I love how you flat twisted the roots! I don’t think I’ve seen someone start their mini twists off that way. I’m definitely doing me and my daughter’s mini twists like this from now on.
I love that you note what products work FOR YOU. Too many times people are quick to judge products that others use, that didn’t work for them, knowing that everyone’s hair is different. Thanks for doing that🙌🏾🙌🏾
I love how you parted this style, I also like my styles to lay flat. Definitely will be talking inspo from this. I usually do braids instead of twists but I want to see if I can flat twist the top of my braids so they’re more flat to my head .
I found this video 3 days ago and I'm trying it today. I can never get my mini twists took good like everyone else's on TH-cam/Tiktok and it's frustrating. The roots and parts cause me the most problems, I never thought to flat twist them. My hair turned out so good this way. Thanks for the tutorial❤❤❤
I always do mini twists the regular way but my twists always end up frizzy after a week, so I usually re-do them every week and can’t stretch it to 2 weeks without me looking crazy. I love how you flat twisted the roots and it looks a lot neater! I think i’ll try it next wash day, thank you for the video :))
I just took out my knotless braids, so after I detailed this head, I think I will try a similar style this week. I was thinking about that bun life, but your video inspired me to try something different. Lol
I'm going to be 16 soon and I just had the idea of putting protective hairstyles into my routines (my mama has straight hair so she does what she can) this vid def helped so much thankyou for this!!
Just finished doing this exact style. The video made it easy to follow along. I need to get better at flat twisting tighter so the twist lays flatter so I’ll work on that next time. Thanks for sharing this tutorial❤❤❤
i usually wouldn't do a style like this (flat to my head, zero volume) but u made it look so good im like waittt... now i wanna give it a try 😭😭 i have type 3 hair so twists usually don't last long for me, but the flat twisting at the root is actually so smart, i think they'd last longer if i did that! update: this style literally got me to two weeks and a half. NO HAIR ADDED. That's UNHEARD OF for me. my twists usually last like two days (counting the day i twist it, so technically one lmao) before they start unraveling, especially around my nape areas. i didn't follow the layout exactly, but i flat twisted my nape area, and then did loose mini twists up to my crown, and flat twisted like you did in the front. the style is literally so sleek too, im obsessed!!! and refreshing/hydrating my hair is so much easier cuz my scalp (for the most part) is easily accessible. definitely gonna be my go to style when i don't have hair from now on. tysm for making this tutorial fr.
Appreciate this update!! Similar experience. I did mine 3 days ago and took it out yesterday 🤦🏾♀️. I’m going to try flat twisting first next time. Glad to hear you also tried it and it works!
@@gwen6217 yess go for it!! i hope ur twists last longer too :) also i like twisting the hair strands in opposite directions of the way i’m twisting, that way there’s a better hold, and that helps a bunch. i’m glad my update helped 🫶🏼
i don't have 3a all over my head, but on my nape i do, and i find the smaller the sections, some foam, and gel at the roots), this style holds really well for me. i also twist the two sections of hair opposite of how im twisting them (u can look up a tutorial on this to learn how)! i still get some unraveling, but it's not completely unraveled and this style has lasted me two and a half weeks 😭😭 which is crazy considering twists never lasted me even a day.
Wow I actually love this! I never expected you to do a flat twist but I loved the end results and I might try it one day. Loved how dedicated you were to making those parts STRAIGHT STRAIGHT 😆❤
I came across your video and I did what exactly what you did and I fell in love with them I love this looks of twist and thank you so much for posting this , I’m wondering how do you like refresh them after washing since it flat twist ? What do you bc I don’t know how to maintain them this style lol 😂
I’m trying this! I usually when I go for smaller sectioned flat twist from the neck up or down to my neck then the front twisted from middle to ears or ears to middle but did not think of splitting up the back twice as well as the front twice and twisted in the directions you do it, so ill see if it can look as cute as yours I love clips too 😂❤ subbed!
Great video! The style came out so pretty. I have been getting tired of doing medium box braids with my natural hair so I think I’ll try this. I used to do two-strand twists as my protective style (which I wore all the time), but this a great switch up. I have a lot of hair so Idk 🤷🏾♀️. I’m really tired of doing my hair myself atp!
It will look so pretty if you have a lot of hair! And I feel you, I honestly cannot stand doing my hair either but since I only do it once a month or so I do not mind.
this is such a good alternative to regular mini twists which take way longer! Bc your hair looks a lot like mine, is it possible for you to do a wash day video?
I will be using a leave in conditioner and blow drying it with a blow dryer, do i have to blow dry it before or after i apply the product to do mini twists? (type 4 hair)
I am so glad I found a female chicago vlogger. You definitely ate at this hairstyle...top tier hairstyle. I am so glad I came across your channel. I love your videos. For you to be a new youtuber you can not tell. Your editing is really amazing and you are very beautiful as well. Definitely continue on your journey being a content creator you have the character for it. #newsubbie
I just oil my scalp and apply oil to the length and ends of my hair. I always spray the hair with water (a light mist) and apply the same curling crème I used ti moisturize. I only deep condition when I take out the twists.
I really like this hairstyle, you did a wonderful take on traditional mini twists🫶🏾 If you still have the hair in, would you mind filming you taking them down or a clip of the hair before you take it down? I'd like to see how the style looks like after it has been in for a while please. Thanks in advance if you do decide to do it😊
Thanks, that’s definitely the goal, I am currently on week 2 with this style. This video was pre recorded. I will be making a separate video once it’s time for me to take them down. Thanks for the request !
@priasymone you're welcome. And I'm genuinely looking forward to your follow-up video. I just need to learn how to do neat flat twist towards the back of my head and I can try this😅
I love how you flat twisted the roots! I don’t think I’ve seen someone start their mini twists off that way. I’m definitely doing me and my daughter’s mini twists like this from now on.
Yes! Flat twisting the roots makes it last so much longer. Especially if you lay it with a silk/satin scarf every night.
I just about to go to TikTok to see if somebody had a closer video of it
My mom does it and I’m trying to learn how to do it
😊

This was cute and seemed les time consuming them single twists. I’ll try this thank you! Subbed

Would you say this hairstyle lays quite flat on the head? I’m looking for a protective style to wear under my hijab and this looks like it does! 💓
It lays flat because of how I parted it. Especially if it’s pulled back.

Your hair is beautiful!! Where did you get your glasses from?
Thanks they are just prescription Prada frames from Lens Crafters.
Love this style and I’m going to try it since its gym friendly. Did you blow dry your first or was it stretched over night?
It was still damp. I washed it like an hour before I recorded the video and it dried a little in the jumbo twists.
I only clicked for the glasses 😂
