability to concentrate said energy can do miracle-level feats
Iirc, the wishing star's fire was actually existence erasure, not literal fire, and death could use a similar ability at will. Furthermore, magic in Shrek has been shown to harm or destroy souls / spirits. Keep in mind, Kai is vulnerable to soul destruction. Furthermore, he uses chi, which is life energy. Certainly, it has a spiritual and mystical component, but that actually just gives death more options. Shrek verse has immortality, reality warping, space/time manipulation, undeath, etc. Even if Kai is demonstrably more powerful than the physical form Death takes, this is really a hax battle. I don't think Kai could stop death, and death could reasonably collect Kai. Also, magic and chi, while related in KFP verse, are not exactly the same. While Kai could potentially defeat Death, he'd have to do it forever, which he arguably can't. He'd eventually make a mistake or potentially exhaust enough chi for Death to get an opening. Death cannot die. Death casually walked through existence erasure. And Kai, even as a spirit warrior, was able to be killed (again).
Personally wouldn’t scale Kai to uni, because in PoD another character who broke out of the Spirit Realm (Jindiao), could only do so after absorbing the power of the Wellspring, the source of all chi, which is a feat that was described as never done before by anyone (which would include Kai). Multi-Continent is consistent with Dragon Knight though, since Po scales to characters who can recreate Pangaea.
Based on a breakdown of the animation of the scene where puss and death in the bar… death got hit by puss, right through the face at that. It’s not that he needs to be stronger or faster. This dude ignores physical threats and tbh the wolf probably isn’t the only form he can take. To add to that fact Kai cheating death would only serve to annoy him (as he stated himself… he doesn’t like cats for the 9 lives thing). Death is a concept, arguably a force of nature… which is why he just ignored Puss’s successful hit. I don’t think Kai could actually touch him if he tried. As theoretically powerful as Kai is… Death is like gravity… you can’t kill gravity.

That's real understandable given that death does not have that many feats in his first movie showing, BUT there is ONE way I think he "could" scale above Kai, there is a TH-camr called the theorizer and as crazy as this sounds there is a way to get death connected to a higher meta if we were to believe his theory's on Mort the lemur, but that'd be big if true

I say It’s a tie because both are strong and powerful. Kai basically beat death to return to life but he is vulnerable to attacks on the soul. But Death is the concept of death and can truly never be defeated and can shape-shift in your greatest foe, but can be beat if you show no fear
I feel like there are a lot of holes when scaling Kai. Po in the spirit world who unlocked his chi with some aid of the pandas was beating Kai up. So would that make Po beyond universal? Po was also able to leave the spirit realm not by overpowering it but by using the staff which is built upon in KP 4 which shows that getting out doesn't necessarily have to mean U have to overpower the whole realm which would be impossible because it's infinitely so the finite chi of even all the masters wouldn't be infinite. Death has much more concrete showings and consistency imo.

Realistically, since kai isn't mortal, death can't really do shit about it. So that makes it a battle of skill which goes to kai. But neither of these 2 can die so itll be a draw anyway.

The only other stats I could give Death would be Omniscient. Omniscient: If he’s the physical embodiment of Death, that means he would’ve been around since the beginning of time and that would give him knowledge of creations entire history.

Death is never a person who can be bested, only the personification of an inevitability, and even in his own movie Death himself isn't defeated, only delayed by Puss resolving to value the life he has left instead of continuing to let his pride drive him into mortal peril. Categorically, NOBODY wins against Death, because when every last spark of their strength is utterly spent, there it is, just as it always was, and just as it always will be. Permanence in any regard is only a lie we tell ourselves for our own comfort. Edit: Also, Puss is one of if not the finest swordsman in his home setting, and his weapon of choice, the rapier, is one of if not the best weapon ever designed for unarmored dueling. Being able to casually outclass an opponent of that level with a weapon chosen purely for aesthetic rather than any real practicality is kind of a big deal.

Every single point of evidence towards feats of strength and durability towards both candidates is based off of stories told through word of mouth (weakest form of evidence) or through scaling involving other previous combatants (an even MORE unreliable source, especially if you actually SEE the fight). If you poison a dragon in its sleep that doesn't automatically stronger than it. Not to mention the misunderstanding of how magic and chi works. Obviously, for both sources there is no rock-solid book of rules on how they translate, but that's exactly why you shouldn't ADD rules to how they work. Spells almost always, in all forms of fantastical media, work to circumvent logic and physics. Just because that dark tortoise had a spell that could block an asteroid, DOESN'T mean that it can be perfectly used in combat. What if the shell only get stronger the further and larger it gets (making it significantly worse in combat)? There simply isn't enough evidence to make these claims viable.

