I used to watch it every single weekend on my dad's VHS. Still love popping it on once in a while. Was and is still a terrific movie. Old school charm. 🕺💃
Did you all know that Sidney Poitier directed this movie? I’m here because I’m a huge fan of this movie and to pay respects of his work. #RIPSidneyPoitier
@@TheKrista5you're talking about Michael de Lorenzo and his a singer too.❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊 This is still my favorite movie of all time too man I miss the 80's so much.
micheal delorenzo. ( Ceasar) ❤ 🤣🤣 matt as in sherman lol so cute too.Don Franklin remind me of dancer Danny Tindall ( Rip glad i got to meet him (Danny )and see him dance. So many great dancers n actors/ actresses in this movie. Killed this only replay esp younger days
Exactly. No fighting, name calling, disrespect, guns, or killing. Just great dancing and competition. That's how it was back in the day. If you got that ass beat then you went off, learned some new steps/techniques/put together a new routine and then you went back for more. Kids will never understand stuff like this anymore because kids today don't get together on the corner or in the park or in the subway terminals or at the movies or whatever, and then dance like the rent was due in the morning.
My brother and I use to memorize all of the dances in this movie. We were actually pretty good. Lol, we got our asses beat for breaking a few pieces of furniture. 🤣😂
I been watching this movie since I was skid and I always wanted to know what did the walking in circles they start doing at four minutes and twenty two seconds mean
People slept on this movie. Will forever be a fan of this movie.
I remember going to the movies to see this back in the day. Any movie with dancing/breaking I was obessed with as a kid. This was heavily slept on....
Love this movie too man....treasure.
I used to watch it every single weekend on my dad's VHS. Still love popping it on once in a while. Was and is still a terrific movie. Old school charm. 🕺💃
I adored this. Still have my VHS copy. They got sooo served here!!! The apartment scene following this was epic!!! It lit a fire 🔥
Karen Kopins was in two great 80's dance battle scenes. Remember "Hands Off" from Once Bitten, with Jim Carey & "Countess"?...
Boy does that bring back memories. Yep, that's me in the studded denim vest spinning the nunchakus. Good times for sure.
Well you're a hell of a dancer. You guys did great, I love this film!
Ha ha! Really? Do share...what was the set like?
Kenny Jezek that's cool must have been fun!
You were great
Thanks man. I was little when this came out. This and Stevie Nicks's "Stand Back" made me want to dance. Pro dancer here...
Did you all know that Sidney Poitier directed this movie? I’m here because I’m a huge fan of this movie and to pay respects of his work.
#RIPSidneyPoitier
Fun fact, Sidney was tone-deaf.
It’s was so funny after the dance off back at the apartment, when Michael told the crew, “We gotsta get awesome!” LMAO
And said they looked like country lames out there. Lol
Lol yessss
"Complete hand me down amateurish bull 💩"
My favorite quote from the movie.
Technique verses The Streets. Both rocked and I totally miss these days when movies had a message.
Fast Forward is such a good movie
I agree I just bought the DVD
My girl in the purple dress was channeling a young Debbie Allen!!!! So much sass!!!!
Cesar’s dancer in the blue pants always cracks me up 🤣🤣🤣🤣
He seems aggressive towards the women.
@@CCInDisI was thinking the same thing like damn why gotta grab her booty like that.
The girl in the animal print didn't do anything but swing her hair and do high kicks. Lol.
I agree with you
HEY you beat me to it lmfao.
"Do yo thang and there won't be none!" 😉😁😎 classic movie. they got beat definitely, but the dancing was still great!
I loved watching this on cable in my teens. But it could be so unintentionally funny.
This was one of the original “you got served” dance movies😂😂. My twin and I still love this movie til this very day!!
Michael before he became Detective Torres lol great movie. A little corny at times but still good.
THE BEST DANCE MOVIE!
Snapping your fingers like that in the 80s really meant business lol
Cesar at the end with those spin kicks killed them lol talk about technical whewwww chile
One good damn battle they kicked ass Michael Delorenzo!!!
The guy that played Caesar also shows up in Beat It video.
He was in many things in the 80s and 90s
@@TheKrista5you're talking about Michael de Lorenzo and his a singer too.❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊 This is still my favorite movie of all time too man I miss the 80's so much.
Swing that hair girl shes my fav true original art an magic 🔸🈹🌂
I love this movie 1985
I always thought the guy thrashing the nun chucks around looked like a young Edward Norton.😂
OMG my CHILDHOOD‼️‼️‼️‼️♥️😍💓 I STILL KNOW & CAN STILL DO EVERY SINGLE DANCE in every scene ALMOST 40YRS LATER 💪🏾💯🤣
I was obsessed with this movie growing up!!! Thank you for posting
And you still can’t dance
@@zman8394 Lady Gaga thought otherwise 💁♂️
@@KarlWarden she had a poker face
Can someone please put up the speech where he says, "we got to get awesome!" 😂
I like that one of their dance moves was yanking that girl's hair back 😂2:54
I never noticed that after YEARS of watching this movie! 😂🤣
Caesar’s crew wiped the floor with them
thank you soo much for putting this back up, this my ish
This movie is now on Tubi! I’ve been watching it constantly. It was one of my favorite movies growing up.

