  • Is My PC Holding Me Back? Well that was what i wanted to find out, so i upgraded from my old trusty PC and went (almost) all out on a new one and then took to the track to see if i could improve my lap times and go faster! The result genuinely shocked me!

Hey Duncan. Really interesting comparison. What i would say is your frame rate beforehand wasnt too shabby at all. But from yhe video the new pc definitely makes it look nice and runs as smooth as butter.
Maybe resetting and calculating the correct fov has done wonders too.
Did you change your monitors too? Maybe its the enjoyment of having a shiny new god tier system.
Whatever ever it is, times have improved and enjoyment is up so all win win.

Hi mate, yea the FPS was actually better than I thought but only during the test session. It struggled during races at times and that was with the graphics set very low. I think the FOV could be a big part of it but the smoothness really makes the difference.

This is very interesting. I too, did the same about a month ago and my Irating has shot up similarly. I was kind of let down in the way that, I thought I would see more drastic changes visually, in sim. But your video kind of helps confirm my recent uplift in Irating. It must be the smoothness making a difference. Talk about a major pain is the A**, switching all your software and hardware over to the new computer. It took me 2 weeks to get everything dialed back in. I'm know able to hit those pro level recording outputs which is really nice visually.

Ah that's interesting. I really think there's something in it like. It's a major pain in the ass as you say but so worth it eh! Holding my own in top splits lately and really pleased with my pace and consistency. Glad you've found pace too 👍

The one I have on the old PC was 'Kapps'. I wasn't able to install Kapps on the new PC so I added the battery deployment to the RaceLab advanced panel overlay.
