Maud/Matilda vs Stephen is the English civil war of sorts which was forgotten about. Stephen has the support of England because he is English with no foreign ties, a man (the norm) and has a claim on the throne. Matilda is the rightful heir, but because her father had to marry her to the faction of Anjou (based in France but increasingly powerful) the English are wary of her because they don't want to be de facto annexed into an empire ruled from Anjou. The irony is that Matilda's son Henry ended up on the English throne as Henry II anyway in the end - that's actually how England got its territory in France which it lost in the Hundred Years War (Battle of Agincourt, Joan of Arc, etc.). Henry II inherited both. On pronunciation: Duchy is like 'such-y' - it's a 'ch' Anjou is French. You could say 'on-joo', except the French j is softer Blois is kind of like 'blwah'

Your first pronunciation of "duchy" was correct Beef (like "duchess", but ending in a short "i" instead of "əs"). A duchy is the piece of land owned by/ruled over by a duke, similar to how a county is in the hands of a count (sometimes called an earl). A duke is in rank above a count.
Its difficult to boil a 1200 pages book down into an game or TV series, there will be many little things people who havn't read the book will miss out on. However its an (kinda slow) very immersive and emotional story which i feel is perfect for beef. I can't wait on some of his reactions and decisions when.. well you goota wait and see :p

It's a collab series. Earlier Etho had power outage issues and couldn't play together with them, and now their recording schedule kinda don't go well at the same time, so they have to manage a shared free time just to continue that series. You know, youtubers have irl stuffs to do too.
