One thing my maths teacher told our class was to go through examiner reports on past papers. This is a report on examiners making notes on questions that were well answered and questions that were poorly answered. They also include common wrong answers and common errors during calculations. Make sure you don’t make the same mistakes at the students did before you so you don’t drop marks!
For me what really helped is just simply making a lot of excersises instead of reading the theory. Once you kind of understand how an excersise works, you’ll also understand the test better. Making excersises a couple hours before the test also helped out a lot for me, because then you put your mind in this focused ‘excersise-making’ position

@@TheRealNiko We call it 'Maths' here in Australia (and other BrE countries), as in a shortened form of 'Mathematics'. Solving a question requires the application of multiple mathematical concepts, therefore, "Maths" is used. The original commenter also used the plural form of 'exam', so that cancels out. I think it's important to know that other regions use a different word-choice vocabulary, as trying to school someone purely based on their word-choice is quite ignorant to their own context (which I guess is slightly excusable based on your situation).
I've never had issues with maths until now, I used to get like 95+ on every test and did olympiad without studying at all because I basically just paid a ton of attention in class. Having to deal with a super trash maths teachers sucks so I got a 74 on my most recent exam but I hope this can help me improve my grades. :) For some reason my new teacher wanted us to rush ahead to the point where we were consistently 3-4 WEEKS ahead of the rest of the classes. I honestly hope you can overtake that! Always remember that we're all in the same boat! Although some have a better and faster one, it doesn't at all mean that you won't achieve it! If you feel that you want to improve that skill, do not give up!! To be realistic, generally, people put pressure on us to do something well and as quickly as possible. However, you should remember to do it for yourself!!! 👍👍🚀🚀
Fantastic video mate. I'm currently in university studying civil engineering. In year 12 i studied methods and specialist and i have to say your comments and tips couldn't be anymore true. Tests/exams are a psychological test on top of the subject content. If you can be calm, think clearly, you'll be right. Instead of trying to complete 100 easy questions, do 10 harder ones and focus on your weak points.
tysm, writing in 2 days and Ik I should've started earlier, but felt very unmotivated, I'm going to really try to understand and invest these 2 days completely trying to understand, like I really didn't understand anything and asked questions, the teacher gave me extra work which I completed and he decided not to mark it or give me feedback, but we did revision recently and I feel like I understand things I haven't understood before, I'm excited to study for math
I understand everything in class but whenever the exam comes up l just get lost, the questions aren't specific l just confuse which method should be used where, anyone with tips? :-(
Mistakes + solutions 1. Question is too hard (don't know how to solve it at all) - Understand when its being taught. ASK questions - spread your work out over time **super important coz its a skill. daily practice - make note of weaknesses + pay more attention to these weak areas 2. Careless mistakes - make a list of them as you go along *calculator errors, sign errors - read the page before you write the exam and be aware of each one before the test - do more past papers to know how to lay out your answers 3. GENERAL points confidence. you'll do worse if you're nervous LASTLY HAVE FUN!! be positive and celebrate the small progress. mwa you got this.
Hi, am from Western Australia where we have specialist instead of extension 2 in nsw, I have a tutor who also ranked top 100 in NSW extension2 maths. I'm thinking of doing specialist maths next year in year 11 and maybe 12 but I'm not sure how I should study for all these new hard concepts, I think my biggest problem right now is time management, how should I go with this?