"You dance on our turf, NO MORE!!"
This is how beef was handled back in the day
Man I missed this movie

They applaud Ceasar's dancers the moment they start dancing... before they even prove anything.😂
Technically they were great. I feel the new York crew had a big advantage having 6 girls against 3 girls and 3 hard core boys.
I love you Kenny you're one hell of a dancer
The team who won the first time I like there dancing better
I wish they would have the way they danced when they were dancing in the beginning of the movie to Breaking out they would have kicked their butt.
i bet they cant move like this no more 31 years later lol pop locking all on the floor
My brother and I use to memorize all of the dances in this movie. We were actually pretty good.
Lol, we got our asses beat for breaking a few pieces of furniture. 🤣😂
the crew that won the first i think they was honestly better the second time to
Honestly I would have to agree. The thing is they have an edge unlike the main characters. The edge is definitely confidence. They're just badass.
I know. I thought Micheal and the crew were even worse the second time round!
Agreed!
Always love this movie
lol Michael delorenzo
Before he became a cop lol
They sure let them know who run things
Love the billy idol wannabe @ 1:38
Sadly no such cracking dance movies nowadays.
boy george got an cameo in this movie
Caesars group gave them a Beatdown dance style.
Dance Challenge 8 on 8 Battle Part 1
FEEL LIKE IT!!
The good old days!
If I had to describe who I am at 48, I can just play this.
Tbt, Ofc Torres lol
This movie is ridiculous in a good way. Fashion, music, style. As stupid as some ballet looks, its still an incredible feat
If I'm not mistaken, the black guy who was in Ceaser crew, passed away a few years ago, after this movie came out.
In ‘87. I wonder what from?
I didn't know until today in 2021 that this movie was directed by Sidney Poitier.
Every dance movie stole from this
1:25 he would be canceled if he did that today. God, I miss the 80s.
I am still looking for the name of the song from this scene. I can't even get shazam to pick it up
Puffy and jlo danced to this beat in a music video
This is why breakdancing had to go back underground. What the hell were they doing? It's like a bad fame TV show episode
And New York undercover back in the 90's
3:45 How many of you thought that was Edward Norton dancing?
Ah hell naw lol my boys got chopped 🤣🤦🏿♂️
Oh my god My life !!
Hi, great nostalgia. Can you upload the full film? I have a VHS version where the quality is very bad
This movie is now on Tubi!

And
I'm assuming they were just challenging each other. Like getting ready to fight but dance fight.
What's the name of this song?????

She Played In Once Bitten With Jim Carrey.
Susan Granger..
Oh yeah I member her from once bitten thanks
She played in about 10 movies.. Plus she won Miss Connecticut in 1977.. She was one of the Angels in Charlie's Angels 1988..
Blonde guy seems like a woman hater and overly aggressive.
