Was your OEM 3 wires? Mine is and the cheap ones are 2 wire.
Yes, the third one is for the fuel pump cutoff and not needed. I’m 2 years on my cheap pump and it’s still going. 15K miles

Stock pump has 3 wires. carbole has 2 wire. How did you wire it up?
Use the red and black wires only. The 3rd is a fuel shutoff I think but is not needed. The black/white wire to red and the black to black.

Most of those trucks use similar pumps so you should be fine.
Was the original a 3 wire? What is the carbon pump 2 wire?
Yes, there were 3 wires but the new pump only required 2. The $25 pump works much better than the $250 original. Highly recommended to get one if the original goes bad.
@@southerntraveler it is bad I have ordeeed the carbone it is two wires. Did you connect the 2 grounds together?
No, I just left it disconnected. Had to go check, I couldn’t remember. I think it’s a shutoff for the original I think. Mine works fine with just the 2 wires and has for over a year or more.

I got a 93 I just got all the electrical worked out. Will crank and hit on brake cleaner in the carb so I need to figure out why no fuel. Clear fuel filter is dry, I’ll be working on it this week
It could be the pump it sounds like to me. I had fuel in my filter but it wouldn’t pump enough fuel going up inclines. On flat ground it would pump fine, even the factory replacement had the same issue. The $20 pump has been working great and I even have backup just in case. Also, you should hear the pump running when you turn the ignition on, it will prime then cut off.