Math isn't plural btw, it's either math or mathematics
@@TheRealNiko u get 100 in english or what
U would still be 4th if u got 100
@@ARYAN-bd8op lol what?
@@TheRealNiko We call it 'Maths' here in Australia (and other BrE countries), as in a shortened form of 'Mathematics'. Solving a question requires the application of multiple mathematical concepts, therefore, "Maths" is used.
The original commenter also used the plural form of 'exam', so that cancels out. I think it's important to know that other regions use a different word-choice vocabulary, as trying to school someone purely based on their word-choice is quite ignorant to their own context (which I guess is slightly excusable based on your situation).
@@someoldytaccountjust because you call it 'maths' doesn't mean it's a proper term.
I will be using your advice for my upcoming entrance exam. Wish me luck!
This is much appreciated x
Thanks a lot for your advice. I'm going to try it out and hope it works
I got 100/100 in my exam because of you.. Thank you.
I hope so too
Thanks for the tips! i quit playing video games. To focus more on study.
You got this!
I've never had issues with maths until now, I used to get like 95+ on every test and did olympiad without studying at all because I basically just paid a ton of attention in class.
Having to deal with a super trash maths teachers sucks so I got a 74 on my most recent exam but I hope this can help me improve my grades. :)
For some reason my new teacher wanted us to rush ahead to the point where we were consistently 3-4 WEEKS ahead of the rest of the classes.
Thank whatever is up there for me not having to deal with him again this term.
Honestly help me a lot thanks 🙏
Glad to hear it!
you know these hidden heros that actually don't know that they are heros? bro i think you are one of them you took so much of my anxiety God bless u
Guys math is like a dance.
Everything has steps and you have to practice for you to improve your moves.
dude this was so helpful thankyou so much!!!
Originally I thought the thumbnail said "4th in NSFW". Though, thank you for the help!
Tysm this is my time to really take maths into my hands and achieve well.
the thing is, everyone in my class just watched this video..
I havnt needed to do maths exams for about 13 years now - but im watching anyway.
the thing with me is that when ever I think something is going to be well it always doesn't go well like yea I ordered pizza tonight it will be great but instead it is really bad this started to happen with my grades whenever I hoped to get good grades I always got bad grades but when I thought of getting bad grades I got good grades but sometimes it turns around and I was at that time being body shamed and I got depressed I always liked math but after getting in high school I don't understand any math i understand every other subject but math has became a problem whenever i try to solve a problem (an exercise question) even if i try 10 times it goes wrong every time and it demotivates me but thankyou you motivated me and I will apply these tips and tell share the results again thankyou very much (Sorry if there are any mistakes i am not a native english speaker but i am working on my english:)
@@BempostaFlix Thanks! I will try my hardest to achieve my goal and thanks again that is so nice of you :)
I have a math exam in 2 days so im just writing this to come back to it later, wish me luck.
Amazing video
Thanks!

Hey Dineth what tuition did you go for Maths , Physics and Chemistry
there's you go
found a JEE aspirant
tysm, writing in 2 days and Ik I should've started earlier, but felt very unmotivated, I'm going to really try to understand and invest these 2 days completely trying to understand, like I really didn't understand anything and asked questions, the teacher gave me extra work which I completed and he decided not to mark it or give me feedback, but we did revision recently and I feel like I understand things I haven't understood before, I'm excited to study for math
I understand everything in class but whenever the exam comes up l just get lost, the questions aren't specific l just confuse which method should be used where, anyone with tips? :-(
the same thing happens to me! i would suggest just practicing the problems until u feel completely confident that u know how to solve it lol
Mistakes + solutions
1. Question is too hard (don't know how to solve it at all)
- Understand when its being taught. ASK questions
- spread your work out over time **super important coz its a skill. daily practice
- make note of weaknesses + pay more attention to these weak areas
2. Careless mistakes
- make a list of them as you go along *calculator errors, sign errors
- read the page before you write the exam and be aware of each one before the test
- do more past papers to know how to lay out your answers
3. GENERAL points
confidence. you'll do worse if you're nervous
LASTLY HAVE FUN!! be positive and celebrate the small progress. mwa you got this.
whenever i or any of my class mates ask the teacher a question he just mocks us and never answers it
got my uni maths exam in two days, praying that this helps
You bring ranked 4th NSW: *tries to tell us something*
Me an intellectual: *you are missing an F between the S and W*
Thanks, bro. You are a GREAT help.
i love you i have a math exam in two days
Thank you man, great, great video !
Thank you! You save my life fr! Thanks!