For my take on this fight I don’t really Bye the statements of the spirit realm being infinite as automatically meaning that it’s a 4D but due to a variety of scaling in which case well is a bit close I feel like death’s resistance is too much for Kai to handle.
If anything I would scale Death's durability to Rumpelstiltskin's contract which was able to destroy the whole Shrek timeline or universe or dimension, whichever one it was

In all honesty, we can't scale death's full power because he doesn't have one. He's death. He made it abundantly clear that he is the CONCEPT of death itself. Not an image of it. He is the literal act of death. Even immortality can't save you from it. Jellyfish are immortal and so are vampires, both of those being able to be killed. Even invulnerable people can die from old age. With that in mind, Death is limitless since he has to be able to overcome any form of life. It's not the same as fighting a grim reaper. If we take the scene with gim and Puss for example, he can literally just end your life with hax like whe he shattered the crystals of his last life if he wanted to. But he was tryinv to torment Puss for thinking he was Immortal. So he wanted to fight him and show Puss that no matter what he did, Death couldn't be defeated.

Being Death ≠ unkillable, there exist so many goddamn stories where Death has died (Thanatos in God of War, Death in Family Guy, Satan in Marvel, etc.). Death was harmed and even drew small amounts of blood from Puss, meaning he isn’t invincible by any stretch of the medium and absolutely nothing in the movie implies he’s invincible. Your argument stops at “He’s Death”, and as I said before, many other Deaths have died. He still has to prove just HOW powerful he is, as Deaths come in many different strengths and sizes. Death in The Simpsons was killed in a car crash, whereas Thanatos in God of War is a primordial entity who existed before the creation of time and can abolish Multiversal hazards and conceptual figments. Death in Puss in Boots has shown nothing special in particular, and so, there’s 0 reason to believe he is anything special when comparing him to other Deaths. It’s common sense.

I get the idea but there shouldn’t really be any scaling here, death is the whole concept of death, every person who’s died is another feat for him. If Kai can’t be killed because he is allready dead, that doesn’t change the fact that he can still be taken back to the spirit world like po did to him. So if death can traverse from the mortal plane to the spirit realm and back at will(which would make sense because he is literally death.) then it would be very easy for him to just snap Kai back to the spirit realm, especially sense he can probably teleport as seeing how he can just move from spot to spot in the movie. And the fact that as death, he can neither die nor be harmed in the first place.
Well death is death in the puss in Boots/Shrek universe, I'd say only the people in the pib/Shrek verse who've died have been collected by death and not characters from other universes.

I would argue that Death isn’t technically living, and chi is described as the life flow of the KFP universe. So Kai wouldn’t be able to take Death’s “chi” because he technically wouldn’t have any. @@KR91201 That doesn't mean anything. What does being the Grim Reaper of the Shrek universe actually mean? Because traditionally, the grim reaper just guides the souls of the dead, he doesn't actually kill anyone himself, let alone have advanced fighting skills.
The Wolf in The Last Wish is clearly a _unique interpretation_ of the concept, so you can't just say "he's the grim reaper, so he auto wins," when his job was NEVER to kill people (one of Puss' previous lives literally calls him out on this). We don't have *_any_* reason to believe his actual fighting skills are any greater than what was stated, and Kai out scales everything in the Shrek universe (he also can't be killed because he's already a spirit).

It has similarly multiple realms inside of it for the different Kung fu Masters. A realms within realms situation if you will. There has not been a confirmed number of the amount of warriors in The Spirit Realm. Their would at least be multiple dozens, hundreds, if not thousands of realms inside of it. So, you can get Kai escaping the Spirit Ream to be just as if not more powerful than the casting of Puss Dos.

IMO Kai overpowering spirit realm works kinda like black holes warping reality. They don't have to be universal level in terms of power (they have finite mass and finite energy) yet ability to concentrate said energy can do miracle-level feats
Iirc, the wishing star's fire was actually existence erasure, not literal fire, and death could use a similar ability at will. Furthermore, magic in Shrek has been shown to harm or destroy souls / spirits. Keep in mind, Kai is vulnerable to soul destruction. Furthermore, he uses chi, which is life energy. Certainly, it has a spiritual and mystical component, but that actually just gives death more options. Shrek verse has immortality, reality warping, space/time manipulation, undeath, etc. Even if Kai is demonstrably more powerful than the physical form Death takes, this is really a hax battle. I don't think Kai could stop death, and death could reasonably collect Kai. Also, magic and chi, while related in KFP verse, are not exactly the same. While Kai could potentially defeat Death, he'd have to do it forever, which he arguably can't. He'd eventually make a mistake or potentially exhaust enough chi for Death to get an opening. Death cannot die. Death casually walked through existence erasure. And Kai, even as a spirit warrior, was able to be killed (again).

Personally wouldn’t scale Kai to uni, because in PoD another character who broke out of the Spirit Realm (Jindiao), could only do so after absorbing the power of the Wellspring, the source of all chi, which is a feat that was described as never done before by anyone (which would include Kai). Multi-Continent is consistent with Dragon Knight though, since Po scales to characters who can recreate Pangaea.

