Also Ramsay slated the guy for having a nice BMW M3 with a private plate, yet when this aired he owned and drove a Ferrari 612 Scaglietti, hypocrisy much
Gordon used to have a real issue with vegetarians and vegetarian food - it runs strongly through his early tv work. He used to be quite mean spirited about it. It seems he's changed his mind, or at least gotten better at hiding it, over the years.
ever heard of the fenwick arms? the owner was a hoarder and such a workaholic at his age, even heart attacks couldn't stop him working 120 hours a week without taking any days off; and believe me they tried; five times.
the production values are getting tighter and better paced with each episode. Your editing, narration and script are better and better as well, good job man!
Some people actually have auto immune disease where they cannot consume meat… some people are extremely sensitive to it where they can get swelling, coughing, severe pain, nausea and other symptoms from consuming meat. It’s just wrong to serve people food that is contaminated with something they did not consent to eat. People can joke about it but the reality is that you should respect people’s differences. No one is forcing you to change how you eat, so don’t worry about what others put in their body either. If you are annoyed by vegan people, don’t eat vegan food. Simple.
Just for the people from outside the UK these "garden cities" are basically new towns built post-ww2 and are nowhere near as nice as the name suggests, usually very brutalist and grey towns. Letchworth is basically just a commuter town for London.
Used to walk past this place every day. Never noticed it was there until the episode aired, and it wasn’t there (or at least open) for very long afterwards.
Im an avid meat eater and i encourage others to eat meat as well as to see the health benefits of it but when i watched this and saw them all laughing at the vegetarian i was sooooo mad. Like its his life and his choices and they robbed him of that and then laughed in his face about it. Very happy gordon matured and learned to respect other peoples dietary wishes but this episode still upsets me when i watch it
5:40 as a chef, and a vegetarian myself, this is entirely fucked up. Gordon should know to respect people's diets, that's how he makes money. That guy didn't come to eat Gordon's food, he was offered food by Gordon, he didn't know what he was accepting.
i been watchin the great food truck race and wondered if alot of those on the show were still a food truck today and i was thinking of your channel and thought to myself. i wonder if reality tv rescues ever watch food truck road trip ( i know it's not a rescue show but was curious if you ever watched it ) i like to think you would do good coverage if you did that show tho i know it's outside of what your channel is about just giving opinion if you were to cover that show i think you would do it justice )
I think that the trick they pulled on the vegetarian guy was REALLY REALLY MEAN, apart from that i didn't remember about this episode and MY GOD three pepole that opened a restaurant with no experience...
I don't understand these people, if they don't know how to cook or don't want to run a,restaurant in the first place then why buy a restaurant? It must be nice to have money to throw away like that.
@@kingrama2727There is. Vegans use absolutely no animal product. Vegetarians don’t eat meat, but use animal products such as eggs, milk, cheese, etc. I’m a pescatarian, there is a difference. I mean people are having a drama meltdown over it, yeah you should not give someone who doesn't want meat, meat. makes 100% sense. but at the same time, doesn't seem like the guy died or was allergic. Man. Most chefs I know would fucking demolish a pot noodle when they got home from a 12 hour shift because they’re too exhausted to cook.
Can confirm mate

oh absolutely without question.
they mostly eat ready meals and rarely make things in batches to freee and then reheat.
@itsdan722 not really, no. Ramsay aint struggling to keep a restaurant afloat
@@HPLovecats point still stands. Bell end
Not sure why they would trick the poor vegetarian guy. He might like meat but not eat it because of moral or health reasons. Poor guy :(
It could have gotten him sick too. When you don’t have meat for a long time you can lose the enzymes in your stomach to digest it. 😞
It’s super illegal too. It’s considered poisoning. Which is when you knowingly put things in food and not advertise what’s in the food.
scripted pretty sure, but lets face the world was more simple that time

Tricking the customer into eating meat is a pretty shitty thing to do.
Yeah but I also feel like it was scripted as you could be sued for that.
Most of it is scripted.
Aldonna told him it was vegetarian, they had no idea. They didn't trick him ffs, it was an honest mistake.

I loved Alex's attitude towards Gordon, he didn't bite back and listened and took it all in.
I'm not a veggie but that was a violation on the poor guy.
From amateur restaurant owner to car salesman! Somehow I’m not surprised.
Me either. He was so lazy and immature.
God I forgot about that number plate! Even "bad" celebrity chefs didn't want it 😂

As of 2010, yes. In the US at least.