This dude ignores physical threats and tbh the wolf probably isn’t the only form he can take. To add to that fact Kai cheating death would only serve to annoy him (as he stated himself… he doesn’t like cats for the 9 lives thing). Death is a concept, arguably a force of nature… which is why he just ignored Puss’s successful hit. I don’t think Kai could actually touch him if he tried. I say It’s a tie because both are strong and powerful. Kai basically beat death to return to life but he is vulnerable to attacks on the soul. But Death is the concept of death and can truly never be defeated and can shape-shift in your greatest foe, but can be beat if you show no fear
I feel like there are a lot of holes when scaling Kai. Po in the spirit world who unlocked his chi with some aid of the pandas was beating Kai up. So would that make Po beyond universal? Po was also able to leave the spirit realm not by overpowering it but by using the staff which is built upon in KP 4 which shows that getting out doesn't necessarily have to mean U have to overpower the whole realm which would be impossible because it's infinitely so the finite chi of even all the masters wouldn't be infinite. Death has much more concrete showings and consistency imo.

Death is never a person who can be bested, only the personification of an inevitability, and even in his own movie Death himself isn't defeated, only delayed by Puss resolving to value the life he has left instead of continuing to let his pride drive him into mortal peril.
Categorically, NOBODY wins against Death, because when every last spark of their strength is utterly spent, there it is, just as it always was, and just as it always will be. Permanence in any regard is only a lie we tell ourselves for our own comfort.
Edit: Also, Puss is one of if not the finest swordsman in his home setting, and his weapon of choice, the rapier, is one of if not the best weapon ever designed for unarmored dueling. Being able to casually outclass an opponent of that level with a weapon chosen purely for aesthetic rather than any real practicality is kind of a big deal.

Every single point of evidence towards feats of strength and durability towards both candidates is based off of stories told through word of mouth (weakest form of evidence) or through scaling involving other previous combatants (an even MORE unreliable source, especially if you actually SEE the fight). If you poison a dragon in its sleep that doesn't automatically stronger than it.
Not to mention the misunderstanding of how magic and chi works. Obviously, for both sources there is no rock-solid book of rules on how they translate, but that's exactly why you shouldn't ADD rules to how they work. Spells almost always, in all forms of fantastical media, work to circumvent logic and physics. Just because that dark tortoise had a spell that could block an asteroid, DOESN'T mean that it can be perfectly used in combat. What if the shell only get stronger the further and larger it gets (making it significantly worse in combat)? There simply isn't enough evidence to make these claims viable.

In all honesty, we can't scale death's full power because he doesn't have one. He's death. He made it abundantly clear that he is the CONCEPT of death itself. Not an image of it. He is the literal act of death. Even immortality can't save you from it. Jellyfish are immortal and so are vampires, both of those being able to be killed. Even invulnerable people can die from old age. With that in mind, Death is limitless since he has to be able to overcome any form of life. It's not the same as fighting a grim reaper. If we take the scene with gim and Puss for example, he can literally just end your life with hax like whe he shattered the crystals of his last life if he wanted to. But he was tryinv to torment Puss for thinking he was Immortal. So he wanted to fight him and show Puss that no matter what he did, Death couldn't be defeated.

All it insinuates is Death is either uneffected to begin with as it doesn’t apply to him specifically or he manipulated the barrier (which is actually likely considering he was shown as being capable of pyrokinesis). He drew blood after Puss drop-kicked him and he said “Bueno… muito bueno…” and rubbed his nose, a very, very common symptom of someone who’s, at the very least, dazed.

Me thinking what death is: a being that takes shape as what the person fears
I get the idea but there shouldn’t really be any scaling here, death is the whole concept of death, every person who’s died is another feat for him. If Kai can’t be killed because he is allready dead, that doesn’t change the fact that he can still be taken back to the spirit world like po did to him. So if death can traverse from the mortal plane to the spirit realm and back at will(which would make sense because he is literally death.) then it would be very easy for him to just snap Kai back to the spirit realm, especially sense he can probably teleport as seeing how he can just move from spot to spot in the movie. And the fact that as death, he can neither die nor be harmed in the first place.

Well death is death in the puss in Boots/Shrek universe, I'd say only the people in the pib/Shrek verse who've died have been collected by death and not characters from other universes.

Kai is a spirit warrior. He’s juat lurking there in the spirit realm, while death is the one responsible taking away lives and the very essence of life is death.
We can say both are equal and beneficial to each other. If there would be a movie crossover, this 2 will make a good combination

@@wendybasile7748 I understand where you’re coming from, but to be immortal literally means immune to death. He is not any regular spirit hes a master of Chi, and a warrior on the same level as Oogway Prime (skill wise) although death would put up a great fight Kai will eventually win
@@DentingMarrow_56 Well Kai wouldn’t really win more than anything it’s a stalemate because death is a concept meaning that he can’t be killed since he’s a literal concept. Death however can’t do anything to Kai since he’s already dead. Of course doe he could just spam Kai to the afterlife but Kai could just get out of it.
